My name is *** *** I am the General Manager of Stereo KingI have gathered the facts and talked with all staff involved with *** * ** *** Some of our most experienced staff were involved in this situationDave M*** *** C***, Jordan B***, and our Shop Manger Rob G*** all
spoke with Mr ***Rob G***, our shop foreman was the only technician who worked on *** vehicle including both the original install and the recent trouble shoot for engine whine.
On December 22,a radio was purchased and installed by Stereo King in the ***'s vehicle, On March Mr*** brought his vehicle in saying that it had engine noise through the stereoRob pulled Mr ***'s vehicle into the bay and when he removed the radio he noted that electrical tape was present in the installation of the radioIt seemed odd to him as we do not use electrical tape on our connections, but Rob continued to troubleshoot the system looking for the source of the noise. He diagnosed that the factory amplifier was the cause of the engine whine, not the radio nor the wiring of the radioThis amp is part off the vehicles amplified speaker system which we had neither sold nor installed
Rob informed Dave M** of the problem, and that he suspected someone had been behind the radio since the original installationDave informed Mr *** that because of this amp failure we would need to rewire around the factory ampThat would cost $including parts and laborThe factory amp is not covered under our Guarantee because we did not install or sell it to Mr.***We would at that time also remove any electrical tape and replace with new connectors at no additional chargeIt should also be noted that we did not charge a diagnostic fee to identify that the problem was the amplifier

Mr*** became VERY agitated and started yelling at Dave and using profanity, making a huge scene That is when *** C*** (floor manager) came over and had Dave walk awayThis is when *** tried to calm Mr*** and try to come to a solution to the situationMr*** did not want to hear anything or work with *** and continued to scream and use extreme profanity at the sales staffHe demanded we put his car back together*** informed Rob to put the car back togetherWhile we were putting the vehicle back together Mr *** would continue to come out of the waiting area to the sales counter and verbally attack the sales staffMr *** finally left the sales floor after being asked multiple times to stop using profanity on the floor or wait outside.
As far as the "alleged" gashes on the face of the radio, my staff nor myself have seen the radio, so I can not comment on its conditionWe will be happy to inspect it upon Mr ***'s return
I have attached a copy of the email that Mr *** posted on our Stereo King web pageHe had posted the identical review on our yelp reviews page but has since removed it As you can see from the review, Mr *** has not set a tone for resolution of this situation.
As long as Mr *** can control himself and act in a civil manner, Stereo King is willing to replace the connectors on the radio and reinstall it as it was done in DecemberI would be the contact on setting up a appointment for the install (*** C*** 503-653-8088)
As far as the problem with the factory amp, there are possible solutions
1) Stereo King wires around the factory amp as suggested at the quoted price of $including parts and labor
or
2) If Mr *** can provide a good working factory amp identical to the one that is in the vehicle, Stereo King will swap it at no charge in an act of good faith.
As you can see, Stereo King is willing to help Mr *** resolve his issuePlease advise how we can be a further assistance

Please be advised that the claim referenced below was completely and promptly resolved in June of I had no idea your files still showed it as open and unresolvedIt was the result of a total misunderstanding of factors involved with both the customers employee as well as our staffRob
