SUNY Empire State College is committed to working with students to resolve their issues. However, we are unable to comment on public complaints due to the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act. We are also guided by policies and procedures of SUNY Administration, and the state and
federal government. This college has communicated with this student multiple times regarding her issues

I have over 134 credit hours that I completed including a residency for my Masters. The college refuses to grant me my Masters saying I did not complete a project? I advised them to let me know what project they are referring to and they refuse to do so. My grades were all above average and now I am in debt for this degree and they will not give it to me. I have contacted the president, the presidents secretary but can not reach an amicable agreement into how to resolve this. I feel the college is holding my degree ransom. I have also spoke to an education attorney who advised what the college is doing is illegal. I am requesting the college issue my Masters Degree in a Liberal Studies, if a project must be complete I would like the opportunity to complete what needs to be done. Thank you!!
