August 25, Dear [redacted] :The customer brought their edger into our store for service and it was diagnosed to need a new carburetorThe total repair was estimated to be approximately $160.00, the part costing $and Hour of labor at $the part was ordered and when it arrived the unit was found to be missing.We offered to the customer a replacement unit with the customer paying the $value of the repair and us covering the rest of the $cost of the edgerThe customer stated they did not have a pressing need for the edger and would be okay with a store creditA total of $in store credit was offeredAfter further communication with the customer we have agreed to charge the customer only the cost of the carburetor ($+ Tax), waiving the labor fee and we will cover the remaining cost of the edgerThe customer called us in the evening on August 21, to tell us he was going away for two weeksThe customer did not want us to think he was not coming in On August 22, the edger arrived at the storeWe called the customer and his voice mailbox was full and not accepting messagesThe edger is at the store ready for the customer to pick up.Regards,Richard MSteele's Hardware, Inc
