Staten Island Nissan Reviews (24)

Review: I have leased a vehicle on 09/**/2013 and was issued a temporary plates valid until 10/**/2013. To begin with when I came to this dealership, they gave me one price of the car, when I came in to pick up the car, they were trying to fool me and make me sign contract with the price of 250$ more per month than was originally discussed. When I told them it doesn't work out for me and they are fraud, they refused to give me a deposit of 2000$ back, until I called the police. Well that issue was resolved. Now the problem is that they have to give me the plates, since the temporary expire on 10/**/2013, and when I called them today, at first they were ignoring my calls, and after I finally reached them, they told me plates are not ready and please don't drive your new purchased car, they said maybe a week or two and theyll get me plates, untill then avoid driving the car.Desired Settlement: I want to get my plates.

Review: I purchased a 2008 Chevy Malibu for my daughter to use for school and work. The day that we received it I spoke to the salesman [redacted] and expressed that there is a hesitation when you step on the gas. The car was recalled for transmission and electrical issue with the steering so [redacted] stated leave the car with me and I will get it fixed. My daughter procrastinated for 5 weeks because she was graduating and started work. Yesterday my daughter calls me and says that the car died and I am 3 blocks from my cousin’s house. My cousin calls her mechanic and states the issue is a Mass air flow sensor that needs to be replaced. I called [redacted] waited 5 hours calling him several times only to find out that Nissan will not honor the commitment by fixing the issue. I was going to have it towed from my cousins house to Nissan and all they had to do was replace the part. They told me that the Mass air flow sensor is not part of the lemon law and I have no service contract. I had no choice but to spend 217 dollars to repair her car. I am filing a complaint because if a person buys a car from the orginal owner of the car that is for sale, I would have brought it to my mechanic to see if it is a sound investment. Nissan is a dealership that's been on the island for over 25 years. I did not expect this type of treatment. The part was only 100 dollars and they have mechanics. I believe they know about the part and pushed it along. Shame on them

FYI [redacted] is a young kid that works for Nissan it was a [redacted] decision.

Regards, [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like them to pay 217 dollars because when you purchase a car from a dealer it is expected that the cars would be prepped and tested for any malfunctions before the car goes up for sale.

Sincerely,

Review: Was under impression that I was getting a good deal until it was time to pay. First, the sales man [redacted] did not disclose the full amount that was written in the contract. Only after arriving home in the new vehicle I received a phone call from [redacted] demanding additional payment. Mind that it was 10p.m. when he demanded that I email him the confirmation of the additional payment that night. Secondly, I was given a temporary license plate tags which expired in one month. Two days before the tags expired I began calling the dealership inquiring about when I will receive the permanent license plates and was given various excuses until one month later I received an email from [redacted] requesting additional payment for the plates. My contract stated that I already paid for this service in full. To my question why are they charging me more money for the plates I was told that I will not get my plates unless I pay! I checked with the DMV in Virginia, where the vehicle is registered, and was told that the license plates' cost is $15.Desired Settlement: Refund $238

Response:

We never refused to look at or repair [redacted]'s vehicle, unforntunetly we couldn't look his vehicle on that particular day because of unforseen circumstances. Since we received this complaint we spoke to [redacted] and set an appointment up for Tuesday 3/**/14, he didn't show up for this appointment. Since that day we have been diligently trying to get [redacted] to return our call but he has not done so. Obviously the work performed over a year ago fixed the vehicle at that time, it is possible there is another reason that his vehicle is hard starting. The repairs that were done on March [redacted],2013 are covered by S.I. Nissan for 90 days or 4,000 miles, as far as the Fuel pump that was installed then would be covered for 12 months or 12,000 miles which we would honor. Please let [redacted] Know that we want to help him with this matter.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: this matter involves the false labor charges made by staten island nissan,,mgr [redacted]--------i was told by [redacted], replacing the fuel pump required removing the fuel tank,,,a costly long job.... I agreed ,not knowing any better,,,,as I trusted a nissan certified repair facility.......when I picked up the vehicle,,I personally talked to the mechanic who did the repair...and he stated to me " no, I did not have to remove the tank"------so the tank was not removed,,but [redacted] still charged me for 4 hr labor,,,NOT PERFORMED------further ,,,unauthorized repairs were made without my consent,,"fuel system maintenance,,$165"------total price $1223------to replace a fuel pump,,which a service bulletin says requires .7 hr------yes the mgr,,[redacted] called me and said "bring in the car" ,,, cant trust him.---i requested a refund,,for false labor charges,,and unauthorized repairs...4 hr labor $420 + $165 for unauthorized repairs-,,but my request was denied by mgr [redacted],,,-------my demand is a refund of$585 to settle this matter,,,,,I no longer want to deal with staten island nissan. I will go to another dealer.. car still does not run or start properly,,problem re-occured only 4 months after repairs,,,,but my wife did not inform me of the continued problem,,,..as it always eventually started.
