St Vincent's Guest House

Review: A group of friends and myself rented a female dormitory for July 3-6 2014 from St. Vincent's guesthouse. Upon arrival we were told those rooms were not available and were given a "2 bedroom apartment", which was actually the attic. When we opened the rooms there was a bucket of dity mop water, empty bottles of water, and roacj killer in the room. The sheets and comforters were dirty. We had to go to Walmart to get sheet to put on the beds (which were actually cots). We had to get cleaning supplies to disinfect and clean the room, which we were told that they weren't expecting anyone to be staying in the attic which is why is was the way it was. The air conditioning was not working properly. We requested a fan, which was brought up but didn't work. The fridge in the room was not cool, we lost food and drinks. The rooms were infested with roaches. When we complained about this they said it was due to renovations. There were handwritten signs up stating some rooms had no running water. We asked for a refund and were given a partial refund (the deposit). When asked for more we were told they couldn't do that but could give us a discounted stay for another time. There were no other (affordable) hotel rooms available in the city due to an event going on in town. We stayed at the guesthouse for the weekend. A friend that was in the group had asthma and was constantly coughing due to the heat and dirtiness of the room. The staff said there was nothing they could do.Desired Settlement: We paid $427 for the room and which we would like the FULL amount back. Since we are taking the cleaning supplies and sheets we bought at Walmart home we are not asking to be reimbursed for those items.
