[redacted] I am responding to a complaint from a customer to The Revdex.com the customer booked a wedding a year in advance with we ask for a deposit of to save the date that lets us hold the date and not over book.The deposit is non refundable.The customer had a appointment with myself a few days before a tragic accident in our family,my soon to be son in law was killed, I did not member the appointment at the time ,they called and I explained the over site I offered to meet with them the next day,they agreed .then called to canceled It is hard to believe that some one could be so uncaring .But I did promise to meet them the next day,and they did agree,Florists must book these dates in advance I also turned down other brides for that date, that is why the deposit is nonrefundable I have a breat reputation I believe I have an a rating with you alll thank you for your time The Rustic Urn Florist now Steamboat Floral

steamboat florist has a non refundable deposit for booked weddings,a client had booked a appointment with myself for a consultation for her wedding ,I missed the appointment due to a family tragedy,we decided to re book,but she was unaware that we had moved our bushiness to steamboat springs from grand lake Colorado she was uncomfortable with that ,decided to go with a more local floristWe have decided to refund her deposit ,yet with that in mind we have never had any client rebook with another florist our reputation is very important to us ,even though we saved the date for her
w e ourselves had turned down other weddings for that date.but we always put our customers first,under the circumstances the ball was drooped on our end I her eyesWe have mailed her deposit back to her

I am rejecting this response because:
There are many incorrect "facts" in [redacted]'s response. They are:
I called in December, 2013, to reserve a place, not a year in advance as she says.
I was asked to make a deposit of $250.00, and I sent in a check which has cleared. I was not told it was non-refundable at any point. Had this been made clear to me when I sent the check, I would not be asking for a refund.
I was unaware of the family tragedy until she yelled at me on the phone, "Excuse me for not remembering this as my son-in-law was killed several months ago." (This conversation occurred in June.) When I expressed my condolences, she spoke over me and continued to yell. I suggested we try to keep the conversation professional. I ended the conversation soon after as it didn't seem like communication was effective.
As I said before, the reason that I cancelled was because I became very uncomfortable working with [redacted], as she had told me the day before that it was a 45 minute drive to where she was in Steamboat (I was in Grand Lake). This is a lie, deception, misrepresentation, (it's actually 1 1/2 hour drive, quite a difference), which made me very uncomfortable to continue our working relationship. I would have continued with her had she not lied, and not yelled at me, or had she not been so mean about the other florist in GL.
I also became very uncomfortable when she demanded to know who I was going to work with, which I never answered. She then began to criticize and bad mouth a florist in GL. I am extremely uncomfortable working with this level of unprofessionalism.
I really hope we can reach a satisfactory resolution.
