Had a rental for kids 5 tables, 50 chairs, and a arch for wedding. Called in plenty of time due to COVID 19 to cancel due to Government quarantine, and they charged me a 20% cancellation fee!!! They cannot charge me a cancellation fee when the government shut us all down from having a wedding!!!
She made the statement, they are a small business and this hurts them financially, really, I got fired too, so give me my money!!
We have a cancellation policy clearly stated on our website. When orders are canceled there is a 20% cancelation fee to help with credit card processing fees and other processing costs. We are offering to reschedule any events for any time after the government ban is lifted. I did explain this to the customer and she refused to reschedule. I did explain the cancelation policy to her. She paid $36 on 10/19/19 and $171.51 on 1/13/2020 for an event scheduled for 4/17/2020. The total for the event was $207.51. The 20 percent non-refundable cancelation fees is $41.51. I did refund her card $166 (which is 80% of the total event rental) on 4/10/2020. Again, I did offer rescheduling of this event or a full store credit for any time in the future. She declined. The only other option is cancelation with 20% cancelation fee. Attached is the invoice showing the original charge and the credit for the 80% of the total rental. Also attached is the 20% cancelation policy stated on our website.

I am rejecting this response because: 1. THIS IS A PANDEMIC ORDERED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!
2. My contract says nothing about cancellation, apparently you need to place in contract words not on a website.
3. I CANNOT RESCHEDULE WHEN WE ARE IN QUARINTINE, I DO NOT OWN A CRYSTAL BALL. What day would you like me to tell the kids they can get married, since of course you seem to think you have power over a Presidential Order!!
