S[redacted], Inc. dispatched my request to ship 2 cars from CA to MD to Starway Logistic. Cars were scheduled for delivery 15 March 2016. I began calling Starway midweek the week prior to arrange for delivery. They could not determine which truck would transport my cars and delayed delivery until the following Saturday (19 March.) We were told at 1 pm Saturday that cars would be delivered that evening. At 10 pm on Saturday night, we met with Starway. At that time (and only at that time, despite my many phone calls to their office) did they inform me that they wanted $1800 in cash or they would not give us our cars. We told them the banks were closed and offered credit cards and personal checks as payment. We tried several ATMs but could not get enough cash. My bank sent me to their Fraud department, my husband's bank shut down his card. We agreed that I would call Monday morning at 9 am to arrange for redelivery of the cars once the banks were open. Instead, on Sunday afternoon, they called to tell me they were dropping off the cars in a storage lot. I asked if it was near Chevy Chase where we live, they said yes. I asked what the storage cost would be, they said $40. I asked if that was per car and they said they would check. They did not. Cost was $65 per car per day. They would not tell me where the cars were stored until they received the cash in their account. This did not occur until Tuesday morning, although my bank reported that the money was wired at 12:30 pm Pacific time on Monday. Cost for 3 days of storage was $390 - plus an $85 taxi fare to the lot –which turned out to be in Virginia –a substantial distance from us. Manager at the lot in VA told me that she gave them the cost for storage of the cars when they dropped them off on Sunday. Why did this company not tell me that I needed to have cash on hand? Why do they only take cash? Why did they lie about where they put our cars and how much it would cost?

The only rating I could give for this scamming, lying, abusive company. The only saving grace is the female dispatcher who actually listened to me and did her job. There is nothing else to be said about this place in a positive life. Let me begin:
1. I waited for a call from them to confirm that they were actually headed my way to pick up my car, it never happened. I called them back and they literally had no idea when the driver would arrive. My contract stated that he would be there within two days of the contracted date, but that meant nothing to the dispatchers. The worst one was a guy, not the manager, who talked over me and SCREAMED at me when I complained that they would not give me any notification about when the carrier would arrive. He literally screamed over me. I hung up, called back and spoke to the manager who did the same.
2. I had to make special arrangements to have the car handed off since I was leaving for my new home on a tight schedule. It was incredibly annoying, and I never received an apology for the carrier arriving FOUR days after the contracted date. Well, maybe the lady dispatcher said "sorry about the inconvenience" but you know what? It is a little too late, especially after being screamed at repeatedly by a couple of rude Philly-accented blokes who seem to hate women. I had enough to worry about relocating, and I would like to be clued in on when I am expected to hand off the car I paid a month's rent to transport. You know, basic stuff!
3. The car arrived just fine. No complaints about damage etc. but the I[redacted] dudes who delivered it (not the truck driver mind you) were incredibly rude as well. They called up to me complaining they couldn't find the address, but they were actually parked outside smoking. I inspected the car, drove it, and parked it. He pulled out some paperwork and stared at me with this death glare. "MONEY!" he demanded. I responded "Well you could just ask me for it instead of staring at me." to receive another death glare from the other guy.

My car was delivered fine. I knew I had to have cash to pick it up. So I had it, got my car, drove off. The driver called ahead and we arranged a place to meet to pick up my car. We met near a car dealership near my address where there were roads suitable for a car carrier to unload a car. Everything was fine and I was treated courteously. This all took place in April 2014 shipping vehicle from Sacramento California to Sterling Virginia. Transaction was initiated with Shore auto transport but Starway was the carrier. I just had to look it up today for my brother who is looking to ship another car from CA to PA.

Review: Starway Logistics, LLC, came yesterday to pick up my cars for transport from California to Virginia. One of the cars had a stock roof rack and the driver said he could not take the car without removal of the roof rack, which was not explained to us in the contract that we signed with the shipping broker. We did not have the proper tools with us to remove the roof rack and the driver would not take the cars without a statement that we would give him $100 in cash (not a cashier's check) for delivery of the vehicles. I phoned Starway to discuss this and they are now holding my vehicles ransom for the additional $100. I have no choice but to pay them the additional money in order to get my vehicles back, though there was no indication that I would have to pay extra to ship a car with a roof rack until it was too late to back out.Desired Settlement: We have no choice but to pay the additional fee, since our vehicles will be impounded otherwise. I would like a refund of the $100 in cash or check.

Review: Starway Logistic LLC and their customer service department were rude and unprofessional. I was hung up on by one associate and laughed at by another. I was told that I needed to call the driver of the truck hauling my vehicle from PA. to CA. and was never informed that their was a maintenance issue with the vehicle. The manager was rude and offered no type of customer service and when I called back again I was told I had the wrong number and then was put on hold as soon as I called the 4th time. This company is new and is used by a few brokers to haul vehicles for the military and civilian sectors. The DOT number for them is [redacted] and the MC/MX/FF number is [redacted]. I was never made aware as to what company was hired by [redacted] and was told by [redacted] and Starway that I needed to call the driver and was offered no real customer service other than to bother a truck driver on the highway operating a tractor trailer. To me that raises a secondary safety issue and concern if this industry is conducting itself in this manner for all transactions. The truck driver also will not answer the phone or return any of the only two calls made and two voicemails left.Desired Settlement: anything amount that the company management or owner see fit to disperse for the lack of care with a customer regards of military or civilian customer. If a monetary amount is required I would say 476 dollars would satisfy my dispute.

Review: I had two vehicles that were transported by STARWAY LOGISTIC, LLC from [redacted], Arizona to [redacted], PA. Both of my vehicles sustained identical damages - the exact rub and scrape marks in the exact same location on both of my vehicles. The damage was done to the rear bumpers. The rub and scrape marks are approximately 14" in lengh and 1" in hight. All damages are 100% caused my the transport company in which look to be from improper use of tie downs to secure the vehicle during transport. The vehicles were purposely delivered at night - around 11PM - which inhibited proper inspection of the vehicles during delivery. STARWAY LOGISTIC now refuses to even look at the damage let alone submit a claim to fix the damage. I was also overcharged by the driver of the transport truck by $300 and STARWAY LOGISTIC refuses to acknowledge the overcharge and told me that the drivers of the transport truck are allowed to charge whatever they want.Desired Settlement: Repair the damages done to both of the bumpers on my vehicles.

To whom it may concern;

We received an order from Auto Transport Logistics Order ID:[redacted]. Our driver inspected both vehicles on 07/22/13 upon pick up. Upon signing the inspection sheets the customer agrees to our terms and conditions as it is listed on the Bill of Leading as followed:

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

1.) The damage done by Starway Logistic LLC was not documented on the Bill of Landing when the vehicles were picked up and therefore the damage was done during transport. I also have pictures Pre and Post delivery to prove this but Starway refuses to even look at them.

2.) In response to "poor lighting conditions". The vehicles were delivered at 11PM against my approval.

3.) The driver of the transport vehicle overcharged me by $300. Starway did not respond to this.

Hello,

This is in response to the phone call I had today with the Revdex.com regarding my complaint.

Here is a brief overview of occurrences.

1.) I scheduled the move of my vehicles through:

###-###-#### Ext. [redacted] Fax: ###-###-####

2.) I scheduled the vehicle transport 1 month in advance and was given a 3 week window for my cars to be picked up. [redacted] unbeknownst to me brokered my move to Starway Logistics and they did NOT pick up my vehicles within the scheduled pickup window. Because of this, I had to leave my cars at the house I sold and the new owners had to sign the pickup documentation since I had already moved to [redacted]. My signature is not on the pickup documentation.

3.) My vehicles were delivered to PA at 11:30PM without my approval. There was insufficient light to perform a proper inspection of the vehicles. I also got complaints from neighbors who were woken at midnight by the sound of a loud semi truck in front of their house.

4.) At the time of pickup the driver had requested an additional $300 then what was on the bill of landing. The driver was [redacted] and spoke poor English which made the situation worse. He refused to leave until he was paid. No receipt was provided.

5.) After scrubbing oil, grease, and dirt off of both of my vehicles the following day I noticed the damage done to both vehicles. Same damage, same spot, same size, same everything. See pictures.

6.) I contacted Staryway multiple times and they refused to even listen to me. They were extremely rude on the phone.

When looking at the pictures, notice that the scratches are the exact same length, in the exact same place, the same size, identical pattern, etc. On both cars they are just off center to the left on the rear bumper.

Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Thanks,

Subject: Complaint [redacted]

To: [redacted],

Regarding the damages, I spoke to the owner of the company and one of our drivers. They stated that if those damages were done from the driver securing the vehicle to the trailer, damages would have been much lower on the bumpers to the point where they would be almost under the car.

Reviewing the images, it shows vivid damages to both vehicles and are very noticeable. I don't see how the customers are claiming that they did not see those damages during delivery. If the customers were not confident to receive the vehicles after dark they should have stressed that to the driver and not accept the vehicles. Please not that our driver called ahead to make arrangements for pick up and delivery, therefore the customers were accepting of the time for delivery if it did indeed happened at 11PM.

I spoke to the driver regarding the $300 dollars, unfortunately he did not recall charging them extra money. He did say that if that were the case, then one of the reasons may be that the customer had personal belongings in the vehicle that would add to the weight of the load. For that reason, drivers charge the customers extra on top of their total cost. Or, if a vehicle would have had any work done that would change weight, length or height.

Thank you for reviewing this issue and let me know if you need any additional statements.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

1.) My cars were completely covered in road debris, oil, and dirt.

2.) It was 11 PM when my cars were delivered.

Given the two items above, it was impossible to perform a thorough inspection of both vehicles. The vehicles were delivered against my approval at 11PM. I contacted Starway the next morning and reported the damages.

Regards,

Review: I contracted with [redacted] Auto Transport to move my vehicle from [redacted], CA to [redacted], MD. [redacted] selected Starway Logistics LCC to move my vehicle across country. The vehicle was picked up by [redacted] on August 22, 2013 and delivered to [redacted] Towing on August 27, 2013. Unfortunately, my trip to [redacted] had been delayed one day, and I was not available to pick it up on the 27th. This is why the driver said he delivered it to a towing company for storage at the rate of $75/day without my approval, or the approval of my proxy. When I spoke with the driver and [redacted] of Starway on the 28th, they said they would not give me the address of the moving company unless I agree to pay an additional $200 over the contract agreement (for $1060 cash upon delivery). They felt they needed to break the contract (without my approval, or that of my proxy) and demand more money since they had to pick the car up in a rural area and because they felt there was too much stuff in the car. However, neither the location of the pick up nor the stuff in the car was deemed serious enough to refuse to pick up the car. Since the towing company was charging $75/day, I felt I had no choice but to give in to their demands. [redacted] e-mailed a note to me saying they have tried to resolve this breach of contract with them, but with no success. [redacted] refunded me the payment that was made to [redacted] as the middle man ($199).Desired Settlement: Refund of $200+$75 over the contracted price for the service.
