Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 12, 2016/01/27) */ We are committed to processing items so that the end result is clean, pressed and looking greatUnderstandably the end result for this customer was not up to parWe also are committed to promptly responding to customer issuesThe communication to this customer was not up to our standardsFor this I apologize We cleaned these items using our estimate of the correct care technology The place mats we received were created from two types of materials that were sewn togetherThe bottom material was cleaned very successfully, the top material showed signs of shrinkage The nature of the construction of these items was not communicated and the correct cleaning process for proper care was also not communicatedI do not know if these items were tested to identify if they were able to withstand any form of cleaning, let alone which form of cleaning would provide the best careWe had no reason to believe these items were not able to withstand any form of cleaningWithout thorough testing before the construction of these items it remains unknown if they can be cleaned in any capacityThey appeared to be well constructed and able to withstand the cleaning they receivedThey were washed in cold water with mild detergent in a specialty machine that uses minimum agitationIt is never our intent to have any damage take place in our facilityFinancial responsibility of these items has been denied due to the fact that we will not hold ourselves responsible for items that are unable to be cleaned yet appear to be well constructed and no communication with insider knowledge was offered to let us know the abnormalities

I apologize. When the issue was brought to managements attention we were in communication immediately with the customer. The customer was offered a settlement with a value based on the American National Fair Claims Guide for all Textile and Consumer Products. The customer denied the settlement and is now requesting over three times the amount that was submitted with the claim form. We denied paying this price and the customer has decided to take further legal action at this time. This is unfortunate for all. I would be happy to negotiate with the customer if and only if we can come to a reasonable settlement. We will not pay the full cost of a new suite when we did not receive a new suit. But we will negotiate a price for the 2+ year old sport that was lost in our care. We originally offered a settlement 45$ less then requested on the claim (there is no proof of purchase and the item is not new), this was refused. Without thorough testing before the construction of these items it remains unknown if they can be cleaned in any capacity. They appeared to be well constructed and able to withstand the cleaning they received. They were washed in cold water with mild detergent in a specialty machine that uses minimum agitation.
