Stan Septic Service Reviews (1)

Review: 1st quote INSTALLED Well pump extensionReason for job: Stan Septic Service had repaired and installed the extension stack (pipe) out of the ground for my neighbors home. I spoke with Stan and he provided me with a quote of $350.00 to bring my home up to code with this extension stack (pipe). Presently I do not have any problems with my well. This quote was to just add the extended pipe out of the ground for easy access and to bring up to code.Tuesday-10/08/2013 Installation started on Tuesday with digging out to expose the well. The well was shallow and little to dig up. After exposing the pipe lines, Stan discovered that he could not perform the job that he had quoted. The cast iron (7 in pipe) was broken off at the top and said that he was not able to run the lines into the extension the way it was laid out. He suggested installing a stainless steel submersible pump. This involved the pipe lines-motor for pump electrical work and the required plumbing, material to bring everything up to code. His new quote was $850.00 with a 5 year warranty that would contain no charge for any repairs or material. I had called my brother and asked him to meet me after work to have him share his thoughts. After Stan explains to us I had agreed. Stan and his employee ([redacted]) would start the next day. He had also dropped the price down to $700.00 because my friend ([redacted]) was going to backfill the well.Wednesday -10/09/2013 Installation was completed and paperwork was given to a friend ([redacted]) whom was present during installation. Well was covered up with plastic and ready for backfill. I got home after dark that evening and could not take a good look in the dark. Job was paid in full by check. [redacted] gave me the paperwork and I had taken this along to work the following day to read.Thursday-10/10/2013After reviewing the documentation Thursday morning, I had taken notice that I was not provided with a warranty nor was a stainless submersible pump installed. He had installed a thermoplastic submersible pump. I did called [redacted] to verity that I was reading the information correctly. They told me that it was a thermoplastic and they are good pumps and that they do have stainless steel insides and that the top was plastic. Not knowing and still do not understand the difference, I accepted the ideal of thermoplastic. Then I had placed a call to Stan. He still insisted that it was stainless and to draw up a warranty and he would sign. I asked him for the 5 year warranty that he had offered. He told me that if any would go wrong to just call him and he would come out and repair or replace at no charge.Thursday after arriving home from work, I uncover that plastic and that is when I had taken notice that the pipe had a steady leak. I have placed a call to a close neighbor that is semi-retired from his family business ([redacted] Plumbing and Heating). He had shared that the coupling fitting was bad and would need replaced. Then I proceeded to place a call to Stan Septic Service to address the leaking. He said he would send his helper out to see what was wrong.Thursday night Severe flooding-road closed-could not get in or out.Friday-10/11/2013 Flooded out - inSaturday-10/12/2013Stan Septic Service came out and repaired the job early a.m. When I got back from my grandsons chess tournament, I uncover the repaired job. This is when I had taken notice that the pipe sticking high out of the ground was not straight. He had two cut about two inches off to repair the leak. I called him back up and expressed that I was not happy with the job. He sent [redacted] back out within about 20 minutes. [redacted] had agreed to repair the cut pipe with a new line into the house. These will eliminate all the clamping of multi cuts to attach the water line into the well. He told me that he would be back out Sunday evening or Monday evening after I got off work. He wanted to make sure that I was present when this was done. I had agreed. Monday-10/14/2013 Stan Septic Service came out late afternoon after I arrived home from work. He replaced the pipe and Stan said that he was going to charge me. I told him that I was not going pay that the job was not done correctly. I asked him for the warranty that I was supposed to receive. He asked me for the warranty that he asked me to draw up. Well, I did draw one up. He refused to sign and still refused to give me a warranty. He said that if I did not pay that he would turn me into the credit bureau. After he left, I was standing there looking at the installation. Could not believe what I saw. A very, very slow leak at the white tape. The gentleman that was present during the installation placed a call into Stan and shared about the leak. He said that he will try to come out tomorrow.Tuesday-10/15/2013Stan Septic Service came out and tightens up the fitting.Wednesday-10/16/2013Neighbor stopped and he took notice to a slow leak ([redacted]). Called Stan-he hung up on me. My well is very shallow. Winter is arriving and I will need to get this covered. I will need to make another decision on how I am going to get this repair and covered. I want you to be aware of every phone call and visit, except Tuesday and Wednesday of installation, we have verbal slander and yelling in order for me to try to have this job done correctly. I know this may not be a very big job. I do not think anyone should be treated in this manner.I would like my warranty (or partial refund to pay someone in the future) and reimburse if I need to seek another plumber to install the proper fittings to stop the leaking. Can you help me out or what can be done in this situation?Desired Settlement: Obviously I am not going to receive my warranty and I should not receive the verbal abuse. I would like half refund and wash my hands of this company.

I am rejecting this

response because: I do not agree with the check that was given to me. I did not

cash the check. I had another plumber come in and repair the leak. At the time

of the repair, it was suggested that I had to raise the ground level, due to freezing.

When the new pipe was installed, it was installed higher up towards my ground surface.

I had to have a truck load of dirt delivered and hire someone to grade and

block up. I have no 5 yr warranty that was guarantee. The first year pump

warranty I am still researching. Waiting for return call from [redacted] Electric

to see if my warranty is good with them. Stan Septic Service is not listed on

line to be certified to install this pump. So therefore, I am not satisfied.
