To whom it may concern, Management spoke with the customer the day after of the day in questionCustomer was told that we would look into his interaction with the operator and we would take disciplinary actions if need be After review, the operator received approval to begin tow from an authorized agent of the establishmentUpon towing the vehicle the owner of vehicle did supply the operator proof that he was a customer, my operator clarified with the agents who authorized the removalThe vehicle was never removed from property nor was a fee charged When we spoke to customer on the phone we apologized for the inconvenience as this was just a misunderstanding from the agents of the establishment

Their answer is less than accurate I talked with the only employees working at that time and all three denied that anyone from their establishment called for the tow In additionthe statue regarding tow truck drivers states that in order to tow a vehicle that vehicle must be illegally parked for one hour ***, the tow truck driver, and I both talked with the staff and they all agreed that I was in the establishment for under minutes

After review, the
operator received approval to begin tow from an authorized agent of the
establishment. Upon towing the vehicle the owner of vehicle did supply the
operator proof that he was a customer, my operator clarified with the agents
who authorized the removal. The vehicle was never removed from property nor was
a fee charged.
 
When we spoke to
customer on the phone we apologized for the inconvenience as this was just a
misunderstanding from the agents of the establishment.

Review: Our nanny was in a serious car accident with our 9 month old son in the car when they were hit by a tractor trailer truck. Because of the panic at the scene of the accident and wanting to make sure that she and our son were ok, she did not take our son's diaper bag or stroller out of the car. The car was then towed to Star Towing. When she and we followed up with Star Towing to get our son's diaper bag from the car, Star Towing refused to give us our diaper bag back. They said that they were holding it as collateral for the tow fee. We didn't owe the tow fee, nor did our nanny, since the accident was the fault of the driver of the tractor trailer truck. I called our attorney and he said that they have no legal grounds for holding our personal items since the value of the car far exceeds the fee to tow the car. Yet they continue to refuse to give us our baby's personal items back. They are taking advantage and capitalizing on a day that was terrifying for us.Desired Settlement: I would like Star Towing to give us our personal effects - diaper bag and stroller - back.
