I had used the service once before and was happy with it. However, I just recently used it again for a cruise and was charge $6.19 MORE by the hotel than Stay123 indicated. While the amount is small, what I am more unhappy about is the fact that despite the fact that I immediately sent an email to Stay123 to attempt to understand what was going on and then following up with another 'contact submission form' from the website after my return, I have yet to hear a single word from them [now 3 weeks post cruise return].

I won't be recommending them in the future and will look at other options for other upcoming trips.

I used stay123 for the 1st time. I had no problem with the hotel. What I had a problem with is that they advertise low price and being able to park at the hotel and get a shuttle to the airport. The hotel confirmed that I overpaid on my booking and they couldn't do anything because it was through stay123. They make it sound like the hotel only does it through this company. But the hotels policy is to allow you to park for free for 7 days. I overpaid by $40 I'm not happy and will not use this company again.

This is consistent with the service they failed to provide initially and hence the complaint.

Review: I made a reservation for a hotel that had round trip shuttle to a cruise port. They weren't able to confirm the reservation with that hotel. I called and they offered another hotel. I was very clear that I needed round trip shuttle for the cruise port. I was assured that the hotel offered round trip shuttle, so I agreed to the reservation change. After hanging up with stay123.com, I called the hotel to confirm the shuttle. They only offer one way shuttle. I called stay123.com to cancel. I again was very clear why I cancelled. Part of my payment was refunded. I was charged a cancellation fee. I have tried multiple times to contact them. I have emailed 3 times, called countless times. I either get no answer, or the person can't help me it has to be a [redacted], but a [redacted] is never available.Desired Settlement: I just want my money refunded to the credit card for the cancellation fee that I should have never been charged.

Business

Response:

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I'm sorry that I was not aware of this matter, and I agree that under the circumstances of the original hotel not being able to fulfill the request, and with the hotel change, the cancellation fee should be waived. The additional refund of $10 has been issued today 5/**/14 and should appear on the cardholder's statement within 48 hours.

If any additional information is needed please let me know.

Sincerely,

Review: On 7/*/2014 I reserved a room for Aug [redacted], 2014. I used my Credit Card on the Stay 123 website to do this. This is not my normal practice since I am afraid of putting my information out on the internet. The website showed that they were a secure site so I trusted it would be okay. Let me say up front that this is the one time I used this Credit Card. It's a new card and is for emergencies only. It is not on file anywhere accept with this company! I was notified by my bank on 7/**/14 about the 3 attempt to use the and then closed out the card. In addition there were 2 PayPal accounts opened with it. Again...the only place it was used was Stay 123. I called them on 7/**/14 and wanted my reservation cancelled due to this problem. She gave me a hard time about it and kept telling me that their site was encrypted and safe. I then asked how the info got to the Hotel for the reservation. She stated that it's faxed by them. I told her I wanted ALL my money back for the inconvenience and she said there would be a $10 cancellation fee. I told her that's not happening. She then asked me to give her the new account # for my CC so they could refund the difference. I told her absolutely not because they would just steal my info again! I told her I wanted it all refunded in a check...she said that wasn't possible so I am now putting in a complaint with the Revdex.com. I ended up calling the hotel were the reservation was made just to make sure they got the cancellation and she said only 1 was cancelled. I told her I only had 1. Basically what the CS rep told me was that the reservation was screwed up. She cx'd the 2nd one. I read more info and reviews on Stay 123 and I am not the only one who's CC info was stolen and used....there are many! They need to be investigated and shut down!!Desired Settlement: I want my total refund of $21.85 refunded to me by check!! I had to close the credit card due to illegal access to it. The company needs to be investigated!

Response:

Thank you for the opportunity to review this matter. To begin, we will certainly issue a refund for the cancelled reservation as requested, however please understand that a check issuance for any refund against an original credit card charge is a violation of the terms of our contractual agreement with our merchant services provider. The refund is considered a cash advance and we are not authorized to disburse cash refunds against the credit cards, as this is prohibited under our contractual agreement. Even though the card number may have been closed, your account with the credit provider still remains active. The refund will be issued against the original order, and will be released back to your issuing bank, and your replacement account will be credited for the refund within 5 business days.

I'm so sorry to hear that the cardholder's personal data was compromised, and it's very alarming for us as a trusted business to learn of the pattern that she mentioned. We have been a trusted business for 14 years, working to uphold our trusted reputation to maintain the highest levels of security, implementing all of the latest and most recent technological updates to ensure a safe and secure environment for our clients to use online.

Once entered, your payment information is encrypted into a non-usable form, and no credit card data is ever stored for any reason. I also intend to bring this matter to the attention of the hotel to determine of there might be some breach in the forwarding of information to the hotel for your bookings.

Based on our client's concern, we will conduct an investigation to determine any intrusions or breaches. Until now, we have been assured that our measures of website security protect our cardholders from any risk of identity theft. Every effort is being made to ensure that your data remains protected and secure from any malicious breach attempts. However, as a precaution, under the circumstances, please continue to review your credit card statements just to monitor activity. If you discover unauthorized or suspicious activity on any of your account statements, contact your issuing bank immediately. Also consult with your issuing bank to ensure that they provide notification of any unusual activity. By law, you are not liable for any unauthorized charges.

We are required to conduct forensic investigations to maintain a high level of security. Upon learning of any possible breaches, we are required to heighten protective security, enable additional firewall capabilities, and scan servers to ensure that any malicious software is completely blocked to prevent any intrusion.

Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention. Every effort if being made to prevent any and all occurrences of this nature. If any additional information is needed please let me know.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me as long as it's the full amount of $21.85 that is refunded back to me. Then I will consider the matter resolved. I would also like to know how long this will take.

Sincerely,

Review: I use this company to secure hotel parking while I am on a cruise. It requires an advance deposit and 24 hour advance notice to avoid a $10 room service fee. I have cancelled three reservation well in advance and have heard nothing from Stay123 nor received a refund. I have called and left messages and emailed them numerous times to no avail. Booking #[redacted] canceled on 1/**/2015 and received Cancellation ID# [redacted], Booking #[redacted] canceled on 1/**/2015 and received Cancellation ID# [redacted], and Booking #[redacted] canceled on 4/**/2015 and received Cancellation ID# [redacted].Desired Settlement: On the first two, I had a deposit of $27.65 each and on the last one a deposit of $38.75. I would like a refund of these amounts for a total of $94.05. Thank you.

Response:

The three reservations were all cancelled as per [redacted]'s request. Our written cancellation policy states that cancellations will result in a $10 charge per room, as referred to in the above inquiry. The refunds have been issued as follows and should appear within 48 hours of issuance:[redacted] refunded $17.65 4/**/15[redacted] refunded $28.75 4/**/15[redacted] refunded $17.65 4/**/15If any additional information is needed please let me know.[redacted]

Review: This is the second time I've used stay123.com and my credit card was stolen within 48 hours of checking into the hotel. I believe this company is not protecting my personal information.

Business

Response:

Dear [redacted],

Review: As others have stated previously in dealings with this company - I too, have had 1) no confirmation from chosen hotel although reservation was made through Stay123 on 07/**/2015; 2) my debit card was compromised with charges in Great Britain; 3) no response from the company when phoned on 07/**/2015. Stay123 has a Revdex.com approval logo on their website.

Although the company has continued to have this type of complaint and violation of consumer's credit/debit cards their security practice hasn't changed. I firmly believe that they know this type of problem exists - and count on people becoming frustrated and giving up - thus giving them "free money".Desired Settlement: I want my money back and no cancelation fee charged. I have had to cancel the card I used to make this reservation, and will refuse to give them another card number, so I"m not sure if a refund is even possible.

Business

Response:

This client booked a reservation with us for September **, 2015 (not July [redacted]) and the hotel has not assigned inventory as of yet for the fall of 2015 so the booking was on hold. The advance deposit was posted on the date of the booking, and would have been applied to the confirmed reservation.

I have issued a refund of $34.50 as requested, and cancelled the pending reservation. There remains no booking confirmed for this client.

We were not previously made aware of any fraudulent activity on this client's account. We will make a continued effort to ensure that all client's data is completely secure.

If any additional information is needed please let me know.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. As a point of clarification - I MADE the booking on July [redacted]. If the booking was unable to be confirmed at that time, a notice should have been given prior to the reservation being accepted.

Sincerely,

Review: Twice my credit card number has been stolen and used after providing it to Stay123.com for a hotel reservation. Both times the credit card companies have notified me of the unauthorized use. The second time I reserved through Stay123.com, not only was my credit card compromised but Stay123.com also provided erroneous information/check-in date to the hotel and I was then charged by the hotel as a no show. Neither Stay123.com or the hotel (and hotel corporation) would correct the problem despite my faxing and emailing my confirmation showing the correct check-in date. I contacted Stay123.com but they did not follow through with helping me. They eventually stopped answering their phone and did not return the phone messages I left for them. It was after the second credit card compromise and also talking with another customer who's credit card number was also used illegally after providing it to Stay123.com that I was able to figure out what was going on and who may be doing it. Since this has happened to me, not once, but twice, I have read other online reviews of Stay123.com and it has reportedly happened to others.

Response:

The reservation request received on October * 2013, was booked for arrival October [redacted], 2013, but was requested for October [redacted] 2014. The hotel had charged a no-show fee for the incorrect date, but as per the [redacted] and [redacted] at the [redacted], they have since reversed that charge and issued a full courtesy refund for the amount charged $135.70.

Stay123 has also issued a refund (January **, 2014) for the advance deposit prepaid of $23.20 to hold this reservation.

Review: I was on their website. I had found a promo code to use for a future stay. when I was on their website, looking for a box to enter the code, I couldn't find one. I input "next" and all of the sudden, I had booked a reservation. it was late at night and the office was closed so I couldn't call. I immediately wrote to them explaining the situation. no reply. I called the next day. no answer. I resent the email and no reply. I sent an email to another email address I found on the internet.

by the way, the 800 number listed doesn't work. I called several times and when I finally got through to a person, she said there was a $10 cancellation fee.

I protested in that I made multiple attempts to correct the issue immediately.Desired Settlement: $10 back.

Business

Response:

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Our client intended to make a reservation, entered all the personal data as well as full payment information, and received written confirmation. All pricing details, terms and policies are fully disclosed in many places on the site prior to booking. As stated in writing (see FAQ, cancelation link, original email acknowledgement, client confirmation, receipt of deposit) there is a $10 fee for cancellation fee for all cancellations. A hotel package was selected by the client, the booking form was filled in by the client, and all pricing was clearly indicated Before client is required to finalize and click "submit". There is no available promo code field, and there are currently no promotions being advertised for our company.

As a gesture of good will, and as a one time courtesy in response to the request on this statement, I will waive the cancellation fee for this client. Credit for $10 will be issued on September **, 2013.

Review: I made reservations via [redacted] for room and parking at the [redacted] in [redacted] on March **, 2014. I received an email on March **, 2014 that stated that the room was no longer available and that I would not be charged a deposit. First, I have been charged a deposit of $45.20. Second, I have not been able to contact anyone about the charge and the reservation. The numbers I call all say to leave a message or send an email. I received a voicemail with a contact number of [redacted] to call about the reservation. This number was to stay123.com. Stay123.com and [redacted] are the same entity. Now, I am having to pay $100 more for a hotel room and $16 a day for parking during the cruise due to [redacted] not living up to the reservations that I made.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of the $45.20 deposit that I was charged. Also, I would like to be reimbursed the difference in the room price ($100.00) and reimbursed for the parking expenses that I will incur at the cruise terminal ($80.00).

Business

Response:

Thank you for the opportunity to address this matter.

This reservation was just made this past March ** for arrival March **.

This is a very busy weekend, and with such short notice, availability can be limited, especially during special event seasons ([redacted]) and unfortunately, due to the transient nature of hotels in general, room and parking availability cannot be completely guaranteed unless reserved with some advance notice.

We notified our client of the space limitation as soon as we became aware. Of course, since the hotel was not able to honor the reservation request, the advance deposit of $45.20 was already fully refunded and should appear as a credit within 24 business hours.

There may be other alternative properties with rooms and parking available, which we can request if needed.

If any additional information is needed please let me know.

All the best

Stay123

Review: This company indicates that they provide reservations for hotels with parking services provided. They take a deposit to secure the reservation and indicate the balance due at the hotel. They charged my card for a reservation which the hotel cancelled because the information provided was incorrect. The amount they charged was different from the email amount shown that would be charged but in any event the hotel had cancelled the reservation. I asked for a refund but received no response. I have asked [redacted] to investigate the charge and the process is ongoing at this time. [redacted] has recently emailed me that the company had not responded. The process used by this company was fouled up from the start. The reservation length, date of arrival, and date of departure was incorrect from the beginning. I spent hours trying to reach someone with the company through email and phone to correct what they never seemed to get right. It took over 6 hours to actually speak with someone and they still did not get the information correct. None of the information provided by the company was correct including the charges for the room and those items listed above.Desired Settlement: An indication of these shoddy business practices on your web site.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Since the clients reservation was not honored in accordance with the details of the confirmation, he is indeed entitled to his full refund. Review: The phone # I have is for [redacted] but comes up as stay123.com on your site. I attempted to book a hotel stay with parking for 7 days and shuttle to and from the cruise port in Boston Ma. for 10/**/14. I received a confirmation # from [redacted] but a week and a half later I was informed that I had no reservation (the hotel would not accept [redacted]s advertised rate. I feel that this site is a scam to get people to book more expensive stays when the rate they were quoted is rejected by the hotel. I feel that [redacted] owes me a reserved room at their added expense. I have E-mailed them many times with no response and when I do get to speak to someone they are no help. They also charged my credit card for $34.50 for a "deposit"Desired Settlement: I feel they should find me a room with shuttle service and free parking at their expense since I attempted to book in good faith. I also want my credit card refunded as soon as possible

Business

Response:

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

When this client booked her reservation, the data was collected and immediately forwarded to the requested hotel for confirmation. An advance deposit portion was prepaid to be applied to the total cost of the package booking. At that time, the hotel had not yet informed us of their intent to close special package availability for the requested date, and replied to our request with an availability denial.

There are some rooms available for that date, but the allotment has been exceeded for package inclusions (long term parking and shuttle transportation). Unfortunately, due to the transient nature of hotels, there are sometimes dates that have limited availability and cannot be confirmed at special rates. We make every effort to update our inventory with our partner hotels on a daily basis to ensure accuracy for rooms available, but if the hotel closes availability due to high occupancy, we are subject to the availability limitations. If this happens, our policy is to offer all available alternatives at varied similar and lower prices based on availability to our clients, and apply in full any deposits that have been prepaid to the new selection. If no alternate selection is preferred, then a full refund is issued.

On August **, 2014, since the first choice of hotels was unable to fulfill the request, and no alternate was booked, a full refund of $34.50 was already issued to the Discover card ending [redacted].

If any additional information is needed please let me know.
