I can say the prices are advertised very low and once these guys bring you into their basement which is where they sell homes out of, you will be hot with outrageous fees to set the modular on the foundation. First of all who in their right mind would buy a HOME from somone in their basement! Also I read on the web these guys had 2 other modular businesses that failed already and left the client hanging in the wind and didnt deliver what they promised. Scary..: You would have to be crazy to do that. Stay away from the guys in their basement.

I am sorry I was mistaken as to the repairs that were made. In speaking to Bruce the grout in the master bathroom floor was installed and grouted by Statewide on site the shower tile was installed and grouted at the factory. The [redacted]'s complaint is the grout has a discoloration in both respective locations. We have remedied the floor, however due the size of the grout lines we may not have the ability to remedy the discoloration in the shower without causing damage to the tile. This leads to one conclusion that the client may have cleaned the grout with chemicals causing the discoloration.

It is unfortunate that Mr. [redacted] feels so disheartened regarding the rebuilding of his new home after Hurricane Sandy. We at Statewide Custom Modular Homes take pride in every project that we build out and know first and foremost that the customer comes first and all needs can and will be meet timely.
Mr [redacted] project is an elaborate custom modular home, with this being stated we at Statewide Custom Modular Homes take the plans according to specifications as deemed by engineering firms along with Architectural firms and build out accordingly. In this case there was a discrepancy with the plans and load points and a remedy needed to occur, this took 90 days as the engineers had to come out to the site and make necessary calculations to remedy this matter. Yes, we lost valuable time with township re-review to approve the remedy along with numerous other bureaucratic red tape, however all throughout that process we were in contact with Mr. [redacted] and explained exactly what was happening and that we would have it remedied as quickly as we possible. The remedy has since been completed and we are moving towards final inspections within the next 30 days.
We have compensated Mr. [redacted] his monthly rent due to the delay and will continue to compensate him until he is issued a Certificate of Occupancy from the township, and this not being contractually obligated by Statewide, however we are good, honest builders and we take pride in our reputation.

I am rejecting this response because:
The latest response to the Revdex.com which Statewide submitted, listed 7 items which Statewide reported were done since my last response. These are all items which did not require any inspection by the township and should have been done several months ago. I commend [redacted] Twp. for there rapid dispatch of inspectors and the quick issuance of  permits thus far during the construction of my home. The delay is all due to the fact that statewide did not call for any particular inspection, reason being, they did not have the work completed for inspection. As to Mr. [redacted]'s statement regarding phone calls made, I am still waiting for a return phone call from him regarding the several calls I made to him during the first two weeks of June. The phone calls I made to Mr. [redacted] were a result of the no work being done at my house. Due to fact that Mr. [redacted] did not return any of my communication attempts, is what led me to file this complaint with the Revdex.com.  This being, after [redacted] stated on June 2nd, 2014, that my house would be completed during the first few days of July, 2014. Statewide did not do any work an my house from May 31st until July 1st (2014). July 2, the deadline day in which they had to respond to the Revdex.com complaint I submitted. On July 2nd, Statewide had the gutters installed on my house. I thank the Revdex.com for any influence they had on Statewide to start to work on my house.
Today marks nine months since my house was set on the foundation. The contract I signed with Statewide, listed a completion date of 16-20 weeks after being set. It is now 19 weeks past the contract completion date.
As of this writing, Statewide has not done any work on my house for three consecutive days. Statewide's response to the Revdex.com on July 2nd contained a statement in which read that my house will be completed in 30 days (July 31st 2014). Only six days remain till July 31st. There is still a tremendous amount of work remaining, and there still is no running water in my house! It is apparent, that they will once again, fail to meet their date for completion of my house.

Review: Statewide delivered the wrong layout of the home I purchased, along with missing items which I had paid for. The home never came with Kitchen Counter tops, bathroom sinks, Window shutters, and had several missing Hardwood floor steps. I also never received a copy of they floor plan they used ( the wrong one) to build my home as the township will require it. I've gone ahead and given up on receiving kitchen counter tops, as [redacted] changed what we agreed upon for resolving that issue, in the middle of ordering them. As he refused to pay even a portion of the counter tops, and or refunded for the missing ones. ( I have copies of all contracts, and original layouts showing kitchen counter tops were included. ) They never even acknowledged that had several hardwood floor steps missing. I ended up paying for them out of my pocket as it was a hazard for contractors to work in the home. I have waited for 5 months on bathroom sinks to be delivered, a 1000.00 dollar check which both parties agreed too, for the layout mistake, and window shutters. The bathroom sinks were delivered on 8-7-2015. They are the wrong colors and sizes. They are completely unusable. I contacted statewide through email and phone and have yet to even get a response. The undersigned can provide all emails between myself and statewide, showing that they were aware of the problems but have done nothing in a almost 6 months to correct it.Desired Settlement: The 1000.00 dollar check for the layout mistake as agreed. Deliver the window shutters, and correct bathroom sinks, or compensate me for them.

To whom it may concern,

Review: I am a victim of Super Storm Sandy and my house was a 100% total loss. On 11/28/12, I contracted with Statewide Custom Modular Homes to purchase my new house. I was assured by the owners of Statewide ([redacted] and [redacted]) that I was their first customer who was a victim of Sandy to actually sign a contract and pay a deposit. Therefore, my house was there first priority to be built. They stated they work on a first come first serve basis. They further stated that they will not take on more homes then they can handle (20 maximum) at any time to ensure every home is built in a timely manner. The day I signed my contract 11/28/12, Statewide informed me that it would take approximately 6 months to a year to complete my house with a certificate of occupancy. As of this writing my house is still not yet completed.

Every additional date of completion Statewide has given since has come and gone. Most recently, [redacted] informed me my house would be completed by the end of this month or early July. No work has been done on the house since My 30th, 2014. Numerous occasions have occurred over the last 1/ 1/2 years where statewide has not done any work on my house for a month at a time.

After being informed by Statewide that my ground floor wold be heated, statewide is now informing me the ground floor will be left unfinished (no drywall, insulation etc.)

Additionally, Several additional items which I requested statewide to construct into the home during the planning phase have not been added. Major problems in construction have also occurred. First and foremost, several pilings were not installed in the proper location resulting in footing and steel poles being installed after the modular house pieces were set. This is not the house I contracted for.

As you can see, the entire process I have endured with Statewide has been a nightmare. I am suffering physically and mentally from the stress of dealing with Statewide as well as the financial burdens.Desired Settlement: Finish the job to my satisfaction by July 18th, 2014 one month from today.

Review: Statewide set our modular home on 2/7/2014, with an estimated finish time of 16 to 20 weeks. We are now at 39 weeks and they keep promising to finish our punch list, but nothing ever gets done. The people running the job never answer their phone and the people in the office claim they don't know where we are on the schedule. We sent a certified letter to their office and they received it on 10/17/2014. It was never acknowledged. I have the receipt, a copy of the letter and a printout of when it was delivered. There isn't a lot of things we need to have done and they aren't difficult things to fix. We don't understand why this taking so long.Desired Settlement: To be able to move into our new home and to be done dealing with Statewide Modular.
