Review: The school make all tyes of promises on elping you get training and do everything do make sure that they receive their money their money and not assist you in completing your education. They say if you need part time emplyment they will assist they do not do that. they offer sub par tuitoring and the teaching staff are so out of touch with what is going on in the work place that the information being giving is not used anymore. The School needs to be closed and restaffed in order for it to be successful.Desired Settlement: Money return for a terrible education program.

Response:

September 24, 2014This letter is in response to the complaint filed by [redacted]. The intention of this response is to address the item of concern mentioned in the complaint. The school states that they will assist you in completing your education.School response:[redacted] completed all of her core classes for the Medical Assistant program, and started her externship on August 9, 2014, she completed 92.30 hours of the required 180 externship course hours, [redacted] only had 87.7 hours left to complete her externship course. On September 3, 2014 [redacted] informed Star staff that she was unable to continue to attend her externship class due to transportation issues. [redacted] made the decision to withdraw from classes at that time. She expressed that she needs to get a job and apologized that she could not continue her education.[redacted] is eligible to return to school to complete her education when she has feels her transportation issues are resolved. This process was explained to her at the time she made the decision to withdraw from school. The decision to leave school was solely [redacted]', Star had provided her with all required skills and an externship site to complete her education. As a matter of standard procedure, all students are informed during enrollment into our School, that the student must attend at least 15 but not more than 40 hours per week to satisfy the requirements of the externship course. It is the students' responsibility to arrange travel to their externship assignments. The school staff makes every effort to provide an externship site within a reasonable distance from the school or the student's home; however the student must agree to travel up to 60 miles during the externship. Please see the attached Rules and Regulation, signed by [redacted] on November 8, 2013 where she was informed of and agreed to all of these requirements. The school stated that they will assist with Part-Time employment.School response:April 12, 2014 [redacted] was hired for the Federal Work Study program in the Financial Aid Department, [redacted] was informed on June 18, 2014 by The Director of Financial Aid, she was no longer needed due to work performance in the Federal Work Study program. [redacted] was very discouraged after her dismissal from her part-time work study position but expressed that she would continue her education. [redacted] took the dismissal very personal and started making written complaints to several agencies, [redacted] made the decision to withdraw from the Medical Assisting program due to personal reasons. However she continues to evaluate her education to the dismissal of her work-study position. September 20, 2014 when she received her termination letter she proceeded to leave several voicemails with the Campus President, with false information and accusations stating that the Campus President orchestrated to terminate her from the program, This behavior displays that she continues to tie her personal issues to her dismissal of employment and not the education she in fact received.Star Career Academy will continue to offer [redacted] re-entry into the program and allow her to finish her education. If any other information is needed please feel free to contact me (à ###-###-####.Sincerely,Deanna GCampus President
