Starex Labs Garcinia Reviews (%countItem)

Full subscription charges for a TRIAL product, without having received the product.
July 27th online I decided to place a TRIAL order from Starex Labs for Garcina Cambogia. I was only supposed to pay $5.95 for shipping. I was billed the $5.95 plus a $19.99 for a coffee extract supplement in which I never intended to order. All I can think of is I hit the wrong button at the end of my purchase because of the overload of sales popups. August 11th and I still haven't received any of the products, but noticed my card was charged another $89.99 which is a continual subscription fee. I called the company at 877-201-3850 to complain about the charge. The representive told me my TRIAL period started the date I ordered, so I was being billed for the total product. I ask how I was suppose to try a product I don't have. She stated that I was suppose to contact them within 3-5 days if I hadn't received the product, but proceeds to tell me it should be here by Tuesday. She stated it was all in the print, must have been fine print because I never saw anything stating my TRIAL period started the day I ordered/without having the product. I told her I wanted to cancel it all and wanted a refund, she refused, but did cancel any further subscription. Next day I decided to call my banking provider to see what could be done. We had a three way call back to Starex Labs with one of their representatives. I got the same run around about how it's in print/agreement, so if I try to dispute the transaction they will win. I feel like this is a complete scam. The Garcina Cambogia was charge under *** which if you google it brings absolutely nothing up. The coffee extract product was charged under ULTIMATEBODMARTS. You can't reply to their email conformation, no website, only a phone number to call. They are able to get away with this because of fine print which is ridiculous. I don't care if it's stated in fine print or not, you should not be charged full price for a product you have not received. They should not be able to start your trail the day you order with no product, what are you trying? I got no shipping conformation at all. The second representative stated my first shipment didn't ship because of the wildfires in California. But, yet you didn't notify me and still counted it towards my 14 day trial period. I'm beyond frustrated. Guess now it's a waiting game to see if the actual product arrives Tuesday like they say. I canceled all subscriptions, so hopefully no further charges will apply. Stinks that I got scammed out of $115.93 from this company. I hope they can be stopped because I don't want to see this happen to other people.

Desired Outcome

A full refund would be nice, but at this point I just want to make sure this company STOPS getting away with this type of business. You should not be able to call it a TRIAL if you get charged full price before you can even try the product. This is August 12th and I still have no product. Order placed on July 27th. In my opinion they are purposely waiting until after the 14 day trial to ship your product, so they can legally charge you the total amount. You don't realize your actual TRIAL date starts the day you order. However, they can keep getting by with it all because it's stated in fine print somewhere.

Customer Response • Sep 26, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Received another letter from Revdex.com today, asking if the company has addressed my issue. No, Starex Labs Garcinia has not contacted me, doubtful they will. At this point I don't really see anything being resolved, so if you need to close the case that's fine. I am just trying to do my part, so maybe this same situation does not happen to others.

Lied re: "free trial" and did not account for health response.
I had ordered the Green Coffee Extract (Order# XXXXXX) and Garnicia Cambogia (Order# XXXXXX) back on 2/7/18. I tried to read as much of the fine print as possible knowing from past experience that these types of "free trials" will automatically go into a subscription without notice.
From my understanding, this was a "free trial" of the first bottle, paying only for shipping and handling.
From the description and numerous reviews of the product, it seemed within a couple of weeks I should have felt or noticed some sort of response to taking it. I did not.
I called them about two weeks into it and wanted to cancel. They said they were about to charge me to go into the subscription, and wanted to know why I was canceling. I explained that I wasn't seeing any response. They offered to extend the "trial" to 3/9/18 as sometimes it can take closer to a month to see any responses. I reluctantly agreed.
Within this extended time, I noticed that I became bloated with nearly every meal, which would last throughout the entire day, if not longer. The bloating has been uncomfortable no matter what I drink or eat - water or vegetables. Cutting out certain heavier carb items did not help. Exercise did not help. Fluids did not help.
By 3/9 I was at work and unable to call right away. I was able to call on Sunday, 3/11/18 to make sure the subscription was canceled due to my bodily response, which did NOT include the guaranteed weight loss or seemingly metabolism increase. The person that helped me said that they had already charged me for the subscription for $88-something. I asked him that I had not received anything and that once it came in, may I please return them for a refund. He replied that this was a charge for the bottles I had for the "free trial". Despite my explanation that my body was not having the effects and that it caused me to be uncomfortably bloated, he suggested the bloating could be a reason to help CONTROL FOOD INTAKE. I asked him if he was joking, or if he really was implying that the uncomfortable bloating was an effect that was to really cause me to stop eating to have the weight loss and he said that he was NOT joking. At that point I was rather insulted that he was not taking my complaint seriously and now telling me that the "free trial" bottles were actually not free at all. When I asked him again explaining that there's no way I'd be interested in this due to the fact the product was not working and only causing me harm, he said that he had to follow company policy and could not help me.
I told him that I would be putting in a complaint with Revdex.com and hung up.

Desired Outcome

I would like a refund of the supposed $88-something of the "free trial" bottles they charged me for. I also believe that this company should change their advertising to make sure it's understood that after only two weeks (not sure why only 2 weeks is a long enough trial period for weight loss/chemical change in your body) you will be charged for the current "free trial" and extended into a subscription for "X" amount of dollars. There is no amount shown to indicate how much this product will cost once you are charged, and if a person complains of an uncomfortable reaction they should be willing to refund.

I saw an ad on facebook for a weightloss product called Garcinia Cambogia. There was a free trial offer I decided to try it, knowing that if I did not cancel the company would continue to bill my credit card every 30 days.Shame on me for forgetting until I received the 2nd shipment in the mail.I began searching facebook in efforts to locate the company in order to access their customer service. All that was offered on that facebook site was a customer service link, which I clicked on, whereby I as able to leave a brief message (which I did telling them that I wanted to cancel my order at once) and would hear back from someone soon via email or phone.I never did. Then I repeated this process two more times to no avail.I received a 3rd shipment on Jan. 18th that I never even took out of the box, intending to return it My husband noticed concerning, unfamiliar charges to our credit card bill and asked me about them, but the company name was not familiar to me.I started internet searching what was on my bills, but nothing came up as legit. So my husband went to our bank today, just to find out that this company had charged us over $700 since my original 10/31/17 order. So the bank contacted the company for my husband to cancel this account, whereby I received a cancellation email from them.I immediately responded, just to receive an'unable to send' message. So I tried the 1-877 number listed in the email. This was the billing company, not the product company. The CS rep I spoke with claimed that I had received 9 different shipments of this product since my 10/31 order.I've received only 3.If this was an every 30 day contract, as advertised, how could I have received 9 orders (Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan and Feb)'The billing company claims that I haven't even received the Feb. shipment yet, but that they would cancel this one (leaving a possible 4).They claim to plan on refunding the Jan. order, too, but that's it.I then found a number to the company on the bottle, called them to try. They hung up on me.
Product_Or_Service: Garcinia Cambogia

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) I would like to be refunded in full for the 6 orders I've been charged, not including the free trial order or 2 others that I received.

Company ordering policy includes hidden clauses for continued billing & shipment. Return shipment refused by company.
I ordered a sample product from Starex Labs in Sept. 2017. I have since been shipped product for months with account deductions totaling over $700. I called the company in January 2018 to 1) cancel any future shipments and 2) return all received products. I was issued 6 different RMA's and a single return confirmation # (XXXXXX). I was also given the return address of PO BOX 41542 in St. Petersburg FL with instructions to return the product for a full refund within 30 days. I shipped all return items as instructed and received my entire shipment back with "shipment refused" stamped on the box. I then called the company back on 1/16 to find out what was going on. I was then told a full refund would be issued and there was no further need to return the products. I called the company back on 1/24 after only receiving a partial refund of $180. All demands to speak to a supervisor or manager were refused. Instead I received repeated lectures on the what I was allowed to return. I hung up and called back from a different phone to get a new agent. This agent kept me on the line for nearly 30 minutes before grudgingly issuing another refund of $180. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told there was no one to discuss this with and there was nothing further to be done. I asked if I could rereturn the product and the answer was NO. This is now proven to be a scam and I am still out $360 dollars. I will now be forced to seek fairness by other means - starting from this complaint.

Desired Outcome

I would like the balance of my money back. I am still happy to return all of the product because I haven't used any of it.

Starex Labs Garcinia uses misleading advertising and billing practices to sell their health supplements, scamming people, perhaps dangerously so.
In August 2017 an ad for Starex Labs Garcinia Cambogia came on my Instagram feed. Advertised as promoted by academic studies and Dr. Oz, the product promised to boost metabolism. You could try the product for the price of shipping. After receiving the product 12-13 days later, I was charged $89.00 14 days after my purchase. In fine print that was not clear whatsoever on my mobile screen, apparently when buying the trial you were committed to a monthly subscription charge unless you returned the product within 14 days. Obviously, as I received the product nearly 14 days later, this was not possible. When I called they asked if I liked my results as if one or two days would effect a change in my body. No medical professional would endorse that a supplement could drastically change the way you feel within a day. They refused to refund the charge and would not take the pills back. No reputable company treats customers in such a disrespectful, borderline criminal way. I did not send the pills for independent evaluation, but I would highly suspect that the pills they sell are not a)what they advertise and could be harmful. They are very indignant when you do call them and try to speak to them about their advertising and billing practices, as well as the quality of their product.

Desired Outcome

The business should at the very least make their billing practices more transparent to the customer. Currently, their main transparency in this regard is in scamming and misleading their customers. This should change. I will continue to report this company to relevant authorities including their banking institution as I also believe that the safety of their health product should be evaluated. I hope the Revdex.com can do all that is in their power to pursue this company for the quality of their product as well as acceptable business practices.

False advertising, aggressive tactics, ignored cancellation request, billed additional products, made refund difficult, unethical
I ordered what was advertised as a 30-day supply of diet pills for $5.95 shipping ONLY. Immediately as I ordered the company tried to sell me an additional product for an additional $4.95 which I declined. Within a short amount of time I received a phone call from a very aggressive sales person who tried to tell me that I did mean to order the additional product and he would add it to my order. I told him I did not want it but he kept trying to tell me I did. AT that point I realized that this company is scamming people and forcing them purchase items they do not want. I immediately told that sales person I did not want the additional product and also to cancel my first order. I very clearly said I did not want any product from their company ever and I did not want to be charged for anything. I was very clear about that yet the man kept talking over me and trying to tell me I wanted to the product after several times of telling him no in no uncertain terms I hung up. I then sent an email to the company in reply to the order confirmation, telling them not to send anything and not to charge my credit card. I then received a small package in the mail with the pills I had originally ordered. I thought maybe my cancellation and the mailing had crossed. I checked the bottle just to see what I received. There were 30 pills in the bottle with instructions to take two per day which means the "30-day supply" they advertised was only a 15-day supply. I then checked my credit card and found not only a $5.95 charge but also an $89.99 charge which I had never knowingly agreed to and definitely had not authorized based on my phone call and email. I then called their customer service and demanded a full refund. The woman offered me an immediate refund of 30% today which I vehemently declined. I demanded a 100% refund as I had canceled the product and never authorized the charge. She kept offering a 45% refund and $9.95restocking fee. I help telling her that I should not have to pay anything and she keep making me offers and trying to tell me how I should like their product and try it. The whole process for anyone less determined than me would have been completely intimidating. I finally got her to agree to give me a full refund of both the shipping fee and the $89.99 but only if the product was undamaged and unopened and I paid the return shipping and they received it within 30 days. I tried to argue that I should never have been charged in the first place. She said they had no record of me speaking with anyone canceling the product and did I have a cancelation number? I said no, I spoke a person as pushy and unresponsive as she had been and ended up hanging up on him before he could give me a cancellation number. She then gave me the address to mail the product to and hung up on me. I called the company back again and spoke with another agent and requested a return label. He told me they never gave return labels. I asked him what name to put on the label (as the first woman had given me the P.O.Box and city but no company name. He also told me to write the confirmation number on the box. He then send me the confirmations that had been originated by my first phone call, proof that I did speak with someone and requested a full cancellation. If they have to keep phone records, there would be proof right there. I told the young man I spoke to that even though they were giving me a full refund, I would contact the Revdex.com to try and help others who are being taken advantage of by this company. I said I can understand he may need a job and money but he should try to find a new one and not help take advantage of people. The package is ready to be sent and I have photos to prove the product is undamaged and the number on the parcel. I hope you can do something to stop these people and perhaps get people get their money back. Companies like his should not be allowed to exist.

Desired Outcome

I hope the Revdex.com will use the information provided by me not only to close the business down but to sue the company and help people, who were taken advantage of, recouperate their money. That would be the best case scenaro. No company should be allowed to operate with bullying tactics, intimidation, agents who talk over you and try to force you to accept "deals" that are not acceptable. Scams like these need to be shut down to prevent further loss and to give money back to those who were scammed.

Starex Labs Garcinia Response

I see that Ms. ordered a trial of our product on November 5, 2017. The Terms & Conditions state that the customer is agreeing to a 14 day trial of our product, and that if they do not contact us before the 14 days are up, that they will be charged for hte full price of the bottle, and enrolled in our monthly subscription program, which they can cancel at any time. I show Ms. contacted us on November 21st, the day after she was charged for the initial bottle of our product. We often make exceptions to our terms when customers miss the cancellation window by a few days, and we did this in Ms. case. She was not only issued a refund for the $89.99, but we also refunded her for the initial trial price as well, as a courtesy to her. Ordinarily we ask te customer to return the unused portion of the bottle, but we did not in this case. I am sorry that Ms. had difficulty with our customer service department, and I have spoken to them about this particular call so that future customers are refunded more expediently. I am very sorry it took two calls that day to get her refunds issued.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I ordered the diet pills online on November 5th, and on that same day in a phone call with one of Starex's customer service representatives canceled my order. I specifically told the rep that I did not want the company to send me anything or charge my credit card for anything. Not for the "free sample" or anything else. I knew during that phone call that the company was scamming people. I was very specific and if the tape of that call could be found it would be very illuminating. During my third call to Starex, one of their agents forwarded to me cancellation notices issued on November 5, proving that I did speak with a rep and at what time approximately. The rep canceled the additional products they were trying to send me but did not respect my specific instruction not to send me anything at all, not even the sample.

I was not expecting anything in the mail from Starex since I had canceled the entire order over the phone, so when the small package arrived, I thought it was something else I had ordered. Even after I opened it, I thought maybe the pills had been sent so quickly that my cancellation and their shipping had crossed. It was then I checked my credit card and found not only the $5.95 but an additional $89.99 charge to my credit card. In my call with the agent on Nov. 5 I had clearly forbidden any charges to my credit card and when I called on November 21 it was to get a full refund. The above response states that I was given a full refund of both the initial fee of $5.95 and the $89.99 which is correct. It was a hard-fought battle that the company did not want to let me win even though they were clearly in the wrong. The statement above also states that I was told I did not have to return the product which is incorrect because I was clearly told I had to return it within 30 days or I would still be charged. I was given a specific address for the return. The first agent did not tell me to put the cancellation confirmation number on the package but the second one did. Both agents told me I had to return the pills.

My purpose in writing to Revdex.com is that I want everyone in the country who deals with Starex to know what business practices they employ. I want everyone to be warned to never ever deal with them. If I had a say, I would want other people to get their money back. I am sure there are others who let themselves be intimidated by the agents. Starex must have made at least $30-90 per person on people who did not want to buy their products. The above apology is laughable when it comes to the way the agents treated me each time I spoke with them. I finally told the third rep that while I understand he may need the money working for this company, he should find a new job.

This company is trying to get away with scamming people out of their money. They intimidate and bully people and try to sell them things they don't want in a manner that should not be allowed.

I was sure the advertising I read said thirty days but I no longer have a copy of the ad so I cannot swear by it. However, regardless of the timing, I do not see how something can be called a "free trial" when you get charged for the bottle after using. In that case it is not free. Anyone who makes such a claim and then negates it in the fine print already shows their true colors. And maybe it is technically legal but it should not be. Also, the above statement says that you can cancel at any time. I canceled on November 5 but my cancellation was ignored. The company is making false statements and using their agents to bully people into giving at least some of their money before allowing a cancellation. Companies like this should be not be allowed to exist. There should be ethical and moral standards under which companies should operate and if they can't sell their products fairly while adhering to those standards, they should be shut down. Starex clearly has no moral or ethical standards they abide by and I feel sorry for anyone who due lack of other job opportunities feels the need to work for them.

Billing Fraud committed by this company is ridiculous and there is no way to remedy or get a refund because they deny and hang up on you.
I placed an order on 9/23/2017 for a $4.95 trial of Garcinia Cambogia. During the order process, while clicking through what seemed like several spam popups, I was dually charged an addtional $3.90 for Starex Labs Green Coffee Extract. Surprise but no worries for a $9.00 total charge, even though I didn't request the Green Coffee Extract. However, on 10/08/2017 I saw a charge on my bank card for $89.99 from NUTRASC*ZADROLLABSMORN XXX-XXX-XXXX UT that was submitted by the company on 10/07/2017. Puzzling for sure, since I didn't authorize this transaction and had NO IDEA what the charge was for. So I called the number listed on my bank ledger charge for this company and was put on eternal hold and then hung up on after asking for a refund and to speak with a manager.

On 10/10/2017, I was then billed an additional $88.99 by a company listed on my banking ledger as HEALTHY GLOW XXX-XXX-XXXX UT, billing submitted on 10/08/2017.

Again, I called the listed number for this company and asked for a refund and to speak with a manager. I was hung up on again.

I immediately called my banking institution and was told to come into the bank and fill out fraud paperwork. Also, I had to close that credit/bank card and get a new one issued.

The bank submitted an inquiry to the companies listed and got a return response that I had requested a cancellation of these accounts outside of a 14-day window term that - somehow - they said I had initially agreed to. I had NO IDEA about any of this and DID NOT agree to any of these sort of terms, nor did I authorize anyone to make any additional charges to my bank account.

As of today, I made more calls to the companies listed and was hung up on again. My bank said it has not legal standing to dispute or refund my money based on the information the companies has given them.

Desired Outcome

I want payments of $88.99 and $89.99 refunded to me.
