Review: I took a knife to Stenson's for engraving. I got it back and gave it to my wife when she pointed out that the lettering was coming off. I took it back to the store for repair. I go back to pick it up for the second time and the lettering is not legible. I took it home to see what my wife would say and she was also not happy with it. I once again returned to the store and left it awaiting a call from the owner. When Ward Stenson called me back he explained he tired a different material from the factory and that's all he could do. The item was referenced as not being like a Mona Lisa. So now I have a $74.99 knife that has a $48.51 engraving that says "Happy 5th Anniversary My Queen" on that is blurry and not legible. Mr. [redacted] has refused to do anything to rectify this issue. This item means nothing to Mr. [redacted] but the world to my wife.Desired Settlement: I would like my wife's knife to be replaced and refunded my engraving cost.

Dear Revdex.com,We have mailed out a check, to refund Mr. [redacted], for the engraving charge. It is difficult for customers to understand that once an item is engraved, it is there always. We try to explain that trying to change what was done may not look better. But, we try to change the engraving because the customer asks, and we do it at no charge. Had we refused to try to redo the first engraving, the customer would have been upset too. The black in the lettering would have rubbed off, but the wording would have been clear and the finish like new. We regret that we were not able to make the customer happy. Thank-you,[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:I appreciate the jesture in refunding the engraving but the fact still remains that I have a $75.00 knife that is ruined. I am still at a loss. When I returned the knife [redacted] never once explained that it may look worse. I feel an acceptable settlement would be the cost of engraving plus $30.00 so I can at least purchase my wife a new knife.

Although we feel that we have made all necessary action, we would like to ensure that this issue is resolved. We currently have a [redacted] "Chive" knife, identical to the one we engraved, in stock. If the consumer would like to swap the damaged knife with the new one as a replacement, we would be more than happy to do so as a trade. The consumer may come in whenever he likes so that we can resolve this matter.
