[redacted] Eugene Or. Itwas a call for a tow on a 1978 ford pick up truck for a [redacted], When ourdriver arrived at the disablement location. Our driver asked the customer,"What happened to the truck." Customer replied ''I don't know it just stalled outin the intersection then we pushed it here." Our driver replied "thats abummer" then proceeded to hook up the pick up to the tow truck. whilehooking up the tow the customer stated that Stealth Recovery and Towing hadrecently towed his pick up with the same tow truck just a different driver.After the hook up was complete our driver asked the customer if he was readyto go? The customers loaded up in the tow truck and proceeded to go to thedrop off location [redacted] Eugene Or. 1.2 miles away. Roosevelt andHwy 99 is always a crowded intersection and difficult to get out at times. so thedriver has to take advantage of the center lane to inter traffic. We have trackingdevices in all of our trucks. We checked the tracker and found no violations hadhappened.At the drop off location the customer wanted the truck dropped off in themiddle of the road. Our driver advised him against doing that as this is a heavypick up and there is no need in injuring yourself when the tow truck can put itin a parking space_ Customer agreed. The pick up was parallel parked in frontof his homo. Customer was happy.A few days later the customer called us stating that we damaged his truck. Weasked how? He stated that the carburetor was affected by it being towed with awheel lift tow truck, and that the alignment was bad now. He went on tellingabout how he could not get his truck started. We at that time asked him howdoes he know if the alignment is out if you cannot drive it? He said, "That isbesides the point. You guys flooded the carburetor when you towed it." Weasked him if he has ever driven up or down a hill? The elevation of a towedvehicle is that of a small hill, typically about 10 inches off the ground. He keptgoing on and on about how we damaged his vehicle. We had enough and toldhim that we will not -1n any way entertain any damage claim for his vehicle as hehad an unjiSt claim.We are a revered towing company with certified trained operators. Wespecialize in high end exotic vehicles. with over 1 000 tows a month. Ifsomething gets damaged we will take care of it.In this case nothing was damaged.
