State National Training Service, Inc. Reviews (7)

Review: On August 1, 2007, I attended a seminar held at a [redacted] Hotel in [redacted], CT. This seminar offered a service that would provide individuals with an opportunity to prepare for a government career in either law enforcement, general clerk or postal service. It was described as an at-home course costing $995.00 that would be conducted via mail, which included homework assignments to prepare their students for taking and passing exams to obtain a career in this field. After being explained that there was a "money-back guarantee" if I was unable to successfully pass the exam after completing the course, I regretfully agreed. I signed and retained the contract as well as all of the coursework throughout the entire program. After I successfully completed the course, I was sent a letter of completion. After attempting to contact State National Training Service, Inc. on multiple occasions since I didn't receive any further correspondence, I realized the website and phone number were both false. I also began reading reviews of this particular scam online. I continued to try to contact them but to no avail. Eventually, I gave up and enrolled in a real college program and chalked this up at a loss. Although quite a bit of time has gone by, I'd still like to receive some type of reimbursement as I, as well as so many others, have been a victim of State National Training Service, Inc.Desired Settlement: I'd like to receive a refund for the amount I paid, totaling 995.00. All receipts, contracts, and paperwork are all still available for review.

Review: State National Training Service relies on high pressure sales and misrepresentation while preying on the unemployed. The sales person promised that this was a program sponsored by the federal government and that there would be no fee. I received a bill before the study materials arrived and now have an account in collections with their partner, [redacted]. There are hundreds reports of fraudulent activity with both of these companies from all over the country.Desired Settlement: Account closed and removed from my credit report.

Review: In 2008 I signed up for this fraudulent course. At no point did I or could I access this training course. It has been sent to collections and reported on my credit report. I along with many others were scammed by this fraudulent company. I made numerous complaints and I am refusing to pay for something I did not receive. Ihave made a complaint here and the state nation training did not respond to any correspondence.Desired Settlement: That the $2078.68 be taken out of collection and that it is taken off of my credit report. The fraudulent course was never accessible and I am not paying for something I did not recieve. I would also like for the state national training company to release this debt. It is unethical and fraudulent for a company to make you pay for something you did not recieve.

Review: In 2008 I went to a seminar. I now have two accounts on my credit report from this company both different years and amounts owed. I was never able to access their fraudulent web site training course, Let alone sign up and use their "so called services." . I contacted the debt collectors [redacted] and they couldn't give me information on why I have two accounts from the state training program. One account was from 2009 in the amount of $2,002.00.The second account was from 2010 in the amount of $3,899.00. I sent a dispute request to the [redacted]Desired Settlement: I want the debts cleared from the debt collector. I also want it removed from my credit report. and a certified letter stating that this debt was cleared. So I can submit to the credit company.

Review: This company has been reported to Revdex.com several times for scamming consumers out of money. At the time I came in contact with this company, in hopes of obtaining training that will put me in the position for employment with a federal/state. I did not authorize this company to charge me $995. That amount was optional to pay right away or not at all if your were not interested with continuing through their training program. This took place well over 10 years ago. I was never informed that even though I declined their service, that I would be charged the fee of $995 regardless of participation in the training. Now, the bill is in collection for almost triple the amount of the original fee. Currently reported to my credit report with a collection balance of $2,148. I have never received letters offering payment options. I was never told that the original charge of $995 with accumulate interest over time. I have been scammed and not willing to pay this company one red dime. I never participated in any of the services they offered. I want this debt off my credit report.Desired Settlement: Repair my credit. I would like for this account to no longer be a delinquent collections account. I want the balance to be zero and derogatory marks removed.

Review: I pulled my credit report a few years ago and this company appeared. When I contacted them via telephone AND wrote a letter, I got the run around. This company keeps reporting to the credit bureaus that I was enrolled in some kind of training program. I never received correspondence or training from this company! I went to a seminar regarding information on government employment when I was 19 and filled out a form requesting additional information to share with my mother. Years later this company is on my credit report claiming I have a $2400 debt with them!!

I have been advised to seek out litigation because this is ILLLEGAL!!

I discovered that legal action has been taken against this company already:

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (December 14, 2009) - [redacted] today announced his office has filed a lawsuit against a New Jersey-based company that sold a study-at-home course to unemployed New Yorkers with false promises that the course would lead to civil service jobs.

[redacted] lawsuit outlines a pattern of misrepresentations by State National Training Service, Inc. (SNTS) a New Jersey-based company that sells a study-at-home course it claims helps consumers pass civil service exams and gain employment. The company’s misrepresentations led countless unemployed and desperate consumers to enroll with SNTS only to realize afterwards that they had been scammed.

The suit seeks to bar the company from doing business in New York state unless it first files a $300,000 performance bond. It also seeks restitution for those defrauded, plus penalties and costs to the state.

“This company tried to capitalize on the economic crisis with lies, exploiting New York’s job hunters with false promises that did no more than bolster the company’s own bottom line,” said [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like for this company to remove themselves from my credit report and to get my name off whatever list it ended up on!

Review: I had applied to the state national training service inc. in 2008 for training in the field of becoming an air marshal through online coars's that this company provided. After a month I had received no course's I had called and complained and then opted to discontinue the coarse, and as it was explained to me in the contract that if I opt to discontinue the coarse before 2 months I will not be liable for the rest of the billing but will not receive the the payments already made back. I sent in 2 letters, the first was 3 weeks before the due date and I was told it was never received and the second was a week before the due date and I had it sent to be signed for and tracked through the postal service and seen the second letter was received and signed for 2 days before due date. I called the business the next few days to verify that the schooling was cancelled and 2 days after the due date they had finally answered my calls and told me the letter was still never received and that I still owed the money. That balance was submitted to a collection agency 06/2012. I should not have to pay this remaining balance due to the fact I did not receive any classes.Desired Settlement: I should not have to pay this debt for classes I never received and I want it taken off my credit report.
