Stanley J. Watts Atlas Bronze Casting Reviews (2)

I have had a problem recently with clarification of the pose of the individual I was to sculptand although I am grateful for this work I had another project that was due at the same criticaltime frame. This second job paid on a bridge loan that was critical to the survival of Atlas, and the...

contractor demanded more of the job to be complete to release the funds. I finished and delivered the Statue in Question, and will post pictures of the finished work that will standfor thousands of years to honor this Marine and all those who have served this great nation. As a side note this was on a very fast track and all foundries require 90 days for a casting the sculpture was approved in clay after the expected delivery of the 10th that day was imposed by meand I had stated that that gave me a 2 week buffer and if I wasn't done by that date we could have a problem meeting the 21st. I do publicly take all responsibility upon myself for missing this deadline. There was a statue unveiled up the road for Montford point Marines that I installed a year before the unveiling and was given 9 months to sculpt. Both statues are valued by appraisers for over a million dollars. I am required to first do the best job possible especially when honoring those who gave theirall. I to will continue to give my all.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:I was never notified of any clarification regarding the "pose of the individual."  I was never made aware of this clarification issue, and Mr. [redacted] had a photo to work from since the beginning of the project.  If Mr. [redacted] had "another project that was due at the same critical time frame," he should not have agreed to complete our project by July 10th as was indicated in the contract that was signed back at the beginning of March.  Mr. [redacted] knew the time frame and importance of the project from the very beginning.  The statue was indeed delivered, on August 3rd (even though we had said the 1st - once again, it was more excuses as to why he wasn't there on the 1st, blaming the airline and his secretary), and without the bronze nameplate that we are still waiting for (we have given Mr. [redacted] until August 12th to have the nameplate delivered).  The nameplate had supposedly been completed, but "cracked" according to Mr. [redacted], so he would have to redo it.  The "very fast track" that Mr. [redacted] referred to was agreed upon by him in the initial contract - again, if he could not deliver within that time frame, he should not have signed his name to the agreement.  He never mentioned anything to me during the contract signing process that if he "wasn't done by that date we could have a problem meeting the 21st."  The list of excuses and blame continues to mount with Mr. [redacted].  The [redacted] Foundation demands the delivery of the name plate by August 19th.  The family of a fallen [redacted] Marine should have been viewing a statue on July 20th at the rededication ceremony versus an empty boulder where the statue was to be placed (family flew in from out of town specifically for the event).   Sincerely,
[redacted]
