I understand that this client is upset about the miscommunication that took place when we installed her roofI reassured her that the roof installation carries a LIFETIME warranty and I fully intend to honor any necessary repairs that would ever be required if there is a leakThe roof, skylight and chimney flashing do not need to be replacedThese are all covered by the warrantyAfter I personally met with her several times and discussed the issues of concern, I brought an independent professional roof contractor to inspect the workmanship and his report stated that the installation was in good orderMy independent inspector suggested replacing one sheet of plywood, not because of rot or that it was bad, but because the wood had mold on the underside of itI do not ever want an unhappy customerIn order to make her happy, this client and I agreed that if I replaced the sheet of plywood, replaced her chimney cap with finish trim and upgraded the felt, all at no charge to her, that she would be fine with that and pay my company in full, which she did, after we did the free upgradesI really do want her as a satisfied client and in order to make up for her hassle, I'd be willing to send her a $gift card from the store or restaurant of her choiceThanks

My comments to the business response:
First of all they talk about miscommunication, after days they had not removed the old felt which is in the contractThat isn't miscommunication, that's not doing what you are supposed to do, what you agreed to doThat is dishonestHe said we met several timesThat is not trueWe only met timesOnce was for the contractTwo times was to come and pick up the checkSo actually only one time did they come out with the issues I had complained aboutThe owners never came out to check on the work being doneThe subcontractor came out to check when I complained on the issuesThere was never anyone actually checking to make sure that the workers were doing the work according to the contractThey talk about the skylight flashing, that they would fix it if it was leakingThe *** insurance company wrote down everything they said needed to be replace from the hail damageI saw that the skylight flashing kits delivered to the houseThey never actually replaced it, but they took the moneyThey now are saying they will fix it if it leaks, but they were supposed to replace it in the first placeThere actually is hail damage to the skylights and I have pictures to prove itHe refers to an inspector that he had to come outHe isn't actually an inspector, he is just another one of their subcontractorsThey are not being truthful about thatI wanted them to check the attic just to make sure everything was okay after the leak was discoveredThey found a ply wood board that looked really discolored and maybe looked like it was rottedHis "inspector" was positive that there was mold on the other sideI agreed to let them go ahead and take that board out, and they cut the roof and took the board outThere was no moldThey didn't even replace the plywood with plywood, they replaced it with particle board, which is cheaper and absorbs waterIt should've been replaced with plywoodI was not aware it was particle board until several days laterIf the first roofing contractor, *** Roofing, had removed the old felt, they would have been able to see that and it wouldn't have ever had to be doneI was paying extra for a new chimney cap and the upgraded felt, but because of them not removing felt on 2/of my roof I agreed to get these things for free instead of them tearing off 2/of me roof and redoing it according to the contractIt is StLouis code to remove old felt before you replace the roof, and they only did that on 1/of my roofThe chimney cap does not fit correctlyI would rather have my old one backIt looks really bad and has never fitThey offered me a gift card for my restaurant of choice, I do not take bribes for poor work

Mrs*** hired us and hopefully she understood what was included in the contract that she signed. Ridge vent requires soffit venting, and both are always sold as an optionI'm not aware of any roofing contractor's that include either with a new roof purchaseWe always
cover landscaping, etcHoweverif the wind blew a drop cloth or tarp from the covered areas, I apologize for causing any stressWe will finish her project in a timely mannerWhen we are doing a project that involves more than one trade, occasionally there is a gap between crews, again I apologize for any stress this has causedMy foreman told me that a car was blocking the driveway accessThis may have been a neighbor's car? I don't knowAgain, I apologize for any stress that this issue has causedShe misplaced her copy of the contract and we have sent another copy to herThe skylights have new flashingsWe did not replace the skylightsHopefully these steps resolve all of the issuesThanks, *** ***r ***

I understand that this client is upset about the miscommunication that took place when we installed her roof. I reassured her that the roof installation carries a LIFETIME warranty and I fully intend to honor any necessary repairs that would ever be required if there is a leak. The roof, skylight...

and chimney flashing do not need to be replaced. These are all covered by the warranty. After I personally met with her several times and discussed the issues of concern, I brought an independent professional roof contractor to inspect the workmanship and his report stated that the installation was in good order. My independent inspector suggested replacing one sheet of plywood, not because of rot or that it was bad, but because the wood had mold on the underside of it. I do not ever want an unhappy customer. In order to make her happy, this client and I agreed that if I replaced the sheet of plywood, replaced her chimney cap with finish trim and upgraded the felt, all at no charge to her, that she would be fine with that and pay my company in full, which she did, after we did the free upgrades. I really do want her as a satisfied client and in order to make up for her hassle, I'd be willing to send her a $200 gift card from the store or restaurant of her choice. Thanks.
