Stealth Auto Recovery, Inc. Reviews (2)

Review: My vehicle was repossessed in Elk Grove on June 21, 2016. I immediately contacted Stealth Auto Recovery to retrieve my items that were left in the car. When I was finally able to retrieve my items, there were several items missing, including: prescription medication, cash, and a [redacted] backpack. I immediately contacted management and left several messages- and received no callback. After continuing to call, I was finally connected with James and of course he denied stealing those items out of the vehicle. And he had no course of action to retrieve my stolen items.Desired Settlement: I would like my items returned or I would like to be compensated for the items that an employee of Stealth Auto Recovery stole. Realistically, I don't expect the cash or medication returned, but I would like my backpack returned.

Response:

California State Law doesn't allow us to list or discuss individual personal property. When recovering a vehicle we inventory all personal property and store for 60 days. After 60 days all belongings are disposed of per California law. As to keep response somewhat short per request all our procedures and policies are not listed above. After reviewing this complaint the buyer was advised of our findings in a timely manner. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to assist in this matter.

Review: On their website it lists their office hours as: M-Thursday 9am-5pm and Fridays 9am-4pm Lists their recovery hours as:24hours/7daysThere is no further information in regards to their hours of operation or are there any instructions on what the process is to redeem a vehicle. I paid what I owed, my finance company faxed over the release and when I called to ask where they were located I was told their"redemption"hours were 11-3pm and it was 305pm on a Friday. I explained to them that their website lists their office hours as 9-4pm on Fridays and she proceeded to tell me that it lists their redemption hours as 11-3. I am unable to locate where they list separate redemption hours on their site. I had a coworker who was helping me drive me quite a far distance on a friday so I could pick up my vehicle and we did not know there were secret redemption hours or we wouldn't have wasted all that time driving out there. They need to be fair and publicly list the hours of redemption on their website for the consumer to see and prevent what happened to me from happening to somebody else.Desired Settlement: For them to update their website and include what their hours of redemption are since the redemption hours are not the same as the only hours they have posted (office hours). Consumers are going there for one reason and that is to redeem their car, post that you have redemption hours since they are different than your office hours so consumers are aware of it.
