To Whom it may concern, We try to the best of our abilities to be clear and transparent to our doctors participation with insuranceWe clearly mark our waiting room in multiple locations including at the check in window and sitting areas of DrA***s list of insurance he participates withIts never our intention to place a patient in harms way of financial distress We base appointments on the needs of patients request of which doctor they wish to see or the time and dates the best meets the needs of our patients with which doctor is available for patients schedules [redacted] looked up on Emblem’s website and for reasons beyond our control was given inaccurate information [redacted] can dispute with Emblem as to correcting their information on Emblem Health’s website Because of this confusion we are willing to accept the [redacted] allowed amount as payment in full vsthe billed amount as was explained on phone to [redacted] on 9.**Also note that [redacted] has issued a payment to [redacted] $on 7.** [redacted] check number [redacted] [redacted] allowed $towards patient deductible for visit on 6.**and paid zero, note [redacted] considers a deductible as a payment even though $paidFor visit on 7.* [redacted] allowed $34, paid member $and applied $towards deductible To be fair to both we will accept payment of $( [redacted] deductible amount $+ $ [redacted] paid check to member) -$already paid by [redacted] = $as payment in fullThis is the amount that [redacted] has allowed/paid towards deductible [redacted] can take up disputing with Emblem as to correcting their information on Emblem Healths website Thank you, Staten Island Urological Associates

Its never our intention to place a patient in harms way of financial distress.   We base appointments on the needs of patients request of which doctor they wish to see or the time and dates the best meets the needs of our patients with which doctor is available for patients schedules. [redacted] looked up on Emblem’s website  and for reasons beyond our control was given inaccurate information. [redacted] can dispute with Emblem as to correcting their information on Emblem Health’s website.   Because of this confusion we are willing to accept the [redacted] allowed amount as payment in full vs. the billed amount as was explained on phone to [redacted] on 9.**.2015. Also note that [redacted] has issued a payment to [redacted] $25 on 7.**.2015 [redacted] check number [redacted].   [redacted] allowed $191 towards patient deductible for visit on 6.**.15 and paid zero, note [redacted] considers a deductible as a payment even though $0 paid. For visit on 7.*.2015 [redacted] allowed  $34, paid member $25 and applied $9 towards deductible.   To be fair to both we will accept payment of $225 ([redacted] deductible amount $200 + $25 [redacted] paid check to member) -$24 already paid by [redacted]= $201 as payment in full. This is the amount that [redacted] has allowed/paid towards deductible.   [redacted] can take up disputing with Emblem as to correcting their information on Emblem Healths website.     Thank you,   Staten Island Urological Associates

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I reject this response because if Staten Island urological truly did as they claim with insurance, they should have directed me to the appropriate doctor when I gave them my insurance card before seeing any doctor.  This is totally unacceptable.  They state that I should contact emblem health regarding this.  I have and unfortunately businesses do this unfair practice so much that there is a form to fill out regarding doctors that claim to not cover [redacted].  I filled this form out and emblem health was not able to resolve the matter with Staten Island urological.  Emblem health then directed me to file a complaint with the Revdex.com.  Once again I would never have seen dr. A[redacted] had I known he wasn't in network.  I told the receptionist I had [redacted] over the phone and gave her my [redacted] insurance card upon entering the office.  Someone should have told me dr. A[redacted] was not in network for [redacted] at that time.
