Hello, I'm sorry to hear this customer was disappointed in our employees' response to her gift card payment method on Saturday, January 20, 2018. Because we were so busy, unusually busy because of the very mild temperatures and the need for people to clean the salt and grime off of their cars, that we were unable to transfer her *** *** gift card balance to a *** *** *** gift card that particular day. We washed a record number of vehicles at every one of our locations that day. *** *** took their point of sale system with them at the time of their sale to us. So, we cannot directly redeem their gift cards. We can however, transfer an outstanding balance to our own *** *** *** gift card, but the process takes some time, and in an effort accommodate all of our customers, we opted to ask these particular customers to please bring them back another day when we were not so busy. That did not mean that we were never going to transfer their balance(s), it just meant that that particular day with the traffic we had, we wanted to limit the amount of time that people had to wait in line. If we did not convey that to her well, I am sorry for that. This was strictly our general manager's decision that day, and he was doing it for the benefit of most customers. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience she and others experienced that day, and she is welcome to come by any time to have her gift card transferred.To be clear about our phone number, the number in her complaint is the number to phone line at this location. We are sorry that the complainant feels that our car wash damaged his vehicle. Our operations manager told customer that he believed the damage to his bumper was from a rock or some other debris hitting his vehicle during normal driving conditions. If you drive a motor vehicle then you know, this is...

a very common occurrence to bumpers, grills, and hoods. The reason for the operations manager conclusion is that there is not one piece of equipment in our car was that would damage  his vehicle in just that one spot and then not damage the vehicle anywhere else if there was an equipment malfunction. The equipment spins in constant motion and would therefore cause a great deal more damage than a small chip.  I have included a photo of the damage. We cannot pay for damage that we feel we did not do.  However, we are glad to give the customer the $15 he paid for the wash.As far as customer speaking with a woman who became "hateful" to him, I am the only woman he could have spoken to on the phone, and when and if I did speak to him, it would have been only to give him the operations manager phone number. I never would have discussed video footage or anything like that with him as the manager is the person who handles that end of the business. Also, once we received your letter, manager immediately tried to contact customer via telephone, and customer did not return his call.Sincerely,Marketing ManagerMartian Car Wash

We are sorry to hear that Mr. [redacted] is not happy with the customer service he received on January 12th.  We do understand his frustration and are sorry for his experience.  We do apologize for our manager not getting back with him.  The 12th of January was an exceptionally...

cold day with a high of 19 degrees and a low of 13 degrees ([redacted].com).  We all know, that water freezes at 32 degrees and this type of day is brutal for car washing, especially once the sun goes down as there is no warmth to help to melt ice.  We absolutely do salt our parking lots and sidewalks and even have radiant heat in the concrete at the entrance and exit of that particular car wash.  Salt melts ice best at 30 degrees and only weakens in capability the lower the temperature gets.  We have no doubt that there was some ice on the concrete at the end of the wash tunnel.  All vehicles drip water on the ground as they exit the tunnel.  Consequently, it doesn't take long for ice to form on the bitter cold concrete.  We offer our car wash services at these temperatures because many more people would rather have their vehicle free of salt and grime than care about ice forming on their car because it's 19 degrees out. That being said, we cannot be responsible for Mr. [redacted]'s wheel because he hit a curb on our property.  It was cold, there might be ice any where it's cold.  If our equipment had failed or even part of our building had fallen on him, we'd absolutely take responsibility.   For his trouble, we're more than happy to refund the $18 he spent that day, but we cannot pay for his wheel.
