Review: I am writing to inform you of the unprofessional and highly disappointing experience I had with Stahl Plumbing. A few months ago I had a drain replaced by Stahl. In order for this job to be completed, Stahl had to go through my neighbors wall. A few weeks later I received a note from my neighbor inquiring about when the hole in her wall would be repaired. I contacted Stahl and was informed that my neighbor had to make an appointment. Yesterday I received a bill in the mail for $346.00 for repairs to my neighbors wall. I was told that my initial fee would include tearing out and repairing the wall. Today I contacted the main Pittsburgh office for help and an explanation which I did not receive. Instead the owner of the establishment began to yell at me stating that I owe them $346.00 and as if I am going to give him his money? If I don't he will take me to the Magistrate.Desired Settlement: Billing Adjustment.

Review: In short: Grossly overcharged on boiler part, and poor customer service. I had called ahead of service appt and got an estimate for labor and part. Based on that information, we moved forward with Stahl vs another local competitor. Came home to see the invoice and the part was approx $120 more than quoted, and about the same over the cost of this same part available through a multitude of other vendors. I called back next morning to dispute (the phone was passed around their office, lacking any professional transition, such as 'I am now transferring you to XXXX', or 'XXXX would like to speak with you') and was told they didn't have specific part info when initially quoting. To which I asked why or how could they provide a quote? I was told they were very busy at the time of my call and didn't have time to look up the part info, and so they made an assumption. Their 'solution' was to have the tech come back uninstall the boiler part (resulting in a non-functional heating system), and we could proceed with another vendor. Customer service was poor at best. Will never use again.Desired Settlement: Though I will not use this vendor again, I request a refund in the amount of $115 - the difference between the amount quoted ($90 for labor, $180 for part, $4 for fuel) and the actual invoice ($389).

I am very unhappy with Stahl Plumbing. They are rude and hard to deal with. They do not stand behind their work. Go to Yelp and read what other customers have to say.

Review: I received in the mail from Stahl a flyer for a furnace checkup. Business was called for furnace checkup and also because pipes were banging very loud. Service plumber came out10/30/15 and confirmed pipes were banging loud upstairs. Never offered to fix it which was one of the reasons why Stahl was contacted. Serviceman only stated the pipes were not tied down. As a result of Stahl's employee inability to repair the banging and inability to communicate effectively, I cancelled the furnace checkup. I was charged $85 for ten minutes of the employee's time to tell me something I already knew and no ability to fix it. I called next day to speak to a Manager and report it to Stahl. I requested a refund and was told that was their fee for a service call. I told the Manager his employee did nothing and was only here ten minutes. Manager stated too bad, that was their fee and no refunds. This company mails out large amounts of flyers to everyone and when called for specific plumbing service, can't fix it and charges you for no work done. Would never use them again or recommend them to anyone.Desired Settlement: Thought the $85 was a rip off for only ten minutes of an employees time to tell me something I already knew. Could have charged me half the fee, $42.50.

Review: I was having plumbing issues on my main house line, so I called Stahl. The first time they were helpful or at least that was the impression. They came out and said they needed to run a camera and snake and that I would get a report/estimate. After snaking, things seemed to get better. I paid for both services $375. I called and wanted the camera report, but never received it. A few weeks later, (June 11, 2013) the main line was backing up again so I called them. They said they needed to run a camera and snake, but did not talk about exact costs and that I would not be charged for the camera. They said a report and estimate for the upcoming work which would be needed would be sent by mail. I only got another bill for $239. It states that the used a camera and reported a broken line near the street on the invoice. I feel like they were neither honest nor ethical in their practices and whatever they found the second time, they should have found the first time. I called to question the bill and they said I had no choice but to pay it. I still have not received the estimate or the report about either camera findings. I don't appreciate being treated like this and hope that this will not happen to other people.Desired Settlement: I want the report and estimate for the future work needed-which I paid for and the second bill waived

Review: On September 2015 I had this company install a new toilet. We were told we needed anew floor in the area. The plumber then told us we needed a new flang for area, and plumbing replaced. We said to do the job. One of the days the plumber was here 6 hrs,he knew what he needed for the job.He returned on Friday to finish the job. We paid $589 on Wednesday. And then after bringing a helper on Friday, charged another $950. He stated on the first day this was a very small area to work in. There was no need to pay for a helper. Also, sent this worker to get parts he should have had here. He spent all day Wed. here. I inspected the job when finished,I asked what about a hole about 12x10 in the wall? He said we could make an assess or close it up? Who finishes a 2,000 job and leaves a hole in your wall? called several times and told we would have to pay to have it fixed! Really not Exceptable. Still no satisfaction!!Desired Settlement: Come back and fix the hole in the wall he made at no charge. Feel we have already paid for this action. Also, why we where billed for second unneeded helper.

Review: Day of service was very inefficient and workers came unprepared. My initial request was for a camera and a snake to clear sewer line. Initial two guys did not have enough snake to do the job and did not have a camera. In fact they did not even know about the camera being the initial and main request. I waited 2+ hours for one worker to leave to get more snake to return without it and then they left saying another worker would be there with camera. They showed up with additional snack and cleared the line in a matter of 5-10 minutes. They tried to put the camera in and could not because of the trap. I paid for the initial service but because the camera was not there initially and was not able to be used (which I feel initial guys should have known that it could not because you could very clearly see the pipe size and they could have saved the camera guy a trip). Camera was not used and there was no film of pipe or blockage to be used to solve the problem.I refused to pay for the camera portion of the invoice and I requested that they come back to give me a quote for the work that needed done to solve the problem (roots in drain pipe). They never came back to give me a quote. They sent an invoice for the camera so I called to discuss the problem. Mr. [redacted] was extremely rude and talked over me as I tried to explain the situation and why I didn't feel we owed this amount. He said he would discount to $150 but that I would have to pay for the service that I did not receive and that is just how it was. I suggested that this was not good policy and certainly not good customer service for someone who could recommend the company. He was screaming at me so loud and was so mean that I finally hung up and decided to report to Revdex.com. I have never done this before but after mediocre service, never getting the quote I requested (which set the job behind while finding someone to do the work) and having Mr [redacted] scream at me on the phone was the icing on the cake! He also threatened to sue me.Desired Settlement: I paid the $150 for the work that stahl plumbing was not prepared for and ultimately not done but I feel it should be returned to me.

Review: On 6/2/2015 the washer discharge hose came loose because of negligence and faulty work done by Stahl on 1/7/2015. I contacted Stahl and they sent a plumber named Mr. [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] apologized and repaired the hose line. After the repair Mr. [redacted] instructed me to call the office and asked about how management wants to go about fixing the damages. The Office managed said that the damages to the basement ceiling and the flooded basement were not their responsibility because the damage was caused by backed up sewage and not the washer upstairs. I then asked if I could have their proof of insurance. The manager then refused to give me proof of insurance on the grounds that they do not have do provide proof of insurance before, during or after a job is complete. The office manager then hung the phone up on me. Mr. [redacted] apologized again for the management of Stahl’s behavior. I was very assertive and attempted to call the office again. I asked the manager about what they plan to do about the damages and also if I could have proof of insurance. The manager refused to give insurance and said the best they could do was instruct the plumber to wet vacuum water in the basement and hung the phone up on me again. I called [redacted] for emergency flood restoration. I also called The PA Attorney general office to get Stahl plumbing insurance to report the accident. On the morning of 6/3/2015 I got a phone from Stahl plumbing yelling at me and asking how I got their insurance. The manager said that I have no right to contact or know about the insurance. The manager also pointed out that if they are at fault that they will pick the contractor and the property owner has no say so what so ever and everything has to go through Stahl and not the insurance or the PA Attorney General office.Desired Settlement: 1) Provide customers before during or after a job proof of insurance when asked by customer

2) Take responsibility for negligent work and not blame it on the customer to avoid paying for damages

3) Treat customers with respect, be honest, and follow ethical business practices

4) Pay for Emergency water restoration of $358.12

5) Allow customer to choose a reasonable contractor of their approval to make the repairs. Customer provides 3 estimates to Stahl for review. Stahl can also provide estimates for the customer review.

6) Pay for all damages caused by the accident
