I understand that this client is upset about the miscommunication that took place when we installed her roof. I reassured her that the roof installation carries a LIFETIME warranty and I fully intend to honor any necessary repairs that would ever be required if there is a leak. The roof, skylight...

and chimney flashing do not need to be replaced. These are all covered by the warranty. After I personally met with her several times and discussed the issues of concern, I brought an independent professional roof contractor to inspect the workmanship and his report stated that the installation was in good order. My independent inspector suggested replacing one sheet of plywood, not because of rot or that it was bad, but because the wood had mold on the underside of it. I do not ever want an unhappy customer. In order to make her happy, this client and I agreed that if I replaced the sheet of plywood, replaced her chimney cap with finish trim and upgraded the felt, all at no charge to her, that she would be fine with that and pay my company in full, which she did, after we did the free upgrades. I really do want her as a satisfied client and in order to make up for her hassle, I'd be willing to send her a $200 gift card from the store or restaurant of her choice. Thanks.

Final Consumer Response /* (3000, 21, 2014/09/25) */
9/25/2014 We waited for the owner to survey our damage and he never showed. We ended up contacting the businesses insurance company ([redacted])and they viewed our documentation and settled the claim. We signed a release letter and have received the check. Satisfied this is settled but not happy with the companies lack of professionalism.

Mrs. [redacted] hired us and hopefully she understood what was included in the contract that she signed. Ridge vent requires soffit venting, and both are always sold as an option. I'm not aware of any roofing contractor's that include either with a new roof purchase.
We...

always cover landscaping, etc. However. if the wind blew a drop cloth or tarp from the covered areas, I apologize for causing any stress. We will finish her project in a timely manner. When we are doing a project that involves more than one trade, occasionally there is a gap between crews, again I apologize for any stress this has caused. My foreman told me that a car was blocking the driveway access. This may have been a neighbor's car? I don't know. Again, I apologize for any stress that this issue has caused. She misplaced her copy of the contract and we have sent another copy to her. The skylights have new flashings. We did not replace the skylights. Hopefully these steps resolve all of the issues. Thanks, [redacted]r [redacted]

Extremely disappointing and frustrating--subcontracted roof to other workers who left nails in the driveway (we got a flat tire) and had nailheads showing all over the shed. Now, company will not honor warranty on a roof installed 2-3 years ago that we thought was guaranteed for 25-30 years. Very poor customer service. Roof leaked recently and our bathroom ceiling was damaged. We tried communicating for weeks via email, phone, letter. Owner was pleasant, but no results. He finally said he would send someone out to inspect roof. Not sure if anyone actually looked at the roof, but we were told damages weren't covered because flashings had "been installed properly but were damaged by squirrels." Though we paid $9000 for roof, were told we'd have to pay an additional $395 for repair. When we called back to ask what evidence there was for squirrel damage, couldn't get a response. We called another roofer to get his opinion, and he said there was no squirrel damage, and he was shocked that Lawler wouldn't fix their own work. Local roofer repaired the vents/flashings (AND fixed a nail showing through a shingle) the same day for $240.
