Review: On 07/07/2013 Jiffy Lube over tighten the oil drain bolt on my car oil pan (2003 Cadillac CTS car). Jiffy Lube inserted comment on the invoice that bolt was hard to take out and put back in "knowing" they over tighten the bolt to the oil pan. If it was damaged before their work, they would have refused to work on it or recommended I replace the oil pan. Instead, they attempted to cover their poor work by a open commend bolt was tight to loosen and replace. Over tightening the oil drip pan bolt is not normal wear and whether the vehicle is brand new or ten years old it will strip the threads and damage the oil pan.

On 9/21/2013 (Sat) my father took my car to [redacted] to get the oil changed and they immediately identified whomever changed the oil previously stripped the oil pan bolt by over tightening. It was Jiffy Lube store #[redacted] that did the last oil change. On 9/23/2013 (Monday) my father contacted Jiffy Lube and asked to speak with the manager [redacted]. Instead, the assist manager "[redacted]" (did not give last name) answered stating “the manager is busy”. My father then informed [redacted] they over tightened the oil pan bolt and to ask the Manager to go to [redacted] Chevy down the street and see for themselves. The proof is looking at the car. The manager [redacted] never called me or my father back, nor did he go to [redacted] Chevy to see first-hand his stores poor work. Instead he sent [redacted] to [redacted] to see the car, take pictures and get the Chevy paper work. Looking for excuse not to repair their poor work, Jiffy Lube did not commit to fix the car. Jiffy Lube appeared to resist their written “Guarantee and warranty” and looking to shift responsibility instead. I am having pictures and written [redacted] statement that I will send to prove my case.

The fact is, Jiffy Lube over tighten the oil pan bolt on my car. Does not matter the age of the car, if the car was brand new and you over tighten the bolt it will strip and fail. I want Jiffy lube [redacted], store No. [redacted], [redacted] VA at ###-###-#### held responsible to pay for the replacement of my oil pan they damaged from poor maintenance procedures for the amount of $1,906.95. Also, it cost me $140.00 rental car and I want reimbursed for oil change $91.79 = $2,138.92. Instead, the manager is too busy to speak with me or my father and they are resisting their responsibility and looking for any excuse. Please assist me in this situation. I am an active duty Marine stationed in [redacted] NC and I went home for the weekend with my family having to leave my only car. Without a doubt Jiffy Lube store #[redacted] is looking to not fix their poor work and I intend to sue them in civil court. I also request the attorney general look into their other complaints and business license pulled for negligent work, false guarantee advertising and suspected notes on all invoices “bolt came out hard and went back in hard” in attempt to preempt any consumer getting relief from their very poor workmanship.Desired Settlement: I expect STC Management, Agent [redacted] to reimburse me in full for the damage Jiffy Lube Store #[redacted] negligence car work to my car. I have filed a complaint with Virginia Attorney General Office, [redacted] County Consumer Affairs, and I will sue [redacted] AKA STC Management group in court unless I get full replacement of Jiffy Lube damage to my car.

Response:

[redacted] had also files with [redacted] County. Below is STC's response to them and explains the case for you.

[redacted], ([redacted] County)

I went for an oil change a week later my oil light came on they didn't even check to see why they just reset light light and sent me on my way. Now my car has an oil leak that they don't want to fix even after the car deal said it was caused by J[redacted] L[redacted]. My car had just passed the V[redacted] safety inspection prior to the all happening so I know for a fact there was no leak.

Review: First of all, My wife and I are empty nester's, We drive our own cars only. One of jiffy lube employee's broke into my glovebox which I kept locked. I didn't notice it was broken until about 2 weeks after when I tried to put the key in the lock, which wouldn't let the key fully in the key hole, I knew they did it because the cabin filter door was still off laying in the glovebox. So called and told the manager that I will be by the upcoming weekend to discuss this matter, I got there Sunday May 18th 2014 and he said he rolled back the video to see who could have possibly have done this. He said he found nothing. I told him why would I come back here if I didn't know it was them. He said because the video camera didn't catch who done it, it's nothing he can do. I've used them for least 13 years and that's how they treated a loyal customer. I told him my car and my wife's car are done here, They've lost 2 customers for life.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to repair the lock on my glovebox. Serious doubt they will, "To big to fail" seems to be the new thinking. I will no longer deal with fly by night operations such as this company.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

For the record, They are lying about me not allowing them to look at the problem, I went over after the incident, the so called manager had a disposition of I don't really care. I've receive one call from them asking to take another at glove-box they broke open only after I sent off emails to you'll (Revdex.com) and there headquarters. I haven't had time to return that Jiffy Lube location because I've been away on business travel, This has been inconvenience of my time, some of us really do have to work for a living. I will go back over there location this coming weekend either on Saturday June 28th or Sunday June 29th. to let them try and fix this. I would rather the [redacted] dealership fix it.

Regards,

Business

Response:
