Overall, our home building experience has been positive. Stanton Homes has a solid reputation for delivering an excellent product. [redacted] was attentive to all our questions and concerns, even meeting us several times at the job site for consultations. We found [redacted] to be honest and straight forward, following through on all his promises.
[redacted] our project manager, was always willing to hear our ideas and make feasible changes to our original home design plans. He was able to coordinate through a rainy few months maximizing the time of our work crews. We thought him to be slow to respond to emails and messages but later realized just how poor cell phone reception is where we built our home.
Our home designer [redacted] was absolutely amazing! Our finished product is truly beautiful in large part due to [redacted]'s talent and skill in keeping with our own individual tastes. She has endless patience and a great sense of humor.
[redacted] from the sales end provided excellent customer service in every way. He helped us to plan and design our home and to select our rural lot. He did not pressure us into any options we had not discussed.
[redacted] the production manager, was always busy behind the scenes. She was especially knowledgeable in explaining costs and how to navigate the Builder Trend website. [redacted] was always pleasant and helpful.
[redacted] from the Field Team was very polite and thorough about attention to detail. He pointed out many small things during our walk through which needed to be corrected that we hadn't even noticed.
Despite bumps in the road along the way in this process it was certainly worth the end result since Stanton Homes stands behind their product and works to make sure their customers are satisfied!

We picked Stanton Homes to build our new custom home for many reasons: they were very responsive during our initial search process, they provided ideas for land opportunities (including walking the lots with us), they use web-based project tracking software that provides a tentative schedule and selection information, and were also recommended by friends.
Our salesperson, [redacted], seemed to be available nearly anytime we had a question. She was patient, and quick to respond with any home specification changes.
After we had nailed down our specs [redacted] was very helpful when we needed assistance with any pre-build questions including helping to get our bank any necessary information.
During our in-office floorplan design session [redacted] was able to help us redesign a few areas of the house to ensure we would be happy with the result. They can do anything!
[redacted], Stanton's in-house designer, has the patience of a saint. We always felt that we never knew what type of selections we wanted (lighting, plumbing, tile, etc.), and [redacted] helped immensely.
Our project manager, [redacted], is very knowledgable. He usually has an answer for any questions we have pretty quickly. He's very busy making sure any concerns are addressed during walkthroughs, or other meetings as needed.
We knew that when we chose Stanton Homes we would receive the dream home we wanted.

I have worked with Stanton Homes on many, many projects and can attest to the fact that these are good people who really care about their clients. I have seen them bend over backwards to accommodate people and they don't mind doing it also (which is rare). Anyone who is searching for a home builder in this area should really give them a call. Especially if they are looking for a good, solidly built home.

As a local real estate agent I have great confidence in working with Stanton Homes. Often I help buyers locate a homesite to build their custom home on. My job is made significantly easier because either the owner of Stanton Homes, [redacted], or one of his salespersons will visit the homesite and provide the buyer an assessment of how buildable the land is. They take a look at the specific site conditions to see if there will be extra costs because of the number of trees, the topography, etc. If a homesite will need a septic system they can provide the buyers with a reasonable estimate of what cost to expect for it. Without Stanton Homes expertise and willingness to be upfront about costs I'd have a hard time answering very important questions about the buildability of the land.
The Stanton Homes website is a great resource to learn more about building and new design trends. They also have a large database of floor plans to search through. I often hear buyers have a great time looking at the floor plans online. But, it is important to note that Stanton Homes can create a new floor plan or alter an existing one to specifically meet the clients' need. So, in essence they really are a design-build company.
I highly recommend talking with Stanton Homes about building your custom home. You will learn early on in your discussions with them they have their systems figured out. They have personable and knowledgeable sales staff, back office staff, a dedicated interior designer, and on-site project managers that are easily accessible and very knowledgable about the building process.","pos-8

Stanton Homes was incredible to work with because they are knowledgeable and customer service centered. They over delivered on every expectation and listen to what is important to the customer.

Staton Homes has not completed construction of our home and not responding to emails or phone calls in an attempt to resolve the outstanding issues. We have tried everything we know to get the contractor to complete our home. We have not received any answers to phone calls or emails for some time. The last time [redacted] has address us was on 4/22/14 at which time he came to our home to tell us that he had fired the project manager and would be assigning a new project. He said the project manager would be out the following week to complete the work. We gave him a list of items, he walked around our house complaining of how much it had cost him to correct the bad dry wall installation and left the shutters with us.We have since emailed him copying his office personnel, [redacted] She replied to the first email, 4/30/14 saying that they would sent out the Well Contractor to check the well and send out [redacted] to do all the other things on the list. [redacted] showed up the next day at 12:00 and left at 4:00. We have not seen or heard from anyone from Staton homes since despite emails and phone calls we have made. On 5/19/2014 we emailed [redacted] and [redacted] requesting resolution or we would contact the Revdex.com, NC License Board, and 5 on your side if we did not hear from them. On 5/21/14 we received a call from the electric stating [redacted] had told him to call us to install the electrical chase. He came on Thursday 5/22/14. We have received no contact from Staton Homes on this or the remaining issues. Below is a brief description with and list of a few of the events we have encountered.Signed contract 3/16/2013 we were told at this time 7 to 8 months to complete the home.Staton did not go for permits until 5/9/2013Selections for appliances, cabinets, electrical, and plumbing 5/22/13 by the time the ordered in January 2014 lighting items were discontinued; had to find the items ourselves. Kitchen items were discontinued and delivered two weeks late. Selections for tile and granite 5/24/13 when it was installed in February 2014 the kitchen island was not supported; we informed them. During a botched drywall/painting someone was standing on the granite; it fell and broke to pieces. We have been unable to get an answer as to whether or not the kitchen backsplash was treated to resist staining. We were encouraged to spend the extra, it wasn't that much, to do this but have no way of telling if it was done and have not been given an answer from Staton. Electrical started 10/14/2013 completed 5/22/14.Drywall started in November 2013 not finished with contracted items until April 2, 2014. Drywall and painting were done by two different contractors due to failures by the first subcontractor. The 2nd only did what was told of them fixing as little as possible. They did a good job at what they did but there are so many things wrong with what they had to work with.3/27/14 Staton Homes requested final draw from our bank. The bank sent it; we received the email confirming it was sent. We called our bank and ask them to rescind the wire as they were not finished with the house. Our bank did so and informed Staton Homes. Staton Homes replied with a treat to put a lean on our home stating the contracted items were complete and that we owed them an additional 6,000. We responded with a list of contract items that had not been completed and questioned the 6,000. [redacted] came to our home on 3/31/14, ensured us that all the contract items would be completed by 4/4/14 and the punch list would be complete by 4/11/14. He said he would look into the additional items as it did not sound right to him either. We released the final draw on the man's word that he has done business for years and would never leave things undone. He has not honored his word or tried to reach out to us.We can supply a list or item needed completed however it will not fit in this allotted space.Desired SettlementWe would like the following items completed within two weeks or funds to hire someone to complete.Contract Item RemainingBoard and battan shuttersSoffit on added garageMaster shower soap dishJCahnnel around bottom of houseFinal Termite treatmentAddress and correct - Touch up paint is not matching Globe on stone garage missing-was never installedRepair asphalt road in front of the house damaged by concrete truckAddress the issue of windows not all the same. While this is in violation of their contract, a one-time escrow of the final payment was allowed by Stanton Homes in order to assure the [redacted] that warranty concerns would be addressed, following the unexpected loss of their project manager.Stanton Homes enjoyed building the beautiful home that the [redacted] have lived in since that time, and we appreciate the opportunity to set some facts straight. The [redacted] signed their contract with Stanton Homes on 3/16/13. However, their loan did not close for more than three months - on 6/18/13 - with the delay explained in email from the lender as "Need more information from clients."Stanton Homes contract clearly states that work will not commence prior to the construction loan close. However - acting in good faith - we had the plans engineered and submitted building permits so that the project could get started as soon as the [redacted] had their financing in place. This resulted in permits being approved by the county on June 4, two weeks before the loan closed, which enabled Stanton Homes to have permits in hand within four business days of the loan closing. As the construction process moved forward, there were some unexpected delays. While we were in the process of ordering the doors they had selected, the [redacted] suddenly asked for a time extension so that they could check out a multitude of alternative vendors. This delay forced a shutdown for the next phase of building, which required doors to be in place. Five weeks were lost due to this delay, beginning with the [redacted] request to stop the process on October 31 to their eventual final decision on their door selection on December 2.Following this delay, a combined total of about four work weeks were lost due to road closures during unprecedented ice and snow storms in January and February. In combination with the three months it took for the loan to close and five weeks to re-select doors, this added up to nearly five months of lost opportunity to complete their home. There were also a couple of small delays in deliveries, which Stanton Homes strove to make more comfortable by special considerations such as providing a free $300 upgrade on the custom dishwasher that was on back order from the appliance manufacturer. Since we did not want the [redacted] to be inconvenienced in the meantime, Stanton Homes bought a brand new $500 dishwasher for them to use while they waited for their custom dishwasher. When the drywall contractor abandoned the job after completing a portion of the work, after 5 years of working for Stanton Homes, we made sure that the project was completed as quickly as possible. In response to the other complaints mentioned herein:The original project manager of the [redacted] home was not fired. However, he did not give notice when he changed careers into another industry. The [redacted] were immediately notified and informed that [redacted] would personally guarantee that the final move in list would be completed as quickly as possible.Records show that [redacted] responded to all messages within 48 hours. He talked with Mr. [redacted] on Wednesday, 5/28, just two days before the complaint was filed. In that conversation, [redacted] told Mr. [redacted] that he would have [redacted] on site in addition to being there personally the following Tuesday, to take a look at everything and resolve final punch work . Although the complaint was filed on Friday, [redacted] kept his word and arrived with [redacted] as scheduled, when he reviewed the list of complaints and assured the [redacted] yet again that we would resolve any concerns. We understand that building a new home can be an emotional process. We have designed and built hundreds of homes and have an unprecedented 18 month builder warranty. We will continue to perform all warranty calls and stand behind our work and our reputation, as promised. Consumer Response /[redacted]/Staton Homes's reply saddens and embarrasses us. The inaccuracies of the response is another example of what we have endured in the past year and 3 months. What was not address is how they plan to rectify the situation which is the point of this matter. Instead they attempted to twist the matter to their benefit. We are embarrassed that we have a home that is yet finished a year and three months later and that we have been brought into this situation. In response to their response: we can only assume the person responding does not have our full history. The $6000 was addressed. Contract signed date is correct 3/16/13, $5000 was given at signing for "plans and permits" per their contract, plans were not completed by Stanton homes until 5/24/13, their Brick Point Survey was not complete until 6/2/2013 which was the "need more information" the bank needed that Staton refers to. We secured our loan before beginning our search for a home builder. We can supply documents to support this and the reasons for the closing delays upon request, however that was not the reason for Staton's delay in starting as we had given them the money for the plans and permits. We can only gasp in shock at the their statement of 5 weeks delay for the doors; the answer to this is very long however we have documents that will proof otherwise that can be supplied upon request. Four weeks lost due to road closing- there were four days we were not able to get to work last winter.Yes we have lived in our home for three months; barring living in a motel we really have no other choice and who would not want to live in their home. It is very nice home; if it were only completed. It is not a comfortable situation to have to live in with sanding dust, paint fumes, waiting for workers to show up, never knowing if they will return the next day, waiting for the schedules for unfinished contact items but yes we are living here. One day it will be our home. We have lost time and money for storage and paying interest on a construction loan while awaiting the completion of our home. [redacted] did talk to Mr. [redacted] on the afternoon of 5/30/2014 not 5/28/2014, this complaint was filed at 8:30 a.m., 5/30/2014 before [redacted] returned Mr. [redacted]'s phone call. If Staton Homes returned all correspondence with 48 hours we can only assume they have the wrong email address and phone numbers when responding. It is now 6/18/2014, 19 days after the complaint was filed. We have seen some progress and hope this continues. We request that all the false accusations stop, that a sense of professionalism and respect be adhered to and we work toward getting this resolved very soon. We look forward to Staton Homes using their years of building experience to complete the contract items remaining, the punch list and continued warranty service.Final Business Response /[redacted]/Everything that we do is fully documented. The timelines and details we referred to in our response will withstand the highest level of scrutiny. We have responded to every request, regardless of scope, and stand fully behind every home we build. While we cannot guarantee scheduling or availability of every item, we hold ourselves responsible for successful completion for every aspect of our homes.Final Consumer Response /[redacted]/(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)We are simply asking that our home be completed just as any home owner would. It is difficult to understand how a company with so many years experience has such complications with scheduling. The contract items have not yet been completed. If they are not completed within two months which will be 18 months from contract signing we will file another complaint with the Revdex.com.

My wife and I purchased land to build our dream home on a few years before we started to research builders. We entertained numerous builders and a lot of them provided estimates much higher than our budget to build an all brick home without even assessing our lot. After surfing the web, we came across Stanton Homes, who supported military members who have served. They also had the program Homes for Heroes which enables veterans to save 3% off the entire cost to build home. This is a very good program compared to other builders because they did not offer an incentive for veterans. I felt they really cared about military members and wanted to do all they can do to give back for their service. I was very picky when it came to selecting a floor plan because I hope to be in this home the rest of my life. Once I finally found a floor plan that I liked, I sent it to [redacted] to get an estimate.
[redacted] later communicated with me pertaining to price and Homes for Heroes program. Stan [redacted] and [redacted] assessed my lot providing me detailed information concerning home construction and ways to cut cost. [redacted] took me to numerous houses that Stanton Homes were building that were in different phases so my wife I could see the quality and craftsmanship of their homes. I felt really comfortable with [redacted] through the entire process.
We finally signed the contract, but we had to wait until we sold our existing home before getting a construction loan to build our dream home with Stanton Homes. Stanton Homes held their price on the initial signed contract August 2014 until end of February 2015, even though there suppliers increased prices and the initial contract was to hold price for only 60 days.
We had a pre-construction meeting, then home construction started. [redacted] did a magnificent job with helping my wife I pick outstanding selections for the home at various vendor locations. She really has an eye for fashion and design, I owe all this to her. [redacted] was our Project Manager; he held multiple onsite meetings with us to ensure we received everything expected in home. He was very detailed throughout the entire process making sure he addressed our needs and concerns. [redacted] assisted us with the admin side such as permits and paperwork.
Although we did run into a few delays that slowed down construction, I am very happy with the home outcome once completed. Stanton Homes utilized a lot of trim and detailed work in the home when it came to arches, fireplace mantles, cabinetry, and etc. We were very impressed with the amount of detail the home had. We conducted a final walk through developing a small punch list with [redacted] and moved in home June 2016. [redacted] (Project Manager) calls and email us every week checking on status of home to see if everything in home was alright. Anything we found, he addressed immediately through [redacted] crew. [redacted] has been to our home on multiple occasions to complete punch list and to address anything that we needed.
One thing I can say, Stanton Homes really takes care of their customer after move in. Usually builders will forget about their customer once they receive their final draw for home construction; this is what happened when I built my first home with a different builder. I think out of all experiences with Stanton Homes this was the best, knowing that you were still important and a priority after home closed which created a piece of mind.","pos-2

My wife and I are extremely pleased with our entire Stanton Homes experience, and highly recommend this custom builder to anyone who would like a beautiful custom home at a reasonable price, designed and built by incredibly talented people who care about all the details.
Over the seven months it took to construct our home, we really got to know quite a few members of the team, and everyone was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable.
They helped us find a lot in a great community and told us everything we needed to know about what it would take to build there, including all costs and challenges. Our design team created a floor plan for us from scratch that is absolutely incredible. It fits our lifestyle, reflects our personalities and even considered the needs of our two dogs. We love it so much we held our wedding reception in our new home - and quite a few of our guests were impressed by what we could build with Stanton Homes within our budget.
Our project manager was always available to answer our questions. He kept projects on track, met us on site to discuss every phase and helped ensure everything was done right.
The builder's insights about every aspect of building (and his ability to talk with us about it in layman language) helped us make important decisions.
We tell everybody who's even thinking about a new home to build with Stanton Homes. No offense to the people who built our neighbor's homes - but there's really no comparison when it comes to quality, craftsmanship and price.
Quick update - It's been about two years since we moved in, and we still love everything about our home. We didn't have any major issues during our 6, 8, 12, and final 18 month inspections provided by Stanton Homes. A couple of small things came up, but they were quickly resolved. For instance, we noticed that a couple of our kitchen cabinet doors were a slightly different shade of white than the others. When we told our builder/project manager about it ([redacted] - who also designed the floor plan), he coordinated with the cabinet vendor, who came to our home and replaced the doors. We continue to recommend Stanton Homes to everyone who mentions wanting to build a home in the area. Also, our family is growing, and we actually are planning to build with Stanton again in a few years.

I am in the middle of building a second home with Stanton Homes, having the same great experience I had a few years ago when they built my first custom home.
My project manager, [redacted], is totally awesome. He is extremely prompt, patient, thoughtful and perceptive. During the framing and electrical walk through, [redacted] had many suggestions for things that I wouldn't have even thought about, such as extra outlets in the kitchen island for when I am baking all weekend and adding a seating area so my son can help "test" the cookie dough.  As we were talking about bringing additional elements into the house, he found a way to add a custom arched stone accent wall in the great room that will match the front porch. I'm looking forward to getting his advice about the layout of my closet, when we get to the trim walkthrough.
[redacted] is as terrific as ever - she is incredibly patient with me in the hours and hours we spent in design sessions and her ideas are amazing. I still can't get over how she can take such small color sample chips and make everything look so good together!
Stan made sure the lot we chose was a good fit for our floor plan. I know I can trust his instincts and I'm very confident this was a good choice.
My schedule is a week or so behind because of all of the spring rain we've been having but I've been kept in the loop and my project manager is working hard get everything back on track wherever possible. I have friends who went with another builder, and they seem to be having lots of issues with delays and communication - I know that can happen to anybody, but it really feels like the Stanton team is on top of everything and even if there's a glitch, they always work hard to make things right.
Since my first build, Stanton has added an online personal build portal and it is a terrific addition. I've found that as long as I make my choices in a reasonable period of time (by or before the due date on my calendar) that helps keep everything moving as quickly as possible. And it sends reminders for anything I've overlooked, so I don't lose track! I love being able to look at the daily site logs, pictures and the calendar and see what's going on each week and what's coming up next. And it's so much easier to get answers from the build team when I have questions!
I have nothing but praise for the entire team at Stanton and highly recommend them.

We knew that when we chose Stanton Homes we would receive the dream home we wanted.","pos-6

I have nothing but praise for the entire team at Stanton and highly recommend them.","pos-4

Stanton Homes was incredible to work with because they are knowledgeable and customer service centered. They over delivered on every expectation and listen to what is important to the customer.","pos-1

Despite bumps in the road along the way in this process it was certainly worth the end result since Stanton Homes stands behind their product and works to make sure their customers are satisfied!","pos-5

I have worked with Stanton Homes on many, many projects and can attest to the fact that these are good people who really care about their clients. I have seen them bend over backwards to accommodate people and they don't mind doing it also (which is rare). Anyone who is searching for a home builder in this area should really give them a call. Especially if they are looking for a good, solidly built home.","pos-3
