November 17, 2015Dear [redacted] : [redacted] 's vehicle was brought into our service department on September through [redacted] ***Upon performing diagnostics approved per the body shop per his insurance company found that the vehicles fuel pump and tank required replacementThis vehicle had been in an accident prior to and had a pretty significant repair performedWe provided an estimate to [redacted] 's insurance company) for the cost of repair which as stated was a result of the accidentAt which time the [redacted] agent advised us that the cost of the repair was too significant and with the cost of the previous repair that had already been completed it would exceed the value of the vehicle.They would be required by law to total the vehicleAt the request of [redacted] they asked if they sent us a used fuel pump and tank would we be willing to install, we agreedIt arrived damagedThey sent a second one it too was damaged [redacted] came into our service department and spoke with the parts manager and service advisor regarding our parts department ordering another used fuel tank and pump but this time using our providerAt which time we agreed and he was given a price for that fuel pump and tank installed [redacted] had called in prior to authorizing any repairs and was advised at that time that I could not release the vehicle to him because there was a diagnostic bill owedwas informed by the [redacted] body shop manager [redacted] that [redacted] was totaling the vehicleAt which time the customer was advised of this decision a [redacted] agent and he choose to purchase the vehicle back from [redacted] resuming all moneys owed [redacted] 's original bill on the vehicle was $We discounted the bill $Robert CService Manager
