Statewide Roadside Assistance Reviews (3)

Review: August 11, 2014, at [redacted] I notice that my tire was flat. I called Roadside Assistance at 4:13 pm. I was notified that I would have to be TOWED. After about an hour, I received a call back from Roadside Assistance making sure that the tow truck had arrived, which it had not. They contacted the towing company for me, stating the tow truck operator had been delayed and would be there in another 30 mins. My new estimated time of service arrival was now 5:25pm. Understanding that things happen we waited. I called back, noting that they had not arrived yet. Roadside Assistance contacted the towing company again, stating that the tow truck had just entered [redacted]. At 6:15pm, I contacted the towing company, SRA (Statewide Roadside Assistance) DIRECTLY and spoke to a dispatcher stating that it had been nearly an hour since their driver had entered [redacted] and had not made it to us yet. Without any apologies, the woman gave me a number of excuses as to WHY the tow truck operator was NOT there yet, she was NOT sure why they had even taken a call to pick up at [redacted], since GA's Security personnel made them “jump through hoops ” in order to get into the parking lot and the driver would have to “fill out a bunch of paperwork and sign it in order to even get into the parking lot” She tried to contact the driver 3x without any success and it must have been because he was “out of his truck, dealing with security” She assured me that he WAS THERE and was in the process of looking for me. AT NO TIME DID THE DRIVER CONTACT ME. I contacted Roadside Assistance again at 7pm, 7:30pm, 8:05pm, and 8:56pm; At 9:10pm, NEARLY 5 HOURS AFTER MY INITIAL CALL they connected me with the dispatcher, who initiated a 3 way call so I could speak with the driver. SRA Towing Company lied to both me and Roadside Assistance stating multiple times that they were on the way but were not. A truck came at about 9:30pm. UNACCEPTABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES.Desired Settlement: I wanted to let the public know NOT to deal with this company. Apparently this is NOT the first issue they have had :(

In speaking with [redacted] Security previous to final call to business, security contacted all of their security guards on duty stating that at no time had a tow truck come into the park. They also stated that they do NOT make tow trucks complete the paperwork that the towing company had described (once again Statewide Roadside Assistance lied to us). The head of security informed the security guards that when the tow truck arrived, where we were and to send them to us. She also gave us her direct contact number and told us to call her if we had any issues once the tow truck arrived.

Review: My truck was towed to this business "address unknown at time" on 2 June 2014 after he never showed up at my residence to diagnose the problem "[redacted]", and provide an written estimate, the mechanic ([redacted]) called me and diagnosed the problem as Turbo charger and multiple other parts and I told him that if he was sure that was it then repair it. After approx 20 phone calls, text messages and Emails over the course of five days the last of which stated I was going to report the truck stolen he finally got back to me and told me where my truck was located and the truck would be repaired 10 June 2014, I called NUMEROUS time during the day to verify and got no answer, just as I arrived at the shop to pick up the truck I received a phone call "[redacted]" telling me the truck wasn't started yet and it would be done BY MORNING of 11 June 2014. After calling MULTIPLE times during THAT day, "again no answer" I drove to the address and discovered that they where working on my vehicle on the sidewalk on [redacted] and weren't done yet approx 4:30 PM, he assured me that that they had solved the problem and told me that BRAND NEW part that was just installed was bad, I asked if he tested it and he said no but his part was NEWER so it was better, I told him to put the the original part back on. They "finished" the repairs at 7 PM while I waited in the office! The next morning when I went to go to work the truck did the SAME thing I wanted REPAIRED! Now I have to pay another mechanic AGAIN to fix the problem that I paid over $1400 to have repaired!Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the LABOR costs ($570) so I can get a qualified mechanic to repair it. The Parts that were installed were already "marked up" so I feel the the markup is profit enough for failing to fix the problem they were contracted to fix!

Review: Got towed to this place when car broke down while we were on a weekend vacation because tow driver assured us that we'd get a fair price and our repair would be done next day. We got our car back 4 days later, 6 hrs AFTER mgr said it would be done - we waited in lot for 2 of those 6 hrs because at this pt, I wasn't going anywhere w/o my car. Mgr said it had clogged catalytic converter and he's not supposed to, but he unclogged it for us to save us money. What he DIDN'T tell us was that he illegally tampered with and scraped the platinum from our converter which then made the warranty on it VOID. We found THIS out when engine light lit again less than 24 hrs after it was "repaired" and we took it to dealer because our OWN mechanic told us we were under warranty for converter from Chevy. It gets worse. Statewide's mechanic also butchered our exhaust system which we never had a problem with, presumably while they were installing a throttle body. Total cost of being ripped off by Statewide: $630. To replace exhaust system and get a new catalytic converter will cost us another $2200. There were violent threats made ag/ us by mgr when I informed him we were going to dispute credit card charge so now police are involved.Desired Settlement: We are planning legal action ag/ Statewide to get the $2200 replacement cost refunded. I am going to dispute credit card charge and have started paperwork at my end on that. I have reported their tow co to our insur co who recommended them in the first place to be removed from their list so no one else has to go thru what we have. We are considering filing a theft report with Toms River police since the platinum was stolen from our converter while at this shop.
