I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
[Your Answer Here]I said I would contact another company to assist with this matter because *** was either out of the office for the day or had a personal emergency to attend toAccording to *** other "tenants" in the house did not smell fumes is not true. Firstly I do not have tenants. Some members of the family smelled the fumes and some did not. The odor is most prominent on the first and parlor floors. Those that did not complain much of the fumes are rarely in the house but do reside on the third floor. With that said I accept the company's offer to repair the improperly installed traps and I would however like a remedy for these ongoing sewer gases stopped and a stop to the suds coming out of the fresh air pipe they installed in my front yard.
With regard to the plumbing waste system not properly vented to the roof, that has been installed and the sewer gases are still escaping. I did not have this fume issue before commencement of this job and these fumes are connected to the initial installation. I believe during that initial installation proper support was not given to that fresh air vent pipe and created this could have this problem. Please do not send the original technicians that installed the original piping

We would like to confirm that today 8/**/14 we went to [redacted] and corrected both issues as per [redacted]’s request – the Fresh Air ‘T’ & the backwards ‘P-trap’. The home[redacted] stated to the technicians that she was satisfied with the work that we did during the visit.
Also note that Roto Rooter was on site at the time of our visit and their technician utilized a camera in the sewer pipe to confirm no further issues or blockages at the time of service.
Please advise if this will now resolve the issue.

Review: Stanley [redacted] Plumbing company installed a sewer line in my basement on July *, 2014. Since installation I have complained to company about sewer fumes in my home. The following week [redacted] reappeared and advised I needed to install two traps and a fresh air vent. Traps and fresh air vent were installed and fumes were still present. After contacting other companies to help investigate why fumes were being released, I learned the 4 inch 'T' for fresh air vent was installed backwards, the 'P' trap for the storm line was also installed backwards and should have a double vented trap instead of a 'P' trap. The fresh air pipe installed in front yard had suds coming from base of pipe on 7/**/2014.Desired Settlement: I would like all deficiencies corrected.

Response:

Upon the initial visit it was determined and described to the client that the building house drain was cracked and had many holes from front to rear of basement. We explained to the [redacted] that the building house drain must be replaced and that she had no house trap or fresh air pipe installed. On our original installation date [redacted] refused installation of the house trap and fresh air piping due to cost concerns. After [redacted] suddenly smelled "fumes" once the cracked piped was replaced we advised [redacted] that installation of fresh air pipe to exterior along with house trap would assist with the problem as long as the rest of the plumbing system was properly vented. After the installation of the fresh air pipe [redacted] claimed that she still smelled "fumes". Upon a follow up site visit - where existing tenants said that they did NOT smell any "fumes" - [redacted] alone claimed that she still smelled fumes. At this juncture we advised [redacted] that we should check the stack vent penetration through the roof. When this was done we found that the entire plumbing waste system for the building was NOT legally vented with a 4" penetration through the roof to vent the plumbing waste system. We advised the [redacted] to have this corrected and it would be an additional charge for us to do so but we did not have availability at that time to do the work. [redacted] advised via email that she would contract another company to correct the problem so we never pursued it further.

We have no issue with corrected the installation of the 4" fresh air 'T' and the 'P' trap for the storm if necessary. Please advise [redacted] to contact us at ###-###-#### to provide access and we will accommodate and correct if necessary at no charge and when convenient for the [redacted]. Thank you.
