Roof leaks and won't pass inspection. Advertises "Right first time", but sill isn't right after several times, Warranty not honored. Not reliableSigned a contract to reroof half of my house. Contract says the work will be done to manufacturers specifications and local regulations, The work complied with neither of these. Shingles and skylights were improperly installed resulting in leaks. I hired an independent home inspector and brought in two other roofing companies to inspect the work and all there parties agreed that the roof would have to be redone. I invoked the warranty and asked for a professional crew, NOT the same crew that improperly installed the roof. To his credit, [redacted] did come back with a new crew of experienced roofers to assess the warranty claim. However, when the new crew chief advised completely replacing the section of roof, [redacted] sacked them and said he would fix the leaky spots himself and only when it leaked! He came over and patched a couple of spots, but the work was not done to code or manufacturer specs. He reinstalled one of the skylight flashing kits incorrectly and put screws and glue to hold it together where no screws were required. It is obviously crooked and looks wrong. The rakes do not extend far enough off the end of the roof, so that water runs down the facia boards. Water pours in the range hood over the stove when it rains hard. The workmanship is poor and I am left waiting for things to leak. This is very inconvenient and is causing damage to the rest of the home. When I call for warranty coverage, he is late or does not show at all. The cost of taking time from work, or other obligations is just too much. I finally told [redacted] not to come back because he won't hire skilled workers to do the job and his own work is so poor it doesn't meet code or manufacturer specifications. Plus I can't afford to wait around only to have him not show up repeatedly. I finally had to his the spot over the stove myself. I may have to hire someone to replace the section that is still not right.Desired SettlementI want a $1000 refund. This will cover $400 in materials, $100 for removal of existing shingles and $500 for labor. This amount will not cover the full cost of repairs, but for this amount I am willing to release [redacted] and Step by Step Remodel from the warranty and consider the matter closed. I think this is a very reasonable settlement considering that I paid over $10K for this job.
