As the owner, I was not aware of this situation until receiving this complaint today Our staff handled the matter in the correct way We do not replace lost gift cards, as indicated on the back of the card which reads, "the card is not redeemable for cash, and lost or stolen cards will not be replaced except as required by law." Please see attached document Gift cards are treated as cash As the merchant, we have no control over what happens to the card once it leaves the store.I checked our cash register records for the day, 12-12-16, as indicated by the customer and found there was one gift card transaction in the amount of $which was purchased and redeemed the same day Please see attached documentThat transaction involved the transfer of a firearm.There was no gift card purchased that day for $400.00.The customer indicated that the transaction occurred on 12-12-and reported it to us on 3-9- That is a three month time frame.I have checked with the current staff and they do not have a recollection of the situation Some of the staff who would have been employed during the last months and may have dealt with the issue are no longer employed at this time
