Stephens Auto Sales

Review: [redacted] On 2-28-14 I went to Stephens auto sales to purchase a vehicle. I test drove a 1998 Toyota Camry. After the test drive I noticed the car was smoking under the hood. I questioned [redacted] about this and he said the car is a great runner it just needs a new radiator and a few other things fixed which was all physical not mechanical, and I could see those things. his son said the car was in great condition because he drives it daily from [redacted] to [redacted]. he said the stickers are good until 4-14 and that I would have no problem with it passing emissions. when I tried to get it inspected the mechanic told me that I was going to have problems due to the check engine light not coming on when the car is started he said this was due to someone disconnecting the wires so the check engine light would not come on at the time of the sale of the car. the car would not pass inspection with out this problem being fixed. when I took it to another mechanic the cost for repairs was $700.00 to fix the check engine light to pass inspection. once the check engine light was fixed I was told it needed a knock censor to pass that was put on and it still did not pass emissions. the check engine light was tampered with to sell the car and it was sold under deception. if the check engine light was working properly at the time of the sale I would have not purchased this car due to the check engine light being on. this vehicle was sold to me with intention to deceive me.Desired Settlement: I would like for Stephen to refund me my money back for the vehicle or pay for all of the repairs due to the check engine light being tampered with and the wires being disconnected to sell the car.
