Review: I was hit by a tractor trailer while stopped at a red light at the intersection of SR 56 and SR66 in Apollo, PA at ~10:30 am on June 23 of this year. I visited the [redacted] select service [redacted]) in apollo, but was told it would be 5 weeks before he could even start the vehicle. I took the advice of my [redacted] agent, and sent the car to Star Autobody in Leechburg, PA. He got the car no later than June 30 (I don't remember the exact date). He was also given the full check received by me from [redacted]. [redacted] does not return any phone calls regarding the status of my vehicle even after repeated phone calls. I only get updates from my agent when I call the office to inquire. I'm upset over this whole incident in which I was hit by a tractor trailer that ran a red light while I was stopped at a red light. The police department in Apollo refused to provide me so much with case number, let alone a copy of the report, nor did they return any phone calls requesting that such report be made available. The owner of the trucking company [redacted] from [redacted], owned by [redacted]) refused to provide her insurance details to me as she does not deal with consumers, she only deals with insurance companies. Star has had my vehicle for two months now, and the only status I keep getting is 1 or 2 more weeks. My insurance company has continued to bill for a vehicle that has not been in my possession since the time of the accident. I've had to continue to pay the loan for the lien against the car. I've now made 3 payments to each. I didn't get a rental because I have another vehicle available to me, but at this point, would not be able to pay the rental contract off because it would have been over 8 weeks and my coverage limits would have only provided for up to a month. [redacted]'s responses vary depending on who I talk to. The agency itself ([redacted]) in Leechburg has gotten involved, but to be honest, it seems too little, too late at this point. I was informed by [redacted] that Star does not return my call because the number I leave on the messages, does not match that which is on final. Any complaints submitted to [redacted] regarding the handling of this claim are returned, and as [redacted] with [redacted]'s executive office has stated, the blame is returned to me, afterall, the vehicle is still my property, and I should have made a better decision. I acted in good faith on a recommendation from my agent. I am not a mechanic, nor am I an auto repair technician. I do not think that trusting an agent whose responsibility is to understand the implications and effects of all things insurance.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund, at least partial, of the paid amount, due to the extended length of loss of property. If the vehicle was this heavily damaged, why was the car no put as a total loss? I would like a complaint made with the insurance commission regarding [redacted] handling of this incident. And I would like [redacted], especially [redacted], investigated and cited for not providing their insurance information to the victim.
