The owner and project manager are in communication with Mr [redacted] to effectively resolve this matter

We really have very little argument with Ms***’s evaluation of what happened during the original installOur installer pretty much did a bad job and behaved in a very unprofessional manner, and did some damage to both neighbor’s housesI don’t know what happened to him or why, I can only say that something just went very wrongOnce we knew that he was not going to recover from this we removed him from the job and began repairsMs [redacted] was understandably upset and we did our best to reassure her that repairs would be done, but I don’t know how successful we were in that regardWe did handle the repairs on both of her neighbor’s housesWe filed a claim with the installer’s insurance, but due to the insurance carrier’s policy have been given no information and we only know that Ms [redacted] has received a settlement, we don’t know what the amount of that settlement wasAs far as getting outside contractors that was her choice and we respected it, but I need to point out that we accomplished most of the repairs on her house without issue before she told us to wait to hold off on further work, before she ultimately decided she won’t allow us to finish the final few repairsHaving another roofer inspect her roof is perfectly fineI like having our work critiqued, it keeps my installers on their toesAs far as the chimney is concerned we have already discussed it with Ms [redacted] and we offered to bring in a masonry contractor to repair it, even though it was in somewhat poor condition before we started our workOur pictures of the house before we began work show thisThe drip edge she refers to were not included in her contract, not required by code, not required for the manufacturer’s warranty and I cannot find any evidence that there was drip edge on the house prior to the beginning of the work That said I offered to install drip edge after the fact for freeWe understand completely that this job went very badly at the outset and we have been working to remedy itMs [redacted] is right, this has taken far longer than we wanted, but by far the greater part of the delays were due to the insurance carrier and beyond our controlMy one and only purpose in this is to finish the job and move onI have offered discounts, free work, and free materials to do soI’m still willing to resolve it, but it’s very difficult to communicate with Ms [redacted] at this time, as she tells us all further communication should be directed to her attorney, but she hasn’t given me the name and contact info for themI hope this is helps to clarify the situation

Complaint: ***
II am rejecting this response because *** *** is making it appear in his response that STL Roofing and Exteriors were performing repairs on my home that was caused from installing the roofActually it took them months to make repairs to the roof that was improperly installedAfter what they put myself and my neighbors through, I would never recommend their services to anyoneAs I sit here I still have close to worth of damage to my homeHe refused to accept responsibility for the damages unless his company does the repairsI refuse to let that company back on my propertyI have still to date not received a bill and other documentation regarding the billI have requested it several timesStill have not received anything.
Sincerely,
*** ***

No has not gone to court

This complaint is not valid as we have not done any work for Mr***, we haven't marketed to him at all and we have no affiliation. We have been in communication with him regarding this though and have been trying to investigate to figure out if we actually caused any damageHe did call our
company prior to filing this complaint and we have been in active communication to determine the scopeWe have even scheduled a site visit with an independent insurance adjuster to determine the full scope of the damage. If it turned out that we caused any damages we would absolutely get them repaired right away

I don’t know if I made myself clear before, so I’ll restate it a bit differentlyThe repairs we conducted at Ms***’s house were to the roof, and by that I mean we repaired the poor workmanship of the original installerWe were required to hold off on the damage caused to other areas while we waited for the insurance adjuster who handled Ms***’s claimUnfortunately we had no choice in that, and yes, that process took an extended period of timeWe are sorry, but once again it was that or Ms***’s insurance claim would be denied because the adjuster would be unable to inspect the damage, we had no control over itHad we done anything different Ms*** would have been unable to collect the insurance money that she has received for the damagesThis was explained to her, I suppose we should have explained it betterAs far as $14,in damage is concerned we have seen no documentation to support that dollar amount, her roof and complete replacement of plywood was less than $10,I can only imagine that these numbers include a complete replacement of the roof again, which is not neededShe is correct about preventing us from doing repairs, she has barred us from the property. She is also correct that we have not supplied her with an invoice, we were hoping to come to some agreement on a discounted priceMs*** rejects all communication about this and has repeated that she has contacted an attorney, but she still has not provided us with contact information for her council, so we don’t know how to proceedWe have now invoiced her for price of the complete job and we are assuming the insurance money she accepted will cover the rest of the damages to her home

We really have very little argument with Ms. [redacted]’s evaluation of what happened during the original install. Our installer pretty much did a bad job and behaved in a very unprofessional manner, and did some damage to both neighbor’s houses. I don’t know what happened...

to him or why, I can only say that something just went very wrong. Once we knew that he was not going to recover from this we removed him from the job and began repairs. Ms. [redacted] was understandably upset and we did our best to reassure her that repairs would be done, but I don’t know how successful we were in that regard. We did handle the repairs on both of her neighbor’s houses. We filed a claim with the installer’s insurance, but due to the insurance carrier’s policy have been given no information and we only know that Ms. [redacted] has received a settlement, we don’t know what the amount of that settlement was. As far as getting outside contractors that was her choice and we respected it, but I need to point out that we accomplished most of the repairs on her house without issue before she told us to wait to hold off on further work, before she ultimately decided she won’t allow us to finish the final few repairs. Having another roofer inspect her roof is perfectly fine. I like having our work critiqued, it keeps my installers on their toes. As far as the chimney is concerned we have already discussed it with Ms. [redacted] and we offered to bring in a masonry contractor to repair it, even though it was in somewhat poor condition before we started our work. Our pictures of the house before we began work show this. The drip edge she refers to were not included in her contract, not required by code, not required for the manufacturer’s warranty and I cannot find any evidence that there was drip edge on the house prior to the beginning of the work.  That said I offered to install drip edge after the fact for free. We understand completely that this job went very badly at the outset and we have been working to remedy it. Ms. [redacted] is right, this has taken far longer than we wanted, but by far the greater part of the delays were due to the insurance carrier and beyond our control. My one and only purpose in this is to finish the job and move on. I have offered discounts, free work, and free materials to do so. I’m still willing to resolve it, but it’s very difficult to communicate with Ms. [redacted] at this time, as she tells us all further communication should be directed to her attorney, but she hasn’t given me the name and contact info for them. I hope this is helps to clarify the situation.

I am rejecting this response because:This is a valid complaint, your employee damaged my home. You want witnesses I have five of them, so keep talking. Damage to my home is our affiliation. And Yes your employee actually caused the damage,so there is no figuring to do. Everything was pretty lade-back till I got this e-mail.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
