From: Dan M [redacted] Sent: Thursday, November 10, 8:PM To: info Subject: Response to complaint My name is Dan M [redacted] , I work at Steel Life Tattoo and am responding to a complaint that was filed against me and the company I work forA client of mine, [redacted] wrote a complaint about a transaction that we hadI started a tattoo on her about a year ago in black and grey at a different shop I worked at at the time, I relocated back to my home town and she had gotten ahold of me to get back in and add the color to the tattoo, it had been such a long time since I had seen the tattoo that I had forgotten the exact size of it and quoted her $to finish it, and she wanted to add a small semi colon tattoo the same day we did the color, I agreed and told her that I would add it for a small tip after we finished the other tattooShe came in, did the paper work and payed me $for finishing the one, and a $tip to do the semi colonI then saw the tattoo I quoted $to finish was way bigger than I had remember and was way more work than I quoted her but since I told her $I stuck to my word and said I would still do it for that priceI charge $150/hour and we worked on it about 3.5-hours and got it all done except for a very small spot that would have taken about more min to be completely finished and at that time she said she got light headed and felt sick and said she couldn't go any longer and tapped outI tried to get her to stick it out for another min to get it finished so we didn't have to work on it another day but she insisted that it was to much for her to take so we stopped for the the nightI told her that was ok and she was paid up and to just get ahold of me once the tattoo was fully healed in about 2-weeksOctober 5th or 6th was the day we did that tattoo and then on October 20th, she had wrote me on Facebook Messenger saying that the tattoo was pretty well healed and asked if I had any openings for that upcoming SaturdayNow as a tattoo artist, we can get very busy and overwhelmed with work and don't always get around to checking Facebook to which is what had happened with me, I don't check Facebook Messenger very often because most people set up appointments via text message, calling the shop directly, or the best way, which is to come to the shopSo days went by and she wrote me more times on October 30th both times while I was asleep, and then final message at 8:40am on the 31stI had woken up on the 31st and checked my messenger and saw all of her messages as they progressively got more irate towards meHer last one said "I want some of my money backI'll find another tattoo artist to finish your workThanks" to which I responded by saying "Um ok, well it will be a couple of weeks before I could get you back in, but if you don't want me to do it, then I can't give you any money back, sorry" and after that, she went irate on me demanding money back and being very rudeI offered a SECOND time to get her in to finish it but being a well known artist I am usually booked up 2-weeks in advance and told her a second time that I would do it but its going to be a couple of weeksOnce again she got rude with me demanding money and being irrational and not willing to wait weeks to get in and acted like I was blowing her off which was far from the case, I told her that I am a busy artist and can't always respond to everyone that writes me ASAP to get them in, especially through FacebookI had even told her in the past that I don't check Facebook very often so to text me instead (I have copies of the message from when I told her I don't check Facebook often) she never once tried to call the shop to get ahold of me like everyone else does to set up an appointmentSo after going back and forth with her about not getting any money back and it being about a week wait, she just wouldn't stop with being rude about it and telling me that she will find another artist to do it, to where my final message I wrote to her "Ok well good luck finding someone else to do it because I tried to be nice, good day" was my final messageI don't know what else I could have done for her other than to apologize about not seeing her messages and getting back to her as quickly as she wanted me to and offer to get her scheduled in a couple of weeks which she never once said "ok, whats the soonest day you could get me in?" is what I expected her to say but never happenedThe tattoo I did on her even after she tapped out that day is literally 95% finished, finished to the point that I even posted pictures of it on my webpage as a finished tattoo, we worked a total of hours on it in sessions, which was about $worth of work performed to which she had only paid a total of $350-$for, she got way more than she paid because I screwed myself and under quoted the price to finish it, but stuck to my word and did it anyways because I have worked hard to build a good name for myself and pride myself on thatIt was just a simple misunderstanding and me not checking my Facebook often is what had led to this horrible situationI have saved our entire conversation as proof of me offering to get her back in to finish it within a couple weeks time and her never once trying to schedule it with me, just her assuming I was ignoring her an her assuming that I wasn't going to finish it, and that was not the caseWe are a business that provides a service and that service was provided that day, I went beyond what I should have done and she got more than she paid for, in the end, I offered to finish it, she refused to schedule with me to finish it and demanded money back and told me she was going to find another artist to finish it and flipped out when I told her we can't refund any money back and she blew up and got super agitated that she wasn't getting money back

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
