I called StayMobile on Friday, May 8 to discuss repairing a cracked screen for my [redacted]. The website advertises same day turnaround and a "leading Staymobile Lifetime Warranty." I explained that I cracked my screen and asked if I could bring in my phone so that they could quote me a price. I was told over the phone that it would be $146 was told usually 2-3 hours depending on customers ahead of me. Once I arrived, [redacted] did a "pre-test" to verify that everything worked such as power on/off, front and back camera. All that needed to be repaired was the screen. [redacted] told me that they had never repaired [redacted]s but it would be "easy" and that my phone was in good hands. He asked "What price did I quote you over the phone?" And I told him $146. All of a sudden the price increased but he said he would give me a "coupon" so that the price would be $149. He said they would call when finished and again I explained my [redacted] was the only phone I had. I asked to be emailed and [redacted] laughed and said no, to just return in 2 hours. When I returned, [redacted] was giggling and when I asked what was funny he told me he had "bad news." A piece broke while they tried to repair the phone and now it would not turn back on. He told me [redacted] had been working on my phone. I was never notified of any issues before returning, even though I provided my email address to Staymobile. I eventually spoke with [redacted] and he claimed the phone had more damage than a cracked screen, although everything worked before they started repairs. I spoke with [redacted] the manager over the phone in the store and he told me the part had been ordered and my phone could not be repaired until Monday. He claimed that when repairing phones sometimes there is more damage than what appears to be the issue. I thought that was the purpose of the pretest. I asked [redacted] for a summary of what happened while he tried to repair my phone to be put in writing and emailed to me. I have not received an email.Desired SettlementI would like:a description of what occurred while trying to repair my phone to be put in writing and emailed to the email address I provided to Staymobile ([redacted]); my screen to be repaired for free on Monday, May 11 since the "same day turnaround" claim stated on the website was not honored and I was never notified of any issues until I went to pick up my phone and I made it clear to [redacted] that I depend on my phone for my career; my repairs to be covered under warranty.Business Response Stay mobile purchased the consumer a new [redacted] from [redacted] to rectify the situation.
