St Peters Hospital Reviews (4)

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The response is NOT satisfactoryDue to StPeter's errors with my labs, I was forced to have more tests performedI have a CO-PAY with my insurance depending on where the labs are performedThe Co-PAY that I have always paid at StPeter's is around $I do not feel I should be expected to pay ANY of this fee due to the fact that their errors caused me to have to retake the entire blood test (including the one that they perform)The fact they they only PARTIALLY performed some of the requests labs did not help me in the least as I had to re-take (and pay the Co-pay for) the entire lab again elsewhereI had the tests redone at LabCorp.
The bottom line is that StPeter's failure to perform ALL of the tests as request cost me the time, convenience, and added costs for a new lab testI do not feel that they are owed anything further from me and I will not be paying thisIf they want to persist in their misguided quest to obtain $from me, I will contact an attorney and possibly pursue legal action as well as filing a report with the State Insurance FundAs a patient/customer, I should not be penalized for STPeter's lab errors

July 30, 20 15RE: Account No, [redacted]Dear [redacted]:In response to the recent inquiry I offer the following information. The above account wasreviewed by the Director of the Laboratory Department and upon review; some of the tests thatwere ordered were not completed or charged. Since this account...

is so old it is difficult tounderstand why some of the tests ordered were not resulted, Typically it may be due to a brokenor leaky tube that the spec imen is housed in. The patient did receive a CBC which is in a differenttube, and which resulted .The insurance company and the patient have only been billed for the lab tests that werecompleted. The lab tests that were not completed were not billed or charged.I trust this information has been helpful. I am sorry that there was no previous response from myoffice; however, we have not received any previous inquiry, I have enclosed a financial assistanceapplication should Ms. [redacted] need assistance with her balance of $5.50. Our customerservice department ###-###-#### can also assist with a payment plan if necessary.Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms. [redacted]'s concerns. If you have any otherconcerns or would like to discuss, please feel free to contact me directly at ###-###-####Sincerely,Linda B[redacted]Director, CBO Revenue CycleEnclosure

Review: They send individuals to collections without sending bills. When you try to contact them they give you the offer to leave a message but don't return phone calls. and they do not resolve this issue. I have personally been making payments on bills and never have received the particular bill they turned over. I pay bills timely.Desired Settlement: I just want an explanation of what the bill is and to have it rescinded from being turned over to collection. I'm still paying my bills.

Review: I used the emergency room on March 4, 2015, June 12, 2015, June 13, 2015 and June 14, 2015. At these times I only had Medicare Part A. I would have Medicare Part B starting on July 1, 2015.

When I came to the ER on March 4, 2015 I knew I would be paying for the doctor service since I didn’t have Medicare Part B at that time. I figured the ER room service would be covered under Medicare Part A. So:

• I received a billing statement for 3/4/2015 from the emergency doctor service, in a timely manner, and paid that on April 15, 2015 with a TD Ameritrade check (number 121) for $785.00.

• On July 23, 2015 I received my first bill from the emergency doctor services for the 6/12/2015 service and paid that bill on 7/31/2015 with a Wells Fargo check (number 5997) for $525.00. Upon subsequent billings I’ve had discussion with the billing personnel and she’s waived all other bills.

• I never received a detailed billing statement for 3/4/2015 from St. Peter’s hospital for the emergency room part. Since I didn’t receive a bill I figured the emergency room service was covered under Medicare Part A and so didn’t worry about not receiving a bill.

• I have never received detailed billing statements for June 12, June 13 or June 14, 2015 from St. Peter’s hospital for the emergency room service.

• I finally received a bill (not a detailed statement) from St. Peter’s on August 26, 2015 for service dates March 4, 2015 and June 12, 2015.

• When I received my

NOTE: IF I HAD KNOWN THAT THE ER ROOM PART OF ST PETER’S HOSPITAL WASN’T CONSIDERED UNDER PART A AND IF I HAD RECEIVED A (DETAILED) BILLING STATEMENT IN A TIMELY MANNER PERTAINING TO MY ER VISIT ON MARCH 4, 2015 FOR THE ER ROOM SERVICE, I WOULD HAVE OPTED OUT OF GOING TO THE ER ON JUNE 12, 13, 14 2015. I WOULD HAVE TAKEN MY CHANCES WITH THE BATERIA (ANYONE WOULD HAVE OPTED OUT).

A SIDE NOTE: On June 12, 2015, I found myself encouraged by Doctor G[redacted] (dermatology) and Dr F[redacted] (the surgeon who performed a complete knee replacement in 1/16/2013) that I needed to go to the St Peter’s emergency room for 3 to 4 days of injection of an antibiotic into my vein, to prevent possible bacteria from entering into my bones. The visit was deeded a moderately severe problem as I had a very severe infection from an oil gland cyst by my knee.

So the ER room part of St Peter’s hospital is as stands:

• March 3, 2015 total bill $1,535.81

• June 12, 2015 total bill $1,837.56

• June 13, 2015 total bill $1,218.26

• June 14, 2015 total bill $1,412.80

• Total for all ER visits $6,004.43Desired Settlement: What I’d like to see, that:

• St Peter’s hospital and the ER services send out a detailed bill in a timely manner to the patient even if the hospital/ER are sending a bill to an insurance company.

What I want:

• I’ll pay $1,535.81 for March 3, 2015

• I want to discuss decrease in the amounts for June 12, 13 and 14.

• Need to get on a time payment plan as I am going through a divorce and need to sell the house. At that time I can pay in full
