I purchased homeowners insurance with this agency 6 years ago and never had a claim until 3/19/18 when I had a claim for hail damage to my roof. The claim was quickly processed and a check was written and the roof repaired. However, there was also inside water damage to the ceiling and walls which the claim included. The money for the inside repairs was with held and I was told I would have to do the repairs myself, at my expense and then the money would be reimbursed to me. I have not been able to afford to complete the inside repairs and I believe this is wrong! I pay my premiums, damage was done and I made a claim. This agency should have completed all the repairs and paid all the monies. In my opinion there is no reason for this practice and I feel the practice is fraudulent and the agency does this in hopes that the interior repairs will fall by the wayside and forgotten and the agency will not have to put out the money in the end!
I called the agency several weeks ago about my policy info in order to change my provider and when asked why I explained this and was told that the agency owner would call me back to discuss my complaint but never did!

Finish the job All the monies for the claim should be paid or the agency should have the work completed. This is what I paid for...not for me to become a contractor or do the repairs and leg work THEN be paid for the remainder of the claim.
This complaint comes as a surprise to me. I spoke with Mr. personally on 5/7/2020 at which time I learned of his issue with the claim. At that time, I explained the path to resolution. Please understand that our claims are handled at a corporate level and not by this office or myself as the agent. I do understand that he was confused about the process for obtaining the remaining funds associated with his claim. I explained the process to him and he emailed me the required documentation and I promptly forwarded it to the Claims Department. As of today, his claim is re-opened and under review for the sole purpose of paying Mr. the amount owed under the terms of his policy. I can understand Mr. frustration and we are diligently working with the department who can assist him with a resolution.
