I went on the website to look at there electric bikes they sell. they give you two options to buy if you can not buy out right. it clearly says at top of screen putting in info
as follows. viewing your options wont affect your credit score. if eligible you'll be able to choose one of the options below at the checkout.
after I did this I then got an email saying they ran a credit report.
To Whom It May Concern:

A note per the Bread Merchant Success division: "I can assure you that pre-qualifying for Bread is a soft check and will
not impact customers' credit scores. If a customer is declined, we send
them an adverse action notice within 24 hours explaining the reason for the
decline. Checking out with Bread may impact a customer's credit score as we report
repayment information to TransUnion — but it does not sound like that is what
occurred in this case."
Customer *** applied for financing on July 28th and was denied approval. This customer has not made a purchase through our site and therefore will not see an impact to their credit score.
The customer is encouraged to contact the Bread Member Support team at *** (M-F 10AM - 6PM EST) or email ***. They will be able to address any of her issues and/or concerns.
