Review: Dropped off some expensive garments for dry cleaning as the the big bold sign on the window said dry cleaners . it was expressed that professional drycleaning was desired . Clothes were taken in for service, clothes were damaged / destroyed. After complaining to the owner of the business and requesting his business insurance information he refused to provide and stated that they are not a dry cleaning service but rather a laundromat. The customer service was not satisfactory and owner was very agressive. Owner may be potentially operating a business with no insurance.Desired Settlement: I would like the company to reimburse me for the replacement cost of the clothes that is estimated $600.00

My name is [redacted], Owner of Stephen’s Laundromat, LLC (the Laundromat from here on). On (Date) customer [redacted] (Customer) dropped 3 light coats with liners at the Laundromat. Please let me be clear on this point, the Laundromat does not provide dry cleaning services. You can ask any of our customers and they will tell you that we do not provide dry cleaning services. We stopped dry cleaning clothes for about a little more than 3 months. Our core business product of course is the washing machines and the washing, drying, and folding of clothes to our customers. We let go of dry cleaning due to the fact that it was more as courtesy to the customer than a profit for the business. Our dry cleaning at the time was also a drop-off, none of the dry cleaning was ever done on site. Having said that, on (Date) [redacted] (Customer) dropped her clothes to be washed not dry cleaned. [redacted] (Customer) had a good conversation with our Laundromat attendant in which the care of the clothes was discussed and agreed upon. They exchanged ideas as to how the work should be done, they read the tags on the clothing, etc.… All of the indications on each of the clothing labels-of-care were followed. I really don’t how old this clothes was before she brought it to the Laundromat or the conditions of it, but again we followed every indication on the labels. On the back of our receipts we have a general disclaimer where we exclude ourselves from being responsible for defects on materials that garments are fabricated with. To the best of our judgment we returned [redacted] (Customer) the clothes in the same conditions she brought them in. Based on this facts we feel at this time that this claim has no foundation or merit.Stephen’s Laundromat, LLC has always taken responsibility when responsibility is due.
