Horrible service. Plumber was rude and seemed extremely annoyed installing our garbage disposal. No estimate given before job. Cost Was almost double what another plumber was going to charge. Will never use again !

Sterling Mainz Plumbing gave me a bid of $150 to $200 to put a water heater pan under my water heater. The quote was over the phone, so I offer to email them a picture of the water heater. They said that wasn't necessary. They charged me $387.30 and did not connect the pan to the drain. I understand that not every thing goes as planned but their charged price was double their quote and they didn't even connect the pan to a drain. I also needed to patch the wall where worked on the water heater. I called them to ask them to adjust the bill but they refused. You be the judge, do you think their actions were fair?

Review: We called SM&S to fix a leaking bathtub faucet. While the repair man was at our house to fix the leaky faucet we asked if he could take a look at a second bathtub faucet that seemed to drip for a long time after shutting off the water. He said parts can wear out over time and proceeded to replace a part in the second faucet. This second repair was the bulk of our $325 bill.

A few weeks later we noticed this second bathtub faucet still dripped for quite a while after turning the water off. I called them back to have someone take a look at the recently repaired faucet. They explained to me that the dripping I was describing was completely normal, even though this same drip is what their repair man supposedly fixed a few weeks earlier. I told them it was supposed to be fixed and I would like someone to come by and look at it the following Wednesday when my wife would be home. Wednesday came and went and nobody from SM&S stopped at our house nor did they call to follow up.

I shot a brief video of the dripping and took it to their store the next day. They assured me the dripping was completely normal. I asked them why they would repair the faucet if the drip was normal and I was told that it was explained to us at the time that the dripping was normal but we insisted on replacing the part.

Had SM&S explained to us the dripping from the faucet was normal we would have had no reason to make any repairs to that faucet. They claim we asked for a repair that they clearly feel is unnecessary, they did not show up when asked to follow up on the repair, and they were not willing to cut us any sort of break when we expressed our disappointment in their service. I asked them to give us a refund on the labor portion of our bill because it was not explained to us that the repair wasn't necessary. They said they didn't do anything wrong and there was nothing they could do.Desired Settlement: $171.50, the cost of the labor for the repairs.

Review: I was given a quote of $300 at time plumber showed up at work site, This was the second time I had used this contractor. The plumber asked if I would like to upgrade from galvanized to copper, I asked what the added cost would be, he again said around the 300 dollar mark. I then told him to move ahead with the job. When the project was complete I again asked about cost and I was told it should be not much more than we talked about. He said he would have to send me a bill. The total cost on the bill is $698.97. I called to have them explain this increase and was told that the parts were 300 not the total bill. This is completely unacceptable and I told them I was willing to work with them on the billing, I received a notice of lein today 1/31/14. I would not recommend this contractor to no one.Desired Settlement: I would like to pay the quoted price.

The customer had called early that morning with a broken pipe and no water. We pushed two others back in order accommodate him so that we could get his family back in water. Considering the weather and other emergencies at that time we wouldn't have had time to just do a quote and a quote was not even mentioned during our initial conversation on the phone.

While we were there we were asked about how long of a job this may be. We said it looked like it may take about 3 hours or so($300) NOT including material(not knowing what we may all need). During the repair, we encountered further issues and realized more time would be needed to complete the work AND we told him that.
