Star Heating claims the rebate paperwork has now been sent to *** *** That should have been done last April This marks the 4th time that Star has told me it was done or would be done soon Until I receive the rebate, I don't believe them and the issue is not resolvedThe only "paperwork necessary to file for the rebate" that I gave to Star's technician was a blank rebate form from ***'s web site He should have had that form with him since I made it clear when I made the service appointment that I was participating in the rebate programSince he was unprepared, I printed one for him, but it's something that's available on the web to anyone at anytime and it's not my job to supply it to them If their technician billed me improperly, that's their problem

Star Heating claims the forms have been sent.  [redacted] says they never received them.  Either someone is lying, or the forms got lost in the mail.  I will consider the complaint resolved when Star sends the forms again with delivery confirmation this time, and provides me with proof of delivery to [redacted].

I spoke with [redacted] today about the status of my heat pump tune-up rebate.  Although Mr. Yount of Star Heating and Cooling told you that he sent in the paperwork two or three weeks ago, they have not received it.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I want to sincerely thank you for helping me with my dispute with Star Heating.  I received two emails from [redacted] on 8/18 saying they finally received the completed heat pump inspection form from Star, so I marked the case resolved.
 
This was one of the most bizarre and frustrating interactions I ever had with any business.  I still don't understand why they didn't just send the form in when I first reminded them, and then they dug in their heels and basically just refused to do it.  When the time comes to replace my heat pump, Star's obviously not getting the job, but if it weren't for this incident they would have.

Review: On 4/22/2014 Star Heating conducted an inspection of my home heat pump in conjunction with a [redacted] consumer rebate program. I paid Star $77.60, which was to be rebated to me by [redacted] after Star sent the results of the inspection to [redacted] as required by the program. Despite my reminding them three times, Star never sent the information to [redacted] and I never got repaid.Desired Settlement: I want the $77.60 that would have come in the form of a rebate from [redacted] if the people at Star Heating had simply submitted the required information as agreed upon. Star's negligence is the only reason I did not receive the rebate from [redacted], and Star should bear responsibility for their negligence.
