Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:Dear [redacted]

Review: Lease Toyota from Star and return old car which I also lease from Star. Sales man supposed to take care of 4 payments

and under that circumstance I got new car. New billing cycle starts and paid 1 st payment. I am still getting bill for old car

that I returned to Star. As of today I called toyota financial and Star toyota many time with no result yet.Star Toyota did not send those payment yet and I am getting phone call from Toyota Financial about collection.Desired Settlement: Star Toyota should take care of those payment that they promised asap.

Business

Response:

SPOKE WITH [redacted] AFTER A GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH TOYOTA. WE,STAR TOYOTA, ARE MAILING A CHECK IN THE AMOUNT OF 969.58 TO TFS. THIS SHOULD CLOSE THIS CASE. CHECK IS BEING MAILED OUT ON 12/**/2015.

Consumer

Response:

I am still waiting to get a positive respond from Toyota Financial Services aka TFS. As of 12/**/15 TFS did not get any fund from Star Toyota yet which they promised when I return my car. I am following up on this matter very closely. I will let you know as soon as Star Toyota pays TFS. Thank you so much for all your help.

Sincerely,

Review: I purchased a 2011 Dodge Durango. Four days later the vehicle cranks but does not start. I called the salesmen and let him know three days passed while my pregnant wife's "new vehicle" sat in front of my house not working. I again contacted Star [redacted] and received little to no response. I then email the manager saying I understand you busy please let me know what do do next. Lastly I threatened to contact the Revdex.com as I am now. It seems that Star [redacted] is upset I decided to decline their aftermarket non-factory extended coverage. Which has a deductible and commonly declines claims. As a technician who has a bachelors degree in Automotive Engineering Technology, I informed Star [redacted] that the problem is the TIPM (totally integrated power module), this is a recall from Dodge itself. They then told me to bring it to my local Dodge dealer, how is that possible I don't own a tow truck. I have missed work and have had nothing but aggravation from Star [redacted]. They have been extremely unhelpful and unprofessional. The vehicle is still sitting in front of my house not working.Desired Settlement: Get my Dodge Durango out from in front of my house change the TIPM as soon as humanly possible and deliver it back to me it will need to be towed to a Dodge dealer.

Review: Used car sales person [redacted], will not return/ credit my 300.00 depositI was told this deposit was totally refundable. [redacted] also stated such in e-mails to me.Yet every time I call and ask for it, [redacted] has an excuse why he couldn't take care of it today. It has been over twenty days. I have made 15 - 20 phone calls and almost as many e-mails. each and every time there is another lame excuse. Now he is no longer taking my calls or answering my e-mails.The [redacted] has not return any e-mails or calls. I simply want my deposit returnedDesired Settlement: a full refund of my deposit 300.00

Business

Response:

Customer was refunded on May [redacted]. Money was put back onto his credit card.

- [redacted]

I experienced the worst customer relations in Toyota bay side. The sales person dishonest, inexperienced, I was surrounded by bunch of Nasty and Mean people, I was waiting for almost two hours and half to sing my paper work .The place is so dirty, their finance officer is such a sick temper person, he doesn’t know how to treat clients , he was so horrible; I left without a vehicle before the process was complete.

A poor sales manager and a general manager who made excuses for the sales manager caused the situation to go from bad to worse.

Its sicking how they treat customers…Never again will we buy any further Toyotas

I RECOMMEND TO NOT BUY FROM STAR TOYOTA BAY SIDE.

Review: DATED..[redacted] GAVE A CHECK DEPOSIT FOR A CAR .FOR $100.00 ....

Business

Response:

Dear [redacted],

We apologize for the issue at hand. We have looked into it, and saw that the check for $100.00 was sent to you. We are getting in contact with the bank to see if it was cashed or not. If it was not, we will be issuing you a new check. Please give us a few days to try and solve the issue. Thank you for your understanding.

Review: Lemon law and There was never a bill of sale provided to me to review and sign prior to sales completion, nor provided to the lender, which they directly contacted to increase the amount for the loan check behind my back. I believe the 2011 Forester had cost me over $28k on the sail alone, not including interest.

I believe this vehicle was a tsunami survivor from the March 2011 Japanese earthquake. Because of this fact, and the fact that I refused the extended warranty, I have been constantly had problems serviced by the dealership and its associated companies. The car has had persistent problems that sound like water damage. For insistence, I had to change all the marker and break lights in the first year. The driver side break locked-up and almost pulled me off the Southern State parkway west to Wantagh parkway north ramp. That incident caused a deep grove to be formed, since then the breaks have become worse and worse. The battery was replaced last year, but I used a jumper set to get it started for almost a year before that. Now when the left signal is on, the indicator sound (click, click) has begun to intermittently sound very different.

It is true that the car received ~$8,000 of damage in a hail storm. You won’t find any record of that except in my records and those of Star Auto Body. I went to Star Autobody because they were recommended by dealership. There were three main problems I had with them. They either used the same (removed, reinstalled) parts which were to be replaced, or did not use Subaru parts for repairs like requested many times verbally, like every three or so days until they told me to come & pick-it up., omitted “insignificant” parts, did work not authorized in the insurance companies estimate, and never completed the work. Even after repeat visits, most the finishing work was not done. I have had a few parts just fall off mostly interior parts that I have noticed.

I had the first oil change performed by them. This was wholly the first service mistake I made. They forgot 2 valve stem covers. Sounds minor except the pressure sensing valve assemblies cost ~$80 ea. Then while I was driving on Ocean parkway a few days later, by [redacted] park, the oil light came on. I pulled over opened the hood. The hood insulation flew off the hood, and I saw the oil filter cup overflowing w/ oil. I then drove north to [redacted], and replaced the filter and oil.

As for the reason I am contacting you is I have had the “check engine” light on intermittently for 2 years. Every time I bought in the car the Star service department [redacted], it’s actually a guy, says the car requires servicing, even if it was just serviced. They want $60 for them to perform the warranty work. When I pick it back up, the computer is reset and no record of the problem is noted, just that I refused their “re-recommended service. I held onto the oil this time, because I’m sure it’s not what was used for the last service. The engine light will stay out for for some time but always come back. Now I’ pretty sure it will not pass NYS emissions inspection this year, and I never want to work with Subaru again.Desired Settlement: I will seek a full refund only @ this time. I have tried to work with Subaru corporate on this for 2 months. They are nice, but the problem is the dealerships. They won't make appointments with accommodation to allow me to do my job while they do, or don't do there job. I feel the vehicle needs to be decommissioned. I feel that this may be a "one of a kind" situation, but even my lender had problems with the Forester that she bought. The only difference is that she does not take no for an answer, and had to go to a different dealership for her warranty.

I went to Star Toyota to buy a car financed, the salesman told me my loan was approved, then when I reviewed the papers I found out a Warranty was been included for $2200.00, I told him I didn't want it.
I was told then that I could not get financing on the car without this warranty extension.
I then refused the deal.

Review: I purchased a RAV 4 from star [redacted] on may ** 2015. I was given a temporary in transit permit. I traded in a car an 07 corolla also purchased there. I was told my new car could not be registered until I retrieved the title from my 07 corolla. I was told by a sales person I had 45 days to retrieve the title for the corolla which required me to travel to [redacted]. When I was able to make the trip I found I had only 30 days on the permit. I called Star then was informed by a [redacted] I had 30 days after he had specifically informed me I had 45. I was told I could only be issued one in transit permit. I rented a car went to [redacted] from [redacted] on June [redacted] gave star the title of my 07 corolla that night 6/**.I was then informed by [redacted] the bank would not approve of the loan because of income and star would try to resolve the problem. On Saturday June [redacted] I called Star was informed the bank had approved the loan ,my registration was in the mail and even got a return call to inform me as such. As of today 6 ** I have received nothing as of yet I have not been able to drive my new car which I need to work. I have a small business and do deliveries. I have no other car. I call and get the run around. I paid $350.00 for registration $80.00 to rent a car and have lost $1000.00 in income because of this. Please help me resolve this issue. I want to return the car and seek legal action for my losses. Thank YouDesired Settlement: I want my registration and claim damages due to their incompetence. If they don't comply I want to return the vehicle.

Business

Response:

In order to get the registration customer should provide us with the old title from the car that he was traded in.Customer took 2 weeks to bring the tile in.Customer was called and informed that the registration is in. Customer very happy and he is coming this afternoon to pick it up.Customer was ad vised for any other question to call us back anytime.

Review: I purchased a new 2011 Toyota Camry at Star Toyota of Bayside in**, and subscribed to the Toyota Platinum Vehicle Service Agreement. I have had five occurrences of an electrical breakdown within this past year; three of which happened within the past three weeks. The last three occurrences seem to involve the vehicles on board computer.Toyota has been unable to definitely repair my Camry. At this point, strong and appropriate measures need to be taken to definitely repair the vehicle or to replace it.I cannot continue to lose work time managing breakdowns and going back and forth between the service center and the car rental companies. The car would not start on February *, 2015 and was repaired by Star Toyota. On February**, the day after the car was returned to us, it wouldn't start. On February**, the car would not start again. This time Star Toyota stated that the repairs are not covered. They are blaming the break downs on a previous incident where the car had body work done dating back to May 2013.Desired Settlement: We are requesting that car is fixed or replaced and rental expenses covered as per our platinum agreement.

Review: We walked into Star Toyota hoping to purchase a 2013 Toyota Highlander, the salesman [redacted], came out and showed us a few different cars. We decided on a Gray one that we liked. Mark attempted to negotiate with us and after Mark looked at the sheet in his hand with the prices of the automobiles on the lot he quoted us $26,500. Everything seemed fine until he decided to run our credit card with the Toyota "Bank." He told us that the machine was not working and that it would take around 30 minutes, so we decided to leave and told him we'd be back with our plates for the car. We had already signed the paper that he had filed that said that we would pay $26,500. It had all of our information on it and all that was missing was the financial department of Toyota. We left the dealership and when we were almost home, Mark called us to tell us that the price had changed to $31,000. We decided to go back to the dealership and see what happened. Mark told us that he had been looking at the wrong price and that Toyota wouldn't give us the price because it was supposed to be higher, even though we already signed on the price. We were frustrated and asked for the manager at which time a [redacted] female represented herself as the assistant manager. We simply asked her for the papers that we had signed, which had our personal information on it. She refused to give us the paper, stating that Toyota needed the paper because it stated that we gave Toyota permission to check our credit score. When I read the paper, no where on that paper did it say that we gave Toyota permission to check our credit score. We threatened to call the police, and eventually did. The police stated that they could not file a report and that we'd have to take it to small claims court.Desired Settlement: I would like that our papers be returned to us especially considering they have personal information on them and I would like an apology from the manager on behalf of the salesman who gave us the wrong price, even after looking at the inventory sheet more than 5 times.

Business

Response:

The customer and used cars finance manager could not agree to the price ,customer did not purchased a car from us.Customer has his copy ..

[Your Answer Here]

I did not receive the original copy that means the company still has my information and can do damage to my personal finances via false credit checks I will not accept anything short of returning my papers. Also the salesman and us had agreed on a price but because he wasn't giving us the right price the company should have honored his mistake. I will not accept anything short of my papers and an apology on behalf of the company for the lack of professionalism and skill held by its employees.

Customer did not leave a deposit and finanlized a deal, and he is not entitled to get a copy of the buyer order.Customer also snatched the original credit application and his driver licence and all his personal information from the saleman hands. There is nothing further on our part to be done.

This is not reasonable. The salesman GAVE us the papers, this business is run by ignorant people who are not able to do anything who ran a credit check under false reasons because they gave us a false price for a automobile and ran our credit check and then decided that because it was the salesman's "mistake" that they weren't going to honor the ignoramus salesman's mistake. I will wait til they return papers that were for a false credit check and an apology

Review: Approximately two years ago, we bought a second-hand Honda Pilot from Star Toyota. When I got home I decided that we did not need the service agreement that was an extra cost to me. I went the following day to the office to cancel the agreement. I spoke with [redacted] and the service salesperson, they would not drop the agreement. It didn't sit well with me so I went back the following day. Again I was denied. I read the agreement unfortunately at a later date and discovered I had 30 days from the time of purchase to cancel the agreement as long as there was no damage to the vehicle. I feel that I was treated unfairly. And it is disgraceful and unprofessional if this is how they do business.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for the total amount of the service agreement. And for customer to be aware of the mistreatment by the salespeople and manager in this office.

Business

Response:

Review: I went to Star Toyota inquiring about a used vehicle, I was shown a 2008 Toyota Highlander that had been identified as a sale item of 15, 000 on the Star Toyota website. Upon leaving the dealership, I inquired further about the loan application price of 19, 000. I discussed this concern with the sales man identified at Chee who reports that it was for a different vehicle. I also advised him that the web site also provided car details which included the VIN number and the same Vin number was added to my geico Insurance policy. I then follow-up with the manager who reported that he was not able to sale the vehicle for the advertised sale price of 15, 000. I informed him that I was no longer interested and he advised me that my cash deposit of $300.00 would not be available for me for approximately one month due to the holidays. I informed him that I was not informed of thi9s process and asked for the deposit return process and he stated that he does not have a copy.Desired Settlement: I wish to have my $300.00 deposit returned to me
