I have not been able to come to terms with [redacted] in regards to this matter I had stated to [redacted] that his job was on the schedule for November to be pavedI am now at the point where he has made it clear to me on the phone and through text messages that I still have, that he no longer wants us to do the job for himHe keeps stating I told him to get a price from [redacted] which I never saidThe whole situation started with when we showed up to prep his drivewayWe ran into ledge which you need special equipment to removeI also was told there was only ONE enormous stump to be removed which turned into THREEHe told me during conversation he KNEW the ledge was there and the stumps were there alsoWe then discussed what the additional fee would be to remove the ledge and for the stump removalHe then chose to shorten the width of the driveway instead of paying the additional cost, at which time he got very angry when he tried to have a partial deduction from his final bill taken off and I said absolutely not, not only did we dig SEVERAL FEET of topsoil out but I also had a half day of labor investedUsually I would of worked something out with the homeowner if they didn't know but not only did he know about the ledge he also knew about the extra stumpsWhen I made a comment about the extra I had to pay for the disposing of the stumps he LAUGHED and said you should of just dumped them in my woodsAt that point we still had one stump on the job so we did put it in the woods exactly where he asked us to The next issue to arise was that a cable line fill when the truck driver was dumping and since we were there I took responsibility and called and asked them to fix itNext thing I know he's calling me telling me we also messed up his circuit breaker and wanted me to pay an electrician to fix itI said we were nowhere near those linesAgain he got very nasty with me in person and it turns out HIS SON BROKE THE LINE WITH A WEED WHACKER and that's why the main box kept tripping the circuitsThe original plan was to pave it July 3rd but since the line fell we were not able to finish prepping the jobWe returned a couple weeks later and actually went on a Sunday do to our schedule being booked to finish prepping itAt this time the area prepped was very soft in spots (like a sponge) and the worse thing you can do is pave itSo I told him at this time we were going to have to let the driveway sit and settle for several weeksI give a year warranty on newly paved driveways because I know they will last much longer than that and if you pave a driveway with a soft base you will have problems within the yrs and I didn't want to have to re- do the driveway so I told him we would have to waitNow my friend who owns another company was going to help me out and pave [redacted] 's driveway due to me being so busy and he told me he was doing it on a Friday which I don't have the exact date on meMy friend had another parking lot he was in the middle of and he wasn't able to finish in time to get to [redacted] and he couldn't get a hold of me to call [redacted] to let him know what was going on unfortunatelyWell [redacted] got so nasty with my friend that me and him had a falling out and at this time aren't going to be doing work together anymoreI mostly put my paving jobs in by hand without a machine like the old school contractors did because they have no seams and they last way longer and you can make sure there is no puddlesWhen I told [redacted] it was no big deal we would just pave it he asked about changing the angles where the new and existing asphalt meetsI have been out there once to meet with him about this and then once with one of my guys to actually do the cut and removal of asphaltI was very clear where we were cutting and he still tried to change the mark by almost feet, I cut where me and him had discussed in person and again he got mad saying he was calling a different contractor and his job should've been paved months ago and I tried explaining to him every time I have to come do work there it pushes him further outI told him he was looking at the first week of November for his spot on the schedule and he flipped out saying he was going to offer somebody the whole $8,to pave it and just sue meI then explained if he wanted out of the contract that was fine but over half the work was complete and I wasn't refunding the $4,He has sent me numerous texts and left voice mails I don't even listen to anymore because he keeps trying to say I told him to call MikeI never said I didn't want to finish the job and I had EVERY intention on completing it but with all the lies and anger I don't trust him to pay me when the job is complete- plus he made it clear he was going with somebody elseI have worked hard to build a honest, trustworthy business and it is very sad another small business owner is going out of there way to lie and try and be hurtful over waiting an extra month to get the job doneI have been a 100% upfront with him since day one and I never even charged for all the extra work and time we put into his job because we were suppose to discuss the additional pricing when we were 100% completeThank you
