Review: I paid $500 to this company to repaint my hood and roof on my Ford Explorer and I do not feel like the color is matched properly. I have gotten several other opinions as well and they all agree with me that the color should have been matched. The body shop says it is a case of new paint not being to match the old color on the Explorer. I am not buying that even though the Explorer is a 2000 model the original paint on the sides are in excellent shape and color, never having any paint work on the vehicle in the past. I worked in sales in the car business for over 37 years and I think I can tell when the color is matching on an automobile and when it is not. I originally went to the body shop of [redacted] and [redacted] and they recommended me to Star City Paint and Body. I am not satisfied at all and don't like driving a two toned vehicle.Desired Settlement: I feel Star City Paint and Body should repaint my hood and roof the correct color and would like for them to do so as soon as possible.

I spoke to Mr [redacted] and explained that I could repaint his hood but could not guarantee the paint to match because it was panel painted. He does not want me to blend his fenders because he feels the doors won't match then. The paint on his explorer is 14 years old and his vehicle is in great shape, but when u mix new paint it is going to be more vibrant because it is new vs paint that has been in the sun for 14 years. There is not a body shop in Roanoke that will guarantee and exact paint match for any panel painting. I advised Mr [redacted] we would repaint his hood but could not promise an exact match and he said he would have to get back to me. Hope we can resolve this but I'm not sure how I can make him happy.
