Review: Milton S[redacted] verbally agreed on 3/30/2016 to refund $8,300 out of the $14,200 paid to him for bad work done in installing new tile shower, floor, tub tile, plumbing, electrical, incomplete items and other items end of Feb to 1st of March 2016. I agreed to lesser amount so I could move forward with having a new company tear out and redo what he messed up. He was to pay in full Friday 4/8 contacting me 1st of week to set a time and place to meet and exchange money for a statement we would be done and him released from any future liability. I agreed as I need the $8300 or can't finishing fixing my house so family can move in. I had not heard from him I called Wed 4/6 left several messages with no reply this time. Called Friday am and now his phone message has been changed from S[redacted]'s kitchen and Bath (on Wed) to say just Milton S[redacted], it had been changed, I gave him until noon to call me back or had no choice to take futher actions. I have not heard from him. I guess he had no intention to refund any money and that was used as a delay tactic.Desired Settlement: Want Milton S[redacted] to keep his word and give me the $8,300 we agreed on by phone on 3/30.

Review: [redacted] was paid $7548.00 to remodel a bathroom. The job involved removing the tub and putting in a new shower. He was aslo asked to bring the plumbing up to code, to insulate pipes that had problems during that year with bursting due to freezing. He evaluated the job and claimed that he needed to put in three drains, one for the washing machine one for the shower and for the toilet. When the job was completed in June of 2014, he did not put in any new drains. The drains that were formerly in place were utilized. The bulk of the money was because he claimed that he need to use a jack hammer to install these drains. This was not accurate information. When he completed the job, he claimed that he could not bring the plumbing up to code. Two months after the job was done, the tiles started coming out from the corners. Six months after the job, the pipe was busted. This was due to freezing conditions. When I called [redacted] to tel lhim that the job was inferior; to include materials used and workmanship and that he needed to repair the busted pipes. He claimed that he was no longer in business. I told him that I would get a plumber to fix the pipes and he would have to pay for the work and he said yes. The plumber came and cut the dry wall to find the pipes. He was appalled at the work that was done. He claimed that he can do a temporary fix, but that the plumbing would have to be brought up to code, as the pipe would continue to burst when the temperature drops. He also shared that the insulation was not adequate and a lot of cold air was coming in from a window which was behind the tiled wall that was not covered. this was also the reason why the tile was coming apart. [redacted] had connected tile-tile without a proper backing. To repair the work adequately much of what Mr. Steely did would have to be redone. I told [redacted] about the predicament but he is not paying for the repairs.Desired Settlement: For Mr. Steely to refund the cost of some of the money paid to him so that I can have the plumbing fixed. The bathroom can be completely repaired for 4500.00. I would be willing to take half the cost of what I paid [redacted] $3774.00.
