In the process of preparing to sell my home I had several projects to be completed, one of which was installing new carpet, I spoke with a young man over the phone who gave me a quote of $1550 dollars, I proceeded to get two more estimates from companies in town, one was $1550 dollars and another was for $2700.
The estimate for @2700 was to replace all matting, tack, strips and carpet, the estimate for $1500 was just to replace the carpet.
I spoke with the young man on the phone again and he clearly stated, $1500, so I gave him permission to start. Once he was completed I received a bill for $2750 dollars, I immediately drove back to the house and inspected the job, no new padding, and all the tack strips were still the old ones. I asked for a detailed invoice which he refused three times to produce. He threatened to put a lien on my home and still has not produced a detailed invoice. The services I received were way overpriced and I cant help but feel that I was ripped off, I have made the first payment and I asked for a receipt and once again a detailed invoice. I as a consumer deserve to see what I am paying for, was the carpet a real high quality no, its used throughout rental properties throughout town. I am highly upset, feel as though I have been bullied into making a payment without knowing what I am paying for. I would like a detailed invoice, line by line, reflecting what materials were used on the job, and the hourly wage of the two carpet layers that did the job. Is that to much to ask for? Or are they trying to hide how much they overcharged me.

To whom it may concern, I have enclosed all correspondence with *** regarding the matter with flooring replacement. I continued communication the entire time with Mr. in regards to his flooring and at no time were prices adjusted from what was initially proposed and quoted. This is still not resolved, the original quote I was given over the phone was $1550 dollars, I did not receive a proposal or an itemized receipt, I told the business to go ahead and proceed with the work under the assumption that the agreed upon terms was the original $1550. I did not receive anything in writing until after the job was completed, the bill I received was $2730.00, there was no new padding installed, nor were the tack strip replaced.

have asked for an itemized receipt on 5 different occasions and still have not received one. I as a consumer deserve to know were that money went, I waited patiently for my itemized receipt and it still has not been sent, while waiting the business threatened to place a lien on the home that I was selling, now, I reluctantly have bad the bill so as not to slow down the closing on my home.

This is some shady business pratices going on at this company.

I have verified that the padding and tack strips are the original from 1996, and that the job with the quality of workmanship and carpet should be priced at only around $1500.

This issue is not resolved.

This customer wants money refunded, however we supplied you with all documentation and correspondence to this matter and it was cut and dry the process and pricing. We do not see any reason to refund money.

For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.It is obvious that I am not going to get my detailed invoice from this company, buyer beware, if you are selling your home do not use this service, they will give you a low estimate over the phone and then bill you twice the amount as originally quoted, then to slow your sale of your home down they will threaten to put a lien on your property to secure their money, pretty good scam, you are basically forced to pay to proceed with the sale of your property.

I have asked for a detailed invoice since May of 2019 to show were the money was spent, there was no new padding or tack strips put done in the property, they laid new carpet over old material, I had to have been charged for that material based on the amount of the bill, I want them to show me were the money went, or did I pay a carpet layer $400 dollars an hour to install new carpet over old padding?

Buyer beware, do not take these guys for their word, get a detailed invoice in writing before moving forward with this company.

I requested a steam cleaning of a couch and 2 love seats prior to my household goods shipment for my final military relocation. The 2 service technicians came in and started cleaning my couches like they were in a race. Even while they were doing it they were making excuses as to why it won’t get clean. They raced through, and really just soaked everything down to include my floors, sprayed air freshener on them and tried to leave. I had them go back 3 times to one love seat because there was dirt and hair all over it still. Once they dried, I looked at them and they were not clean at all! And once the air freshener wore off it was like I had nothing done for $294! I contacted Stanley Steemer that night (a Friday) and was told I would hear back from the management with in 24-48 hours. Tuesday I still did not receive a call. I called the company again and was told the managers were not available and they would call me back as soon as possible. Three hours later nothing! A Tuesday at 1:30 and no manager is available does not seem likely. I am looking for a refund because I shipped my couches to my new house. I have taken supporting pictures of the dirt that was still on the couches after they dried.

[We did agree to have them reclean the couch and refund half but I thought we set it up for 20 Nov to have it completed (yesterday) and no one has contacted me. I have not heard from them since we set up the reclean date and they have not refunded me half. My issue has not been resolved.]

We have refunded half her money and are re-cleaning her sofa today. She was set up for November 20th however we had to move it due to the unexpected ice storm. Thank you

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID. After some schedulimg issues, Stanley Steemer came out yesterday and resloved the issue.They recleaned all my couches and I am satisfied with their work. They took their time, made sure they cleaned out all the dirt, cracks and folds and my couches are actually clean and smell good now. Before they left they cleaned up the water on the floor and didn’t leave me with a flooded mess. They refunded me half my original payment.
