Starboard financial works above and beyond expectations. Provides excellent 101% customer service. I work with ADAM and his team they are absolutely amazing. They are all wonderful and very informative during our process. They guide us along the way until we closed. We are very greatful knowing Adam. As first time home buyer like us, Adam gave us days and nights with peace of mind. He is very responsive to all of our questions even in the middle of the night. He will definitely responds back at you no matter what he does. Adam's team represents very well STARBOARD FINANCIAL. Very professional and great people to work with. denied credit. Kept sending me the denial letter stating I had withdrawn the application. This was not the case. They refused to lend in Texas where a 2nd lien on homestead had been filed. I requested several times for a CORRECT denial letter. After 45 days still had not received the correct denial.

Through Starboard's caring and experienced team, I moved into my new home in no time at all! I never had to wonder what was going on with my loan as I received regular updates and if I ever had any questions, they were always available and happy to help. They are a wonderful team there at Starboard. I am very grateful and will continue to refer their services.

Excellent service, communication, online experience and always available to answer questions. Will certainly do every loan here from now on.

Review: When originally contacting Starboard Financial, we were referred to Jim F[redacted] from a family friend that had used him. Instead of handling our loan, we were handed off to another loan officer.

This seemed ok at first. We explicitly said how we didn't want any business information tied to our loan, it ended up that we had to do this after being told that we wouldn't.

We were told that we would be able to have the appraisal and flood coverage amount refunded from closing costs, but then, all of a sudden, they couldn't be since we paid them with a CC so that it didn't have to come out of pocket, and by the time the bill was to come, we should have been reimbursed. So we ended up losing about $900 right there.

In the mix of all of this heartache, we were told, a week before closing that we all of a sudden needed flood insurance. So more hoops to jump through, then not getting that payment reimbursed was just the icing.

All requests complete for the underwriter... should be smooth sailing... NO!!! The title company didn't get the papers from the loan agency till 4:45pm, on the day of closing. The title agency had to send a 24 hour notary to get the papers signed... but wait... they have the WRONG date... Signed all papers and corrected the date, then had to sign them all again the following day with a fixed date.

FINALLY get the house... for a good three weeks, more documents that were supposed to be filled out were trickling in from the lending agency for us to sign.

Now, just over a month past closing and moving, and we get a call today that the flood insurance coverage amount needs to match or exceed the home insurance amount... WHAT? Shouldn't this have been stated to begin with? Now we must come out of pocket even more to cover the house.

On top of all the challenges, the loan officer didn't even have a clear understanding on us being able to use the $2K that was set aside for repairs... Thank GOD that was resolved due to our realtor being great.Desired Settlement: We would like the money back that was originally promised, and would like the lending agency to come out of pocket to cover the remaining adjusted payment for the flood coverage. This is just another screw up from Starboard. Very unprofessional and I will NOT be referring ANYONE.

I am very pleased with the way that Starboard Financial handled my case. I mainly dealt with [redacted] and [redacted]. Both were very professional, detail-oriented, efficient and also warm and personable. They helped me make the whole process as smooth and stress-free as possible, and never made me feel like a number. They created a relationship of trust and took the time to explain things to me, and to make everything as easy as possible. I highly recommend [redacted] and [redacted], and Starboard Financial as a company!

Review: [redacted] our morgage broker had agreed to an interest rate on a loan update signed by him, the update stated that the rate would be no greater than 3.5 %. Everything was fine , then he calls us as we are about to close on a house and says the rate is now much higher. I told him that we are locked in and have a document to prove it. [redacted] said go elsewhere if you want that rate, knowing that we are close to the deadline date he must have thought he had us at a disadvantage.Desired Settlement: Honor the contract.

[redacted] from Starboard helped me with a very tricky Refinance just out of a divorce. My situation was complicated and required a lot of work on her part. She didn't waste a minute and stayed in constant contact with me, so I know the minute things happened. I really felt like she had MY best interest in mind which is rare in todays world. I approached 2 other lenders prior to Speaking with [redacted], who were very lazy and said it couldn't be done, but [redacted] had a full understanding of how lending works and assured me it could be done. I closed on my loan right on the target date she gave me, which was critical for me. I would not hesitate to trust her again if I ever need another loan she will be the one I go to for help!
