Review: NOV 28 13 This is a complaint about products I purchased manufactured by Sta Tru Wheels, Inc., of Santa Ana, CA. The products are road bike wheels and components. The problems involve materials, workmanship, labor and associated costs. During September 2012, I purchased a Sta Tru Wheel from the local bike shop for total expense of $75.25. I was priced out of Mavic wheels, but was informed that this brand of wheel was comparable for reliability and performance. The wheel was subject only to normal use and a limited number of rides on paved streets. There were no accidents and no unusual usage to promote a product failure. The spokes laced into the hubs have shown themselves to be very poor quality. To date, 5 individual spokes completely separated from the central hub at the connector holes. These did not appear to be stainless steel spokes, but a cheaper grade of nondurable materials or unknown metal or alloy. These materials were deficient and failed. A physical trip was made to a local bike shop to repair the 5 failed spokes on the Sta Tru Wheel, road rear wheel. The cost of labor for spoke replacements and truing was an additional $14.00. The cumulative total expense lost for the referenced products is $89.25. The unit is now out of service and I have not been able to ride the bike since the end of the summer 2013. I cannot emphasize enough the lost time, money, resources, and followup that has been absolutely necessary to find responsible remedies for the documented issues with product quality, workmanship, and utility.Desired Settlement: This is Notice & Demand for Specific Performance:(1.) A complete refund by check for costs incurred of $89.25. The return of the private Property can be used as a vehicle to purchase a suitable product in the market.OR(2.)
